  • "Absolute gem of a cottage, the grounds are beautifully maintained and looked after."

The host met us on arrival and showed us round, she really made us feel welcome. The cottage is very spacious inside with everything you could need for a wonderful holiday. The only thing it would benefit from would be a wall mounted shower head and curtain in the main bathroom.

  • "Lovely, spacious property, ideal for large family groups."

Beautifully furnished and generally very well equipped, although, as mentioned in the feedback of others, a hair dryer and a shower screen in the main bathroom would be helpful additions. Host, Mary, lives on site and was helpful, friendly and communicative. Really enjoyed our stay!

  • "Excellent property and perfect for our family of 5 , grandparents and a dog!"

Thanks for a wonderful stay. Front door was jamming as was discussed. Only comment for longer term would be a shower curtain or cubicle in main bathroom would be beneficial.

  • "The owners were absolutely delightful and couldn't do enough for us to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable."

However, we expected a hair dryer and towels to be provided but this didn't spoil our stay. Can highly recommend the Shippons.

  • "We were sad when we had to leave!"

The house was great, surrounded by beautiful scenery, it would have been hard to not have a good time. Beautiful house with a great garden to relax in, close to Abersoch village & beach plus local shop just round the corner. Would highly recommend and hope to return again ourselves.

  • "Property in general was satisfactory however some areas require improvement."

Sofas are quite uncomfortable and would benefit from the cushions being refilled. The bed in the large family room is uncomfortable and would benefit from a new mattress. On a practical level the main bathroom would benefit from a main shower as accessing the ensuite when a large party can be tricky. Quite a few light bulbs out so no lighting in the hall, easy to resolve. Ensuite shower blocked so would recommend checking in between guests. Good location for accessing Abersoch.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
