  • "A cosy, well kept, quiet cottage in a lovely location."

Hoping to come back again! A coffee maker would have been a welcome addition, and we struggled with the door handles downstairs, especially on the kitchen door.

  • "Superb cottage within a tranquil location, very comfortable with a fantastic conservatory for relaxing in even as we had rain for several days."

The kitchen is well equipped but would benefit from an Airfryer which makes cooking 10 times quicker and uses a lot less electricity for the owners!!

Close to many fabulous beaches. Comfy and good value for money.

  • "The cottage was delightful and we had a really good time there."

However, a couple of things needed attention. The first floor toilet seat was ‘floating’ and needs fixing/replacing and the left hand shower door on the ground floor was difficult to close. Apart from that it was first class and we would certainly recommend it.

  • "This was the 4th time that my husband and I stayed at Llain Rhuttan, so that says it all really."

The cottage is beautifully furnished with many attractive ornaments and pictures. The kitchen/diner is spacious and well-equipped and we love spending time in the conservatory, something we don't have at home. The only drawback is the size of the bedrooms. As we only go as a couple it is not a problem for us to keep clothes in one room and sleep in the other. A family with older children would struggle and two couples would find it very inconvenient. The beds are comfortable. We take our King-sized duvet with us to avoid battles over bedding! We are grateful to the owners for sharing the property with us.

  • "What a lovely home to spend the holiday in!"

The house provided everything we needed for our stay, had spacious living areas and comfortable bedrooms. Little details have been considered and implemented, even down to kitchen scales so we could bake. I know the area well anyway and this is in a great location of visiting many of the best beaches on Pen Llyn, although a car is a must from here. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. It suited us perfectly!

We went as a family of 4 with two young girls. My brother and his partner came for a bit too. Isolated cottage in the middle of the countryside. Wonderful dark skies with millions of stars visible. A short drive to Aberdaron and to all the lovely coves and outdoor spaces LlÅ·n has to offer. A 20 min drive to Abersoch too. We will definitely be back.

  • "Regarding our stay Llain Rhuttan."

This was our second booking at this venue. It sadly falls short of our previous experience. The kitchen table was sticky and had not been cleaned, as were the backs of the kitchen chairs that were sticky and greasy. We arrived with the ingredients for a celebration dinner. Clearly the R&R Cleaning Services had failed to check the inventory. The forks were missing. We immediately reported this to Stephen (named problem responder in the house book). He said he would action a cutlery replacement and requested we install a newly arrived Toaster and remove what was a defective toaster to the bin area. With no forks arriving on the second day we contacted Will a (second named problem responder in the house book) who said he only lived three miles away and would instruct R&R Cleaning Services to provide the replacement forks. At no time during our stay did we receive replacement forks or indeed an apology. My report in no way reflects on what is a lovely property and setting which clearly deservers a more diligent and responsible support service as do the guests that pay to be there. Your company Sykes Cottages provided the connection for this venue. I look forward receiving your observations and response and trust you will convey mine to the owners of the property. Mr R Mitchell

Thank you for your feedback, we have now investigated all of your concerns. Firstly with regard to the missing forks and your phone call to myself on Saturday. Your wife phoned me and told me that she couldnt find a Corkscrew but she said it was no problem as they would go out and buy a replacement, and wanted us to know that it was missing when they came to use it. At no point in the conversation did your wife mention forks , were missing, if you had i would have surgested checking the top cutlery rack in the dishwasher and i certainly did not say i would send replacement cutlery. You then rang our second responder with regards to the forks who is our gardener who then passed it onto R R Cleaning. In the meantime you rang me again on Tuesday leaving a message, with regards to the electric which I responded to within 5 minutes,as you did not pick up your phone i left u a message and asked you to let us know if everything was ok , you never responded. I have spoken to R R Cleaning who said they only knew about the forks on Saturday the day after you had left. I have also spoken to Sykes who have informed me that due to Covid Guests are asked to put the dishwasher on so every thing is clean for the next guests and the new guests are told by Sykes to check dishwasher on arrival the forks were there all the time in the dishwasher. Regarding Toaster , it broke when last guests were in so we ordered a replacement it arrived after our cleaners had left so was left out side. When your wife phoned about corkscrew she mentioned about the parcel i told her it was a replacement toaster and we didn't want you to be without one for the week so we kindly asked her if she could unpack it and remove old one and leave it outside the door , to which your wife said no problem and thanks very much. Regards sticky table and chairs we have been informed from R R Cleaning it is a spray used after cleaning to remove any signs of covid and on some surfaces can leave a sticky residue (we have asked if there is anything else that could be used). We are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay but some where wires have been crossed, We always do our upmost to respond to any queries with our cottage as quickly as possible and we are only ever a phone call away. Best wishes Stephen Property Owner

  • "Very well equipped."

Loved the cutlery rack in the dishwasher once we had found it. (It is a pull-out tray at the top.) The downstairs is lovely, especially the sun lounge but upstairs is a little cramped with no wardrobe in one of the double bedrooms. The parking is slightly awkward if you have two cars and want to be able to get either out first. Apart from that everything was splendid, and we would be happy to go there again if we are holidaying with one of our children and family.

Wonderful location and although we visited many different beaches and ran many miles of coastline we feel there is still so much more within easy reach from the house. We appreciated the games and dvd collection on our one rainy day, thank-you. The garden is a lovely size for the kids to run around and with the gate shut it is nicely secure.

  • "The cottage was well presented but given the self catering holiday aspect of the property and the current restrictions on eating out the kitchen would benefit from additional items such as a fine sieve, a small bottle of cooking oil, more smaller glasses and cups."

The cookware plates and dishes felt like they needed a wash prior to use, the kitchen fridge smelt strongly of fish, requiring a good wipe out and the glass doors in the kitchen were heavily finger marked. Cleaning utensils where basic, bleach and cleaning cloths would be a nice addition. Precise following of the owner's written instructions for the central heating resulted in the heating system setting the required temp but after a short while it would default to the frost protection setting, effectively turning off . On the oil fired burner in the lounge the heat seal on the inside of the door is hanging off and requires repairing. Bedding quality was good but the quilt tog was far too heavy even for the current unseasonal cold snap we have just experienced necessitating both bedroom widows to be left wide open during the night. A lighter summer bedding option would be a must for us. The tv cord had been disconnected from the back of the set requiring some detective work to get it working, the owners book stated garden furniture provided for use, non present. The upstairs toilet seat was very loose and the downstairs loo dual flush sticking open causing water to run into the pan unchecked. This is constructive criticism to help the owners improve future experience for customers. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the cottage.

  • "Overall a good property with a sufficient level of facilities."

Banged my head several times on light shade in the entrance hallway (I am 6ft). Decor is very outdated. Mattresses old and uncomfortable and despite there being two bathrooms, the shower is downstairs not upstairs. No locks on bathroom doors caused privacy issues.

It is extremely clean has excellent facilities and is a gem in the very scenic rural welsh countryside, whilst it is in a remote location, it takes little time to get to places like Pwllheli and Abersoch and hour to Caernarfon and not much longer into Anglesey. The pictures do not do it justice and the whole process from booking to leaving was a breeze. Thank you very much.
