  • "Had a fabulous relaxing 3 night break."

The owner was so welcoming and helpful. Always on hand when you needed anything. Even had coffee, milk and cake in so you could have a relax when you got there. Perfectly dog friendly with throws for the furniture and a wash station for after muddy walks. Honestly could not have asked for more.

The owners too were warm and welcoming. Use of the hot tub was a bonus on cold wet days. Kitchen was well equipped and beds comfortable. Dogs are made very welcome too. Would definitely recommend.

  • "A lovely festive stay at the Hayloft whilst we visited family, cottage was complete with tree and some decorations."

Very peaceful location and superbly dog friendly. Throws for the sofas were provided so that our puppers could lounge next to us as they do at home, which we greatly appreciate as some places we've been have forbid it and we had to sit on the floor with them to snuggle! The lil enclosed garden was great and secure and the pups loved sniffing all the plants. Only thing we would have liked is if the paddock was secure because our gal Arwen is an escape artiste so we couldn't let them off in there unfortunately, but it was still great to walk them around on lead anyway. Many thanks, and hopefully we'll be back again next year! xx

It was the perfect holiday so peaceful and just what I needed after loosing my dad 3 days before our holiday. The Hayloft was stunning , clean and there wasn’t one thing we needed . The paddock was perfect for our four dogs who just love to run and run . It was the first holiday away in taking all four rescue dogs but we really shouldn’t have worried as Karen and Stuart had thought of everything for them to have fun too . Even an outside shower with towels and shampoo which was amazing after muddy walks . We hope to revisit within the year with other family members and can’t wait to return. I couldn’t express enough if you are hesitating in booking this holiday you truly have no worries . Book now for a wonderful break and high standards of hospitality too . Thank you Karen and Stuart for everything hope to see you soon . Shelley and mark . May 2023

The cottage was beautiful with lots of original features but was warm and cosy. The cottage had more than enough room for 4 people (we were two adults with two large dogs). The cottage was well equipped with everything you may need, especially within the kitchen. The paddock was just PERFECT!! The way that a path had been cut into the wildflowers became a race track for our male Dobbie! Was the perfect home from home. Will 100% be back.

It was beautifully clean and well equipped. An indulgent chocolate cake to welcome us. Karen (the hostess) was always at hand if needed, but never a nuisance. A hot tub at the end of the day overlooking the paddocks, to ease the aching feet after lovely long walks. We will definitely be back.

The accommodation was superb - big comfy beds and crisp white bed linen, instant piping hot water (huge freestanding bath filled in no time!) Kitchen had everything we needed utensil-wise, and three great sink-in sofas to relax in in the lounge. The location was excellent and the owner, Karen, was a genuinely lovely, friendly person. We were able to put the kitchen scraps to good use by feeding the ducks and hit on lucky with the time of year as there were loads of blackberries and sloes ripe for picking! We also made good use of the hot tub which was a real treat.

  • "The cottage was just as described and advertised in the pictures."

The hot tub is lovely and if you choose to go in it at night it has fairy lights and an outdoor heater which is a lovely touch - it is more than big enough for the four guests staying in the Hayloft so if you book it for private use, it is very spacious and makes for a lovely evening. The Hayloft lounge has three sofas which made for a really spacious and comfortable communal space - we were four adults and two dogs and we had lots of room to relax. The log burner is a lovely touch and gives it a really cosy feel. The owner had put up and decorated a real Christmas tree which was such a lovely surprise to walk in and see. The bedrooms are large - one is massive. Really comfy beds, plenty of storage, complete peace at night. The bathroom is spacious and clean with a great shower. Having our own fenced off paddock for the dogs was ideal and the dog agility space gave them plenty of space to run around and socialise with the other visiting dogs. There is a pub about a 20 min walk away - not all of this is paved so not that easy to walk in the dark but the cottage does provide a torch. There are other pubs within a short driving distance that we went to on the Sunday for food as the pub near the cottage stops serving food on a Sunday past 1.30pm. Would be great if bathrobes and slippers were provided for the walk to the hot tub - I think other cottages may offer this as the welcome book mentioned it but we could not find these in the Hayloft. But that is a tiny suggestion as otherwise everything was great - would definitely recommend.

  • "We have now been taking our dogs on holiday for the past 5 years and this has by far been the nicest cottage we have stayed in."

From a spacious lounge with plenty of seating to unbelievably large and comfortable beds. Every room is tastefully decorated and has kept its cottage feel. A perfect place to take your dogs with a large paddock area for them to run loose in and outdoor washing facility’s for when they get mucky. Throw in the hot tub and log burner and what more could you possibly ask for? The owner Karen is extremely friendly and helpful and we certainly would recommend this cottage to our friends. The only thing we would have liked is walks on the doorstep or around the village, but there are so many places to visit to take our dogs walking within a 30 or 40 minute drive that even that wasn’t a huge negative.

From the moment we arrived Karen was the perfect host to both us and our dogs. The paddocks at the back were perfect for a morning walk and letting the dogs run. The location was also perfect for Brandon and Thetford Forrest and a trip to the coast. We didn't really want to go out in the evening as with the wood fire burning and the lovely rooms we got so cosy. Great kitchen to be able to cook for ourself and then the use of the hot tub was fantastic. So relaxing. Both my teenage daughters visited for a day and loved the cottage. Can't wait to return, hopefully later this year. Many thanks Karen
