....and we weren't disappointed. This cottage is absolutely beautifully furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean. There are games and books for rainy days! Imagine our surprise when we arrived and saw it was even decorated for Christmas with lovely gfifts left by the owners. Stan loved his gift too - thank you! The courtyard was ideal for him too, he could have a little wander safely. Thank you Richard and Debbie we will most definitely be back (hopefully it won't rain so much next time!!)

  • "Lovely cottage in a quiet and convenient location just behind Bala high street, which has a Co-op and a few pubs, restaurants and takeaways."

Kitchen is well-equipped, the bed was comfortable and we really appreciated the parking permit. We found it tricky to lock the front door the first time (you need to raise the handle and keep holding it raised while you lock the door - quite tricky if you are holding a dog lead, or anything else). When we called the owners to ask them about how to lock the door, we felt like a nuisance rather than a valued guest.

Five minute walk to lake and high street.Only down side was I had my little dog with me and, as there was no bedroom door, it was difficult to keep him secure at night, either downstairs or upstairs. Hot water went off while i was there and the owner was very prompt in getting it fixed by his lovely cleaner Cath who also came back to see everything was ok later in the day. If a bedroom door was added I wouldnt hesitate to return.

It was our first trip with our dog (Cav King Charles Spaniel) and it was ideal. Nearby there is a lake with stunning views, and the best of it all is a huge parking lot with provided parking permit right next to the cottage. The permit can be used at plenty of car parks all around Snowdonia, where long stay bays are usually available while the short stay is usualy full in the high season. It saved us quite a bunch of money :-) There is so much to see in Snowdonia, and Bala is a great spot for your base camp :-) The only thing we didn't really like was the sound of roof window opening/closing which probably bothered all neighbours, and crows gathering next to the window every day at 5am :-D but it was part of the charm.
