  • "We enjoyed a lovely week with our daughter, baby grandson and her two pugs."

If I'm honest I was rather concerned about how the accommodation would cope with the dogs and the baby, all of whom are rather messy! I hope the owners don't take offense at this comment because it is meant positively, but I'm glad the cottage was slightly less pristine than it looks in the photos. All the furniture is solid, comfortable and just aged enough to feel relaxed about using it. Everything is homely and cozy. The flagged floors can cope with animals, babies and muddy boots without complaint. We found every possible item we needed in the kitchen, bathroom etc. The bedrooms are fantastic, with extremely comfortable beds and bedding and huge amounts of space. We had one little issue with the travel cot - not sure if it was us being novices with them or if it was broken, but Andy brought another one for us within 30 minutes of me emailing about it. I loved that the TV can be pushed out of the way when you don't want it to dominate the room, but is there when you need it. The secure back garden for the dogs is a real boon. The area is so beautiful, with countryside, small towns and coast all in easy reach, although inside the cottage itself, you feel miles away from anywhere - in a good way. A peaceful place to just chill out. We loved the warm welcome of wine and chocolates - both very much enjoyed - thank you. I do hope we can return one day.

Couldn’t fault it really. Loved staying here (adults, kids and dogs would agree). We just about got used to the low beams by the end of our stay (a few bumps and bruises later!) .

The cottage was so comfortable, it was easy to relax there. The area around the cottage is lovely - lots of country walks and plenty of places of interest to visit. A truly idyllic setting in which to enjoy a well - earne holiday.

  • "We booked both St."

Michael's House and St. Michael's Cottage for a family holiday, replacing a Villa previously booked in France; and we were really glad that we did. The two properties were very spacious (particularly after we lost 3 family members who were isolating from Covid) and extremely well laid out. The weather wasn't perfect (the heat wave arriving the week after we left), but there was plenty to do in the area (we particularly recommend St Peter's Brewery and the Flint Vineyard) and the garden had plenty of room to relax, play and barbecue. We had our new 5 month old grandson with us and everything worked perfectly for 3 generations of the family. I would definitely recommend these properties for a family holiday and we will certainly be coming back again. Mike Sharman PS: the enormous TV in the main sitting room was fantastic on which to watch England win 3 of its Euro football matches!

This is a return holiday. The facilities are great even in COVID times and the owners really helpful. It is such a peaceful environment. The only issue we had was with the weather. We just happened, after 2 years of waiting to pick a cold and wet week. We returned to a mini heatwave! C’est la vie. Would highly recommend this cottage

A very special touch by the owners was the welcome card and gifts of Prosecco and Chocolates. We have three dogs and we were very happy to find the garden very secure. A point to note is that the cottage is a little isolated, but having said that, we wanted peace and quiet after a very hectic time as essential workers. Lots of local footpaths for the keen dog walker. All in all we loved it and WILL go back.

It was wonderful! The cottage offered every comfort you could possibly want and was well equipped with kitchen equipment and other items of a high quality, so you wanted for nothing. The cottage was like a home from home and catered for our needs and those of our dogs brilliantly. The garden was very secure so our dogs could explore it and enjoy it in safety. The cottage offered us exactly the peaceful break we were hoping for and was set in such lovely country side, there were walks a plenty. we enjoyed it so much we would like to come back again next year!

We were there for 2 weeks and towels were changed at the end of week 1 which was nice, as was the welcome bottle of prosecco. The cottage sleeps 7 - but there were only 6 dining chairs and 2 outdoor chairs - it would helpful if thus could be addressed for future guests.

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you had a lovely time as you were the first guests back since March. Could we add that there is also a large wooden picnic bench in the garden for those wanting to enjoy the sunshine. We have also added a seventh dining chair. Property Owner

Very quite and peaceful just what we liked but only a short drive away to shops, pubs tea rooms and beach. Lovely walks near by for dogs. Owners were very nice, nothing was to much trouble. Only one negative, although we appreciated the history and beauty, we found the stairs a bit daunting, apart from that the whole experience was brilliant.

  • "A lovely period property, beautifully restored and maintained, in a quiet part of the world."

We brought our tandem and had some lovely rides through the countryside (mostly very flat). The roads are narrow country roads, but there is very little traffic. It was a very restful, relaxing few days, with outings to the coast and some of the scenic old villages in the area. The only drawback is that there are no pubs/restaurants nearby (the closest one, about 2 miles away, was closed for food the night we wanted to eat there), but it wasn't a problem. Bungay is not that far away - 4-5 miles. A great place - we'd love to come again.

The pretty market town of Bungay is close by with its range of independent shops, cafes and pubs, whilst the small towns of Halesworth, Harleston and Beccles are also just a short drive away. The popular coastal town of Southwold is well known for its fully restored pier as well as its lighthouse, 15th century church and the sand and shingle beach with its colourful beach huts.
