  • "We all loved the Old Cart Shed."

Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Although large, it was warm and cosy, which was the perfect place to watch the wild birds from, as it rained a lot! We had a wonderful stay, and I cannot thank the owner enough.

There was ample space for everyone (4 adults, 5 children and a dog) and the location is beautiful. We would come back for another stay in the future if we are in the area.

Perfect place for family, and blissfully happy dogs. Thank you all concerned. Only one small draw back. Fridge in far to small for the size of the property and showing signs on constant over stuffing!, otherwise perfect, excellent value and would highly recommend.

It was ideally suited for a large family or group, with a super enclosed garden for the dog and plenty of parking. The inside of the cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and well maintained, with every facility and equipment needed for our stay. A very big thank you to the owners for the welcoming gifts, which were much appreciated.

The welcome pack was very much appreciated thank you. Set in a peaceful location. Lots of birds and surrounding countryside There are neighbours but we didn't hear a thing from them and you can just shut yourself away and let nature happen around you. Would highly recommend and the garden is just huge and very secure for 2 energetic and nosey Boxers!

  • "Generally a really great property."

Just a few things that would improve it. Doors not shutting properly were the biggest bugbear, making moving around the house at night quite noisy. Could do with extra cupboards in kitchen as it's a big place so an extra double cupboard would have been useful. An arbour or some other form of shaded seating for the garden, a bbq and a couple of extra fans in hot weather as it was stifling, especially at night.

The welcome gifts were more than generous and we lacked for nothing in terms of kitchen and dining. There was enough of everything for nine [plus dog] and the bedroom configurations worked out spledidly for a three year old. Big comfortable sofas and more than enough dining chairs [not always the case!]. This was our second stay at the Old Cart Shed and I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • "This property is fantastic."

Plenty of space, kitchen equipment etc. We stayed over Christmas and it was just perfect. A suggestion/ observation we made (definitely not a complaint) is maybe a few shelves or cupboard on the wall in the kitchen. As a large group staying we didn't have many places to store non fridge food. However that didn't stop us. We have already said we would happily stay here again. Thank you!

Very clean and very well equipped. Very spacious. Excellent wood burner. Would book again and recommend. The only minor detail that let it down was the view from the french doors in the lounge - the large plastic shed whilst practical for storing fuel for fire (of which there was a very generous supply) was not pretty to look at - when the cottages was surrounded by fields.

  • "Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, the photos of the property were very deceiving."

Also, you were led to believe that the property was on its own, but it was semi-detached and there were other properties on the site. Generally the property was "acceptable", but the upstairs bathroom was awful! There was nowhere to store toiletries - not even a shelf - and no shelf in the shower. The shower curtain stuck to you as it only went halfway along and the water pressure was very temperamental! Although we had a very small towel holder on the radiator in the upstairs double, we had to dry our towels on chairs on the landing every day and the Velux Blind in the bedroom didn't fit properly and let lots of light in! The garden was fine for the children though, but the flies were awful and there was a flying ants nest in the boiler cupboard which we had to deal with! There were 6 of us staying altogether - 4 adults and 2 children - but if it was at total capacity, it would have been cramped. Needless to say, we wouldn't return. Having said all that, Margaret Daniels was very pleasant and there was a basic Welcome Pack there, so I'm sorry to have to write this report.

The house was a pleasure to stay in. We enjoyed the terrace, watching the house martens and other birds. Our son loved the chance to explore. Only a couple of issues were experienced, the mattress in the upstairs double was 'very' soft with a lean to one side. We also experienced noisy neighbours during our stay. Loud music from 11.30pm on day 2 of our stay and again from 9.45pm on day 3 of our stay. It didn't last long, maybe 20 minutes, but was heard throughout the property. Overall, we would definitely recommend the property to others and may well be back ourselves next year.

Gardens are beautiful. Positives: Everything you could think of was supplied by owners. It’s in the middle of nowhere, but only a short drive to places which we liked. Totally secure for kids and dogs. Negatives: Mattresses are not comfy, could do with new mattresses on beds. We used the nursery, and because the house was attached to another, the neighbours were noisy, and could be heard through the baby monitor which interrupted sleep. All in all, a lovely holiday.

There is also 2 villages within a 15 minute drive and the location of the cottage is lovely, with beautiful walks on your doorstep. The cottage itself was a little dated and if I’m being picky lacked some storage and we felt the TV needs updating as it’s to small for the room, the beds were also not the most comfortable, but like I said that’s me being picky. On arrival we had a beautiful welcome package, with some lovely treats to enjoy and tips for local days out, the cottage was really clean and well presented and had good amenities, the garden is stunning. We would definitely return and were sad to leave after having such a great time.

It was a last minute booking due to the Covid crisis and provided us with a much needed break. The instructions provided in the cottage for packing away were very clear and left us with confidence that we were safe there for our break. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was stocked with all kinds of cooking implements and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to get away from it all.
