  • "Brilliant peaceful location in which to watch the wildlife and generally enjoy being away from everyone."

Hearing the choughs in the morning while enjoying breakfast was great. Would happily return in the spring. Only one request. Could there be some hand soap in the kitchen so you can wash your hands as soon as you return to the cottage from the great outdoors.

  • "The cottage was in a good location as we like a quiet and natural environment."

Would be nice to have had cushions and sun brolly for the outside seating due to to hot weather we experienced. Overall the cottage was everything it said it was and thank the owners for their attention to detail and use of secure bike store.

  • "Ty Hen is perfect little bolt hole nestled at the foot of some wonderful walking trails."

The views from the top of the hill next to the cottage are absolutely stunning. The cottage itself is equipped with all you need and in a great location. The gardens are beautiful we loved the ‘secret garden’ to sit and watch the wild rabbits. There is a 5min drive or 20-30min walk into Aberdaron for supplies (SPAR and Chippy etc) The roads to the cottage are single track and a bit tricky to navigate oncoming traffic…just a heads up!

  • "Th Hen is a truly beautiful cottage in a commanding position on the hillside."

We enjoyed the uninterrupted view from Porth Or to Aberdaron Bay every time we stepped out of the door .We soon.became used to the narrow lanes and enjoyed the proximity of Aberdaron and Potty Or. It was such a comfortable and well appointed base to return to,and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We very much hope to return next year. Many thanks, Phil.

  • "Lovely Cosy cottage everything we needed, very clean."

The couple who own it are very helpful , the only drawback ,which was ok for us, is if your not fit you would have to use your car most days, we walked into Aberdaron down the lane, only two miles, and then there are lots of coastal walks around, but as I say it would suit people who enjoy walking , there are lots of places to visit but you do need a car to get to most of them. Didn’t put us off as this is what we wanted and thoroughly enjoyed it,

  • "Lovely cottage and very peaceful."

Only one comment. Would have liked more crockery and cutlery. Dishwasher (only half full) had to be used everyday as we ran out of plates and bowls. Everything else was great. Aberdaron is a lovely village.

Quiet and peaceful but walking/running distance from the village of Aberdaron, where you can find everything you need! The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, and spacious, towels and bedding provided making it so much easier and great to arrive to made up beds! Very friendly hosts, easy check in and check out. We wanted for nothing. Great for families, friends or a couple.

  • "Another lovely stay at Ty Hen."

Extra Covid precautions (no books/dvds/ loose cushions) and plenty of hand gel and paper towel were no problem. We've stayed here many times over the last 12 years and plan to come again! One suggestion would be less china and glass and more plastic for hot and cold drinks.

  • "Beautiful location, lovely cottage with loads of room and well equipped kitchen."

Sadly we found the beds so uncomfortable that after 4 nights of no sleep we decided to cut our holiday short . Also the cottage had areas that smelt like a Tom cat had got in and left it’s scent which is something I found irritating.

Many thanks for you feedback. All the issues have been resolved. The mattresses were purchased before the new season in March 2019. There is no concerns to be worried in the review as the smell has also been investigated. Property Owner

  • "This cottage is everything you need to spend a relaxing holiday, the views and scenery are stunning and you get to see the most beautiful sunrises right in front of your bed."

The house is clean and well equipped with good facilities/entertainment(improvements required listed at the end of the review), it accommodates 5 people nicely although you might want to notice that there is only one double bed. There is a well laid out and clean garden square as well for the kids to play and the cute lambs grazing in front of the cottage are a real treat to watch. If you are interested you could even hike a little mountain on the back of the cottage to get some stunning views of the sea and amazing sunset too over the sea. This is a bit far from the snowdonia park(an hour ish drive) but a lovely place to stay if you love to explore coastal places/ beaches and would not mind driving to other places. beaches are just <2 miles drive and pubs/shop too. Can park upto 3-4 cars easily A welcome pack would have been more appreciated as we missed to buy milk and ended up not getting one due to the early closing hours Also the shower stopped working (at no ones fault) as the switch is a bit unusual but clear instructions would be helpful Cooking utensils are sufficient but need more pans as we ended up doing stuff in sequence as there was only on pan!(plenty of pots though) Some basics like salt.spices would be nice
