  • "The place it self looked amazing however the facilities were poor, and and after my grandchild dropping something on the floor in 1 of the bedrooms we found so much muck and items under beds and behind draws that seemed to have been there for months, electric kept having power cuts, hot tub was cold at times, had to call the maintenance man on his holidays to ask what to do."

the heating was terrible spent many nights cold engineer came but had no idea about the boiler. Staff was hard to get hold of, the barrier was a nightmare to get in, sorry not the best, and I always book with sykes 2_3 times a year poorest so far.

  • "We were given a keycode number to gain access to the site by Sykes on arrival , but the barriers were not keycode operated."

We had to ring security to find out how to gain access, (not a great start). The lodge was not clean , the windows looked like they had not been cleaned in months , the shower had mould and dirt marks in it and had a bad smell. The edge of the floor to the bath was dirty, the cupboards in the kitchen still had bits in them so not clean, the outside furniture had green moss growing on it ,so obviously not cleaned , the sofa's were so low it was like sitting on the floor and not very easy to get out of. The hot tub had sand in two of the seats (and we had not been to the beach) so felt we could not use this as felt unsure as to how clean the water was, and we specifically booked a lodge with a hot tub to have a relaxing break . Really disappointed with the lodge and Sykes .

  • "Hi Sorry to say we got there and the cleaner was still there!"

She was lovely but on her own so my daughter ended up helping making up the beds and hoovering. There was food and clothing left in cupboards! The barbecue was filthy so we couldn’t use it even if we had wanted to! The oven wasn’t clean either! And on reflection maybe the hot tub wasn’t as sterile as it should have been! On leaving we stripped the bedding only to find stains on pillows! Also on site facilities not great!! Considering what we paid for this accommodation very disappointed!!

  • "The chalet is beautifully finished and high quality, the hot tub was great!"

The location is amazing we loved being so near the beach and all the facilities at the Warren. Overall the facilities were very good, but unfortunately we couldn’t get the TV in the lounge to work despite several attempts, we gave up eventually. Cleanliness wise we were disappointed to find it to be quite dirty on arrival, there was dust and grime around the skirting boards, window sills etc. It clearly hasn’t been cleaned properly in some time. In the kitchen we went to use the sandwich toaster machine which was filthy. The dishwasher needed to be emptied on arrival. In the bathroom there were lots of dead midges in the bath. Overall we had a great week, just a few things need attention there.

  • "Excellent location and tastefully presented lodge, close to the adjoining Warren site where all the amenities are."

Well equipped kitchen. Outside deck a lovely space. Didn’t use the barbecue but one was provided. Hot tub was also very good. Negatives: TV was a big issue for us as there was no terrestrial TV in the lounge and that was when we could connect with the site Wi-Fi, which was off more than it was on. We spent far too much time trying to sort this and on calls to Sykes who didn’t have the answers to resolve the issues, although they were helpful and kept us informed, to no avail though. Radio provided but that depended on Wi-Fi too it seemed as that kept cutting out. No instructions for any equipment, particularly the TV/Wi-Fi, hot tub, washer/dryer. This would have helped greatly. We noticed the shed behind the lodge was unlocked and we were unable to lock it and worried about the safety of the contents. No one at the site office to ask during our stay. Cleanliness was poor in the lounge and bedrooms, specifically the sofas which we found to have crushed biscuits under the cushions. None of the furniture had been moved to clean behind or under, In the bedrooms there were biscuits behind the bedside cabinets and thick dust on furniture and skirtings. Post covid particularly I expected a clean lodge would be essential. Bathrooms, towels, bed linen all very clean. En-suite toilet was cracked with a loose lid. The style and location of this lodge are its selling points and I would recommend it. We would book again provided the negatives noted were rectified.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the lodge."

It was in a lovely position and I’ve never stayed anywhere as well equipped. I always pack a bag of essentials and didn’t need them. I always take throws for the settees (as we take children) but they were there too. The place looked spotless when we arrived and the only negative was when my grandson lost a piece of Lego. We had to take the cushions off the settee and found a very old banana and we cleaned underneath which obviously hadn’t been moved for ages. I just wanted you to be aware of this However we shall certainly be booking again as we had a wonderful stay.

Progress to the kitchen, a well-fitted space, thanks to its minimalistic units with integrated appliances, and is where the chef of the group will have a ball rustling up mouthwatering meals.

These meals can be enjoyed as a quick bite at the breakfast bar, as a sit-down affair at the neighbouring dining table, or they can even be taken out through the bi-folding doors to the decked area for an alfresco dinner!

When night falls, head to one of the three beautifully furnished bedrooms, all of which enjoy their own TVs, with the first comprising a king-size with its own en-suite shower room, and the latter bedrooms consisting of two twins.

The family bathroom is also nearby, a superbly fitted space, where you can enjoy a soothing dip in the bath and relax your muscles after a day filled with watersports.

Tal-y-Fan Park has so much to offer, and there's no need to go far to be able to enjoy dining out, as the Park hosts its own bar/restaurant, as well as a wealth of activities, from a sauna and gym to tennis courts and an outdoor pool; you're well-catered to here!

Head into Abersoch, where you can pick up any essentials from its well-stocked shops, as well as dine at one of the many eateries on the high street, before wandering down to one of the two gorgeous beaches, where plenty of surfing and sailing are on offer.

Spend the day in Llanbedrog, a village that is home to its own gorgeous beach, as well as access to the famed Pas Glyn y Weddw Gallery, and to the Llyn Coastal Path.

There is still so much more waiting to be discovered in the wider area, from the Peninsula's details of Mynydd Mawr and Plas yn Rhiw, to the mainland's sights of Eryri (Snowdonia) and its own coastal towns.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
