The holiday cottage was great, the owner was there to meet us and show us around the property. There was a beautiful garden and the cottage itself was really spacious with everything you could need and some thoughtful touches. We really enjoyed the location and the beautiful scenery of Wales. We had our dog with us and it was the perfect place to make the most of dog walks, but also open water swimming and paddle boarding on Bala Lake, some runs round part of the lake, a round of golf at a beautiful if not challenging course a few minutes from the cottage, horse riding on the beach and visits to some lovely places. In the evenings the cottage was the perfect place to relax and there were numerous games to play. A thoroughly enjoyable week.

"We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Bala."
The house is perfectly placed up a steep hill with amazing views. It´s a great base to explore the area. The house itself has lots of nice touches, the amount of family board games was exceptional and we made great use of them. The bedrooms are basic and the low ceilings in some and the bathroom may be difficult for very tall people! But it all adds to the charm of the place. Having our dog with us was super important to us, the outside space is very well maintained and we spent most evenings enjoying the sun in the garden. The Guest book is very detailed with ideas for places to visit as a family with 2 teenagers we explored the following Bala Lake just a few mins walk away has lots of watersports on offer paddle boarding kayaking etc. 15 mins drive to the Whitewater rafting centre ‘ would highly recommend this place! Then about an hour away to Penryhn Quarry to one of the ZipWorld sites again, outstanding for activities for the family. On top of that, Bala itself has some lovely things to offer. Restaurants including the top rated on trip advisor “Old Wives Tale” which is a quaint Portuguese restaurant where the chef is the waiter and host and it feels like you are dining in his house . Amazing. Towns of Betws Y Coed is worth a visit and also has another smaller zip world experience.

Bedding, towels, toiletries, fully equipped kitchen; it truly felt like walking into a home rather than a rented space. Owner was lovely, welcoming and friendly (with two adorable dogs) and helped us to feel right at home. Views from the cottage are spectacular, overlooking Bala itself and the lake. Plenty of shops and amenities within a short walk so if you plan on an extended stay it is easy to keep the fridge/freezer stocked. 10/10 would recommend to anybody looking for a quiet, cosy retreat away in Wales and will hopefully be able to return again ourselves for another stay in the future.

Really well equipped and some lovely, thoughtful additions for the festive period such as the extra fridge and freezer. The cottage was also beautifully decorated for Christmas. The welcome hamper was also such a lovely touch. It is only a short walk from town but a bit of a steep climb home. Alwenna was there with a lovely friendly greeting to talk us through the details such as heating / parking etc.

All things we needed and more. My only thing I would like to mention is it would be great if there was a light strip or something on that small step from living area onto hall to bedrooms. (Similar to the small light on step into bedroom). Otherwise it was brilliant. Cosy, comfortable and an ideal place to stay. Lovely owners. Only had small chats, but very pleasant and welcoming. We arrived in the dark to a very warm welcome by the owners. When we woke up the next day we were astounded by the beautiful views straight out the window! The location is perfect, an easy walk down the hill to Bala and then snowdoniavand the coast on your doorstep. We lived it!

We all felt so comfortable here and I slept so well in the peace and quiet. It is perfectly situated, close enough to shops etc but far enough away to be peaceful. The owners have thought of everything to make a comfortable stay and little touches like milk in the fridge and biscuits are so thoughtful. A lot of people use the cottage as a base to visit places. We didn't travel far as we just wanted a relaxing, quiet break and the cottage was also the perfect place for just sitting and reading, looking at the views and just wandering about! Our little dog also loved her holiday and was made to feel very welcome.

Lovely welcome pack with Welsh goodies. Great wet room with loads of space. A very quiet area but a good base to see the rest of Wales and plenty of walks for us and the dog. The only thing to improve for us was the outside space. Mostly to accommodate child and dog. No where to let the dog off and play football or games.

Extremely well equipped (tea, coffee, sugar etc were provided and there was even a slow cooker in the kitchen cupboard) and everything thought of to make the stay enjoyable. Our doggie loved it and with it being a 10 minute walk from town, it’s ideally situated (though you might want to drive in if you don’t like walking up hills). We will definitely be back! Loved our little getaway.

We had everything we needed for our stay in terms of what was provided. It’s a cozy, comfortable cottage and we would happily stay again. The cottage was a perfect base for using our kayak on the lake and the downstairs wet room was very handy for wet equipment.

Owners were so lovely and very attentive if we needed anything and even brought us an extra fridge as it was Christmas incase we needed it. "When we arrived the owner let us in and there was strong smell,that smelt like fresh varnish."
I didnt mention it as I thought it would improve. It turned out that the smell did not disappear and affected my daughter and gave her head ache. I complained and was told the smell was from the boiler which had been serviced a week ago. They told me it should go away. It did not go away and they called out a plumber to look at it. The plumber agreed it was probably to do with it being serviced. I mentioned that they should have informed us of the strong smell from the boiler, owner was adamant he could not smell anything. I was disappointed with his attitude and response. The cottage itself was well equipped however it was dusty in places and there was evidence of woodworm in the beams. The upstairs toilet door and door leading into the kitchen kept jamming, which is a hazard.

Our call was answered quickly (by somebody in the UK - not a foreign call centre!!) and the lady I spoke to answered my questions with certainty and put my mind at rest that our booking was secure even if travel restrictions changed. Cannot recommend our accommodation highly enough. A beautiful cottage in a stunning location with great views. Better equipped than some '5-star' hotels I've stayed in. Spotlessly clean, lovely comfy beds, awesome shower and even left us some tablets for the dishwasher! Our hosts were lovely people who even helped me get my poorly dog inside after he needed a trip to the local vets. Cannot thank them enough for their hospitality.

We had an extended stay as we were in the process of moving home. Found the area extremely beautiful especially in winter. We found the cottage met our needs admirably for a long stay (4 weeks) and the views over Bala with glimpses of the lake very Dylan Thomas. After we have settled in our new home we would certainly consider the cottage for a holiday in 2021 if conditions allow as Snowdonia lends itself to a lot more exploration. And we would look forward to shopping again at Mr Roberts the butcher to sample more of his excellent products and ready made meals. (faggots and pork pies deff. at top of list)

The cottage was incredibly well-stocked for a holiday home - never any problems finding kitchen implements and gadgets for cooking. Location was great - within walking distance of the high street (albeit up a VERY steep hill back) and an easy drive to many local attractions. Plenty of parking available. The only thing possibly missing was a private outdoor seating area - I think we could have used the garden next door, but it felt we might be imposing on the owners' space. Nonetheless, would highly recommend.

We met the owner of the cottage on arrival and he gave us a tour of the place, showing us where the appliances are and making himself available whenever should we need help. The cottage itself is set back from the town up a quiet country road and provides tremendous peace and tranquility. We were very happy to walk up the hill back to the cottage after days out/trips to the pub, it only burned off those extra calories! However in Bala itself there are plenty of places to park if you didn’t fancy the walk back. All applicances worked like a dream, the washing machine came in handy a couple of times after some muddy hiking as well as sailing on the magnificent lake. We are very happy, and are planning a return in the near future.

only disappointment was photos depict large garden area available. this was actually away from cottage, and was an area in owners garden that we could have access to. This is not ideal for all dog owners. Fortunately ours are happy to stay close and not run away and there was a small private road and grass edge outside door we could use. But this should be made clear in details. Owners were very quick to resolve a couple of small issues we had in the cottage, also provided a couple of fans as it was very warm. The place was very clean and lovely and quiet.

This lovely barn conversion is situated in an elevated position above the charming village of Bala.
