  • "Great location but if travelling with those who have mobility issues the short 6 minute walk into the village will struggle due to the gradient of the road."

The house is perfect and owners are very responsive. Nice quality features throughout. We struggled to turn down the heating so didn’t get to use the log fire. Underfloor heating was welcomed especially first thing. Very happy overall.

Thank you for this kind review. I would just say that we provide the electric buggies to help guests with walking disabilities to get down the steep lane into the village. However, we concede that there are certain disabilities that make operating a buggy difficult. Property Owner

  • "I booked Manaros cottage for our family getaway."

It looked perfect for my parents, Mum uses a wheel chair so the open plan part of the main house looked amazing and a riser/recliner exactly like her one at home, brilliant. the offer of a hospital bed, great, she uses one at home............sadly all was not as it appeared in the pics when we arrived. The Fabric chair had been replaced with a leather type very unstable one. It was quite frankly awful and certainly not fit for a disabled person to use. So much so that mum actually slipped out one evening and we had to lift her up from the floor. Everytime she tried to get up the chair slid backwards so one of us had to stand behind it. The hospital bed looked ok but the mattress was so soft, when she sat on the edge it disappeared below the wooden rails which then cut into the back of her legs. In the separate wet room, the loo wouldnt flush properly and the cistern was quite loose. The kitchen was well equipped but as in previous comments some of the baking tins need replacing as do many of the light bulbs!! The furniture in the main living area was unusable for 6 out of 8 of us as it was very low and saggy. Even those of us without any issues couldnt get up once down! the dining room chairs werent much better and not having at least one with arms meant my mum had to stay in her wheelchair instead of being able to use a proper chair. The floors are very slippery and the room with on ensuit wet room/hospital bed is furthest from the main living area. The cottage is on a very steep hill so if you are a wheelchair user who isnt able to use one of the giant tramper thingys then it means taking the car down to the beach. Theres no way you could push a wheelchair down and certainly not up that hill. Its also to much for anyone elderly or a little unsteady. Obviously these things are not down to the onwers but I feel these details may be helpful to other people looking to come to the area, which is lovely. Sadly I cant comment on what the owners are like as they didnt bother to come and introduce themselves. A couple of days seems to be the standard response time to a text message. There are no instructions for the oven and as happens over time the makings have worn off.....No instruction for anything, no leaflets, no visitors book. Its a lovely property that needs a bit of TLC. Sadly it wasnt as suitable as I had hoped for my parents but every party has different needs

  • "WE really enjoyed our stay at Manaros Cottage."

We are foster carers and it was great for each of our looked after children to have their own bedroom / bathroom and TV. The living area is also very spacious and well thought out; although fuel for wood burner was provided foc there was no need since the sun heated the living space beautifully. We look forward to returning to Manaros Cottage.

  • "Lovely holiday in excellent property."

Disabled facilities were first class, very comfortable beds and great wet room. We .enjoyed our stroll down to the village which has a wonderful Bakery, and our walks around the area and further afield in very good weather. Can certainly recommend this holiday.

  • "It was fantastic to find a property that was accessible for us all and the hospital bed meant my daughter was comfortable and safe."

If I was being really picky it would be that the sofas were a bit low as there was more than 1 of us with mobility issues but I appreciate that is probably just us

  • "We loved staying in Manaros Cottage but feel we must list the following as in a kindly way these things need attention."

Some of the tins (baking and roasting tray( were rusty and well worn they could do with replacing. A whisk would be good though not essential. The door from the conservatory to the patio could not be opened (no key) when it was hot itwould have been helpful we could open it as some of the windows appeared stuck as well. The only real problem we found was the washing machine which was situated in the garage . The garage was obviously used by the "cleaning people" to handle washing from some other properties too. We found the inside door to the garage was unlocked which was fine as we wanted to use the washing machine but it also meant that people could come and go through the garage to use the bed linen towels etc washing facilities. We left our friend who has the disabilities at home in the lounge a few times while we went out in our car. She felt that person had come in through the adjacent door maybe to use the bathroom I don't know but she was conscious of that, The fact that we could not lock that door was a bit disconcerting Also when we came to use the washing machine there was already washing in it. Maybe if we had known about this arrangement we would have been more prepared. It put us off going into the garage which was a big storage room as well. However it is a beautiful cottage and we want the owners to know we loved staying there and it was very comfortable for our friend with disabilities and the rest of us.

