  • "The cottage was very comfortable and ideally placed for birding in west Norfolk."

The kitchen was well equipped - although supplying only four teabags seemed a little on the frugal side - and sofas were comfortable, as was the bed. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but it was perfectly adequate and probably better for water consumption. The cobwebs in the bedroom were magnificent although with such a high ceiling they are inevitable and everything else was clean. We were extremely comfortable for our five-night stay and would happily return.

  • "The property was more than adequate for our stay."

Spacious, spotlessly clean and fresh. My elderly mother had the double room with en-suite ,self contained and private for her. In the living room/kitchen could’ve done with a pouffe or footstool for her comfort ,we resorted in placing a cushion on the coffee table which wasn’t ideal but we managed and it doesn’t reflect the overall comfort which was lovely. Beds were very comfortable and linen was clean and fresh smelling. Will definitely book again.

  • "This was our 4th time at Holly Berry Cottage and we enjoyed our stay."

The area is lovely and it is easy to get to Holt and the coast. But we felt the cottage was a little tired. Equipment in kitchen could be added to eg maybe a slow cooker and cooking trays for the oven. Also, a full length mirror in the twin bedroom would be nice. The shower in the separate bathroom could do with a new shower head.

  • "The cleanliness was poor."

Cobwebs, dust, dirty cutlery, vacumn cleaner cylinder full and an issue with flies which appears to be known as a full can of fly spray left for use. Freezer compartment of fridge so iced the door would not close. The soft couch/chairs not ideal for anyone elderly or disabled.

Thanks for your referral back to Sykes regarding your recent stay in Hollyberry Cottage . Firstly we really appreciate your feedback. We are sorry that we have on this occasion fallen short of the level of cleanliness that we strive to provide to our guests. We are proud of Sykes ratings , normally reflecting positive guest experience. However on this occasion we have not lived up to our guests expectations which we are really sorry about. I have addressed the feedback given with my cleaning team and the owners and we will put measures in place to prevent from happening again. Property Owner

  • "Was concerned that the accommodation would be suitable for a disabled wheelchair user."

Everywhere was flat, well spaced and very easy to move around, except the car park which was like a pea shingle and might cause some a little difficulty, although we managed ok. Couple of small points- put a few more clothes hooks into the master bedroom ensuite - our disabled user found that a challenge. Also sadly the nice three piece suite is losing its firmness and our disabled user couldn't get up after sitting down. Overall though it worked well and we would come again. Thank you.

  • "While the property was well situated for the wider Norfolk attractions, quiet and a good size there were some downsides."

The main bed was very hard therefore I struggled to sleep for the whole week and as others have commented on there were cobwebs everywhere which made the place feel dirty, while the other areas were generally clean. Sofas were very soft and again not very comfortable, hence the score around comfort as a whole. On a more positive note the children (10,7) really loved the playground area and it felt very safe for them to enjoy.

The children loved having the play equipment in the field and we never saw anyone else in there. The grounds were beautiful. The children enjoyed watching the tractors in the field. The cottage was very spacious and perfect for our needs with 2 children 5&8. The patio was next to the front door so not private as it’s in the courtyard with the patios and front doors for the other cottages. Just something to be aware of if you’d want to sit out in privacy - you can’t. It didn’t bother us though. Just 30mins drive to the coast (we went to the lovely Sheringham beach) and 40min drive to Norwich. We used a Morrison’s supermarket only 10mins drive away. I would stay here again. Great value for money.

  • "Lovely holiday home."

Far bigger than we expected. We'll equipped kitchen including washer dryer which was great for getting clothes clean and dry after happy days sploshing through muddy puddles and paddling in the sea at Cromer, Sheringham and Wells which are all a little over half an hour away. Good Covid-19 measures in place although shutting the outdoor play area felt like a step too far and was disappointing for the children. It was one of the reasons we chose Holly Berry. Cottage generally clean if you didn't look upwards. Spiders webs everywhere on walls and ceilings. Would happily stay again.

The parking area was well lit and the short walk from the car park to the cottage was extremely well lit. The cottage and surroundings felt really secure with the electric gates. It was nice to have a milk in the fridge and buns provided after a long journey. It was also very nice to meet the owner of the cottage, who took time out of her busy schedule (I suspect) to meet us and let us know that she was just around the corner in the farm house if we needed anything.

Holly Berry accommodation was well equipped clean and tidy. Wood Norton is out in the beautiful Norfolk countryside and for November we were blessed with good weather. Convenient for the North Norfolk coast which can only be described as charming. The Sandringham Estate is within reasonable driving distance. Many National Trust properties and some quaint but picturesque towns, particularly Holt. The popular Thursford Collection is quite close and we attended their Christmas Spectacular Show - wonderful doesn't do it justice! It's truly amazing - well worth a visit. The auditorium seats 1500 and the show runs on most days through November and December but book early - we purchased our tickets 10 months prior to the show and a fair proportion of the seats had already been taken. To summarise lots to see and do to suit all ages, our seven days were totally insufficient to see all we wanted - Norfolk is calling us back!

It did not disappoint. The property was good, well-furnished, clean and modern. As regards location, access to main roads was acceptable, and the immediate surroundings pleasantly rural and visually pleasing. A lack of connectivity for mobile phone was a pity, but if you 'go rural' that does so often happen. One thing we would have appreciated would have been a small fridge-freezer, rather than a simple fridge (with minimal 'deeper cooling bit'). It's not just kids who enjoy having ices/sorbets to hand! Overall - much enjoyed.

The cottage itself was cosy, homely, warm and welcoming which was perfect considering we staying due the worse snowfall to hit for a number of years ! The cottage was well equipped and clean and provided everything we needed for a break away from everything (no phone signal, although Wi-Fi was available and perfectly usable if required) Couldn't have asked for anything more from this cottage.
