  • "The cottage is as described."

Lots of lovely touches throughout. Secure garden is a big tick when you have a dog. Kitchen well stocked. Did not have pasta bowls or microwavable plastic containers for cooking veg etc. However I have never come across anywhere that does so we have learned to take our own! Two maintenance issues. The cleaners left us a note to say the drains (both from the kitchen waste and the bathroom) were blocked and this they had reported (Friday). Secondly there was a problem with the freezer door which would not stay shut (we wedged it with the slow cooker). We reported the freezer on the Saturday - sent pictures and a video to the 'Housekeeper' and left two messages but had no response. The maintenance man (lovely fella) came on the Thursday as we were leaving on the Friday to fix the drains (he could only unblock the bathroom drain). He knew nothing about the freezer needing fixing but sorted that out (I think?). None of the above would put me off staying again as such issues naturally occur from time to time. There is a lack of instructions or at least they are not comprehensive. We are not familiar with electric heating but apart from the bathroom radiator got no heat from the other two radiators despite seemingly turning them on. The en-suite is very welcome upstairs with the bathroom being downstairs. The bedroom is much like the downstairs of a very high standard. The bed is one of the best I have experienced. Lots of cupboard and draw space. The joinery is first class! We got talking with the joiner in the pub next door - lovely fella - with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Welsh ancient history.

Thank you for your very kind review. There are some good recommendations there! I would like to say how very very sorry I am to hear about the problems you had that were not resolved during your stay. I'm very glad to hear you managed to enjoy your holiday despite them. Property Owner

For a small cottage very well equipped with lots of cupboards, drawers and hanging spaces. We would certainly consider staying there on our next trip to Anglesey. Phil & Judith Fairclough

  • "Pretty cottage everything we needed, just lots of spiders and cobwebs my partner had several spider bites."

We did clean most away but kept finding more. Lovely village and beautiful beach

So sorry to hear of your bad experience with spiders. After reading your review we immediately contacted our housekeeping team who then did a thorough clean. We inspected the cottage today and it is immaculate. We hope you still managed to enjoy your holiday. Property Owner

  • "Poppy’s cottage was the perfect home from home."

The location was ideal, a short walk to the beach at Aberffraw, the pub is next door (although it was being refurbished when we were there), a small shop and post office up the road, and a cafe less than 5-minutes walk. Aberffraw itself is a great village to explore Anglesey, nestled between Newborough Forest and Rhosneigr. We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and equipped with all of the amenities you could need to a self-catered break. Accessing the cottage was easy and instructions for accessing the lockbox were sent before we arrived. We were very grateful for the welcome gifts of wine and Welsh cakes. We will definitely be returning.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "The property is very well-stocked with everything you might need in the kitchen etc."

The bedroom is light, airy and comfortable with lots of storage space. The downstairs did smell rather strongly of dog. There were no instructions left for what the owners would like at the end of the stay (beds stripped or not etc) which would have been useful in the booklet.

Thank you for your review. All feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We have given Poppy Cottage a 5 star rating, facilities were excellent, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, all there, excellent shower (one tip I would share, don't leave your towel on the toilet seat when showering, it'll get wet, the shower is wonderfully powerful)."

Lovely sandy beach half a mile away, a circular walk along the coastal footpath if you wanted a bit of exercise, shop in the village for essentials and Llangefni for the larger shops, all in all a fantastic 4 days for the two us plus Charlie the staffy. We would definitely go back again. Diolch

  • "The cottage was immaculate and easy to make cosy."

Parking is plentiful. The garden is dog friendly and secure. The location is great as you can easily walk to Aberffraw beach and drive to many other glorious beaches. I took my own coffee machine, so, for me, that’s the only thing I can think of to improve this lovely cottage.