  • "We had a wonderful stay here in April 2023."

Spacious and well appointed accommodation with excellent facilities. Very well adapted for disabled/elderly people, I use a wheelchair myself and found the cottage a pleasure to stay in. We have never been to Aberdaron before; beautiful and even the weather was with us with some blustery but sunny days. Looking forward to a return visit. Many thanks, we enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to meet you Helen and Peter.

  • "We had a lovely week at Maneros."

The place was very clean when we arrived, and everything is beautifully laid out with top quality furnishings. The whole experience in Aberdaron was warm and friendly. We had 3 wheelchair users in our party, and the beach buggies were brilliant. We were on the beach every morning early with our beach buggies, before the hot sunshine hit. Granted we had a beautiful hot week, but our surroundings just added to all our happy memories of a brilliant week away. We can recommend this place to anyone. We would love to visit again, however because of its popularity is booked up until Summer 2024, which is a shame. I will keep checking and hopefully will be able to return.

  • "We really enjoyed our week in manaros, the house is all accesible, including 2 of the bathrooms and being able to use the tramper was brilliant."

The large kitchen, dinning and living room is a great space for all the family and the house was equipped with everything we needed. Aberdaron is a great little village, we’ll definitely go back to manaros and would recommend, especially if you’re looking for an accesible cottage.

  • "This property has been well thought out by the helpful owners."

It is spacious, comfortable, warm, well equipped (even a knife sharpener!) and we have already re-booked. Just a small note - bizarrely there are no steps up to the back gate, so lifting dogs and scrambling up the wall is the only option.

  • "This is a well equipped pleasant holiday accommodation."

My wife is a wheelchair user, hence my comments are largely related to wheelchair access. The entrance is up a bit of a slope which could be a difficulty for some wheelchair users. There are no steps or slopes inside so getting around inside is ideal. Each bedroom has an ensuite shower room The largest ensuite is a shower room with a very low shower tray, this isn't really large enough for a wheelchair to enable getting into the shower etc. The separate wet room is larger and therefore more useful for wheelchair access, however using this room would not give the privacy and convenience of an ensuite. The underfloor heating was very effective in the living/dining/kitchen area but did not work in the bedrooms. The nearby town of Aberdaron is very pleasant and is accessed via a steep hill.. You wouldn't want to push a wheelchair down or up the road to it, also it was too steep for our elderly companions to walk. Powerchairs that resemble a quad bike are available to take down to the beach, we didn't try them but they look great fun. We had a lovely time staying in this lovely home in this lovely part of Wales.

It would have been helpful though if the situation with the gate in to the field and access to the field had been explained along with the sharing of the garage and washing facilities with the other property . Overall we would book again given the opportunity to .

  • "Excellent accommodation, but just a few comments."

It would be useful if there were instructions for the appliances and it would be good if the grill rack fitted(its Rangemaster and they do replacement parts). Comfort marked down as the sofas are 'tired' and 'saggy'. The panel in one of the bathrooms is missing, but it is in the garage. Overall an excellent stay and the owner was really helpful when there was a power cut and we were concerned the fire alarm wouldn't reset.

The living space was open plan which was ideal for us. All the bedrooms were ensuite, so no-one had to queue for the bathroom. The location was a few minutes walk from the beach. In the village was a Spar shop, several cafes and pubs and a bakery. Altogether a good holiday.

The village of Aberdaron is quite quaint, there’s a Spar shop that when you walk in you feel like you’re stepping back in time, a bakery that sells home made fudge (yum yum), a couple of little cafés, a chip shop, a couple of pubs, and a little shop on the beach front that does take away pizzas!!
