That review was not justified and we enjoyed our short stay. We did not use the oven, which was the subject of one of the previous occupant's complaints and perhaps some updating in the kitchen and elsewhere would be of benefit, but we had no problem with it and it was well-equipped. It is a large and attractive property. We were a party of 5 adults, a child and a dog. The bathroom/shower facilities were only just about adequate for that number of people. The fact that there is only one toilet, and that it is in the main bathroom was a drawback. The cottage is plenty large enough to be redesigned to make space for a second toilet. The garden is not completely enclosed and secure, but then it is not described as such. If guests have a dog who is an escape artist they need to take extra care, but we found it secure enough for our dog (admittedly an older animal now who might have tried to explore in her younger days) and the back lawn was suitable for a ball game. There is no Wi-Fi.

It's on a lovely plot and the village is lovely. It was clean and spacious but lacking a few home comforts which could make all the difference. The oven is temperamental and there was a lack of sharp knives which made cooking rather tricky. The downstairs loo has very noisy plumbing and there was a strong smell of oil outside the property and as you entered via the back door into ground floor. This gave you a 'sicky' headache if in the property for long but luckily we were blessed with wonderful sunshine. There is a back garden but not secure(as stated) which means the neighbours' dog can often escape into the garden too which can be tricky if you take your own!
