The property

A cosy cottage, located at the end of a private driveway and adjacent to the owners’ home, with a wood-clad exterior and cedar wood shingle roof, sitting prettily against a wooded backdrop, in the historic market town of Church Stretton.

This charming holiday cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway for two, near to Carding Mill Valley and less than five minutes’ walk from the town centre, in the heart of the South Shropshire hills.

Set all on one floor and beautifully-furnished throughout, this unique cottage has a well-equipped kitchen, leading through to the stylish double bedroom with a dining area and a sitting area.

The attractive sitting area comes complete with a warming woodburner, whilst French doors lead from the dining area out to the private patio, set within the cottage’s garden, with views across the nearby woodland.

Sit back and unwind on the comfortable sofas whilst watching a film, or enjoy some music by connecting a device to the Bluetooth speakers.

On warmer days, there’s no better place to relax than on the secluded patio, having enjoyed a gentle stroll into Church Stretton or an invigorating walk in the Carding Mill Valley, after tea and cakes at the superb National Trust tea room.

The Shropshire town of Church Stretton is a real delight to visit, with independent shops, cafes and pubs aplenty, not to mention spectacular views to the Caradoc and Long Mynd Hills.

Take a drive up the Burway or set out on foot from the cottage and it is easy to see why this part of Shropshire is known as Little Switzerland.

There is plenty to keep you entertained in the surrounding area, with quality golf courses, birdwatching, hang gliding, cycling, National Trust and UNESCO World Heritage sites and any number of interesting towns and villages nearby.

With all this and more just waiting to be explored, Woodpeckers Cottage is the perfect romantic base for discovering the numerous attractions splendid South Shropshire has to offer.
