  • "We had a lovely stay in this warm cottage in Bala."

It was spacious and clean and the owner was very responsive when we had a difficulty. We were there to go mountaineering in the snow, but could see that it would be lovely in the summer too !

It was a pleasure to have Philippa staying. I was pleased that I could help when they had difficulty when one of the party had an injury to the knee by letting her stay longer. Property Owner

So quiet, and yet a 'stones throw' from beautiful Bala Town. Bungalow was incredibly clean, had everything that we needed, and more! Rhian (owner) 'checked-in' with us to see if everything was ok. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, huge kitchen, large driveway, lovely conservatory etc etc... would certainly recommend, and would return! Thank you

  • "Fantastic property with everything you will need."

Beds are very comfortable, as are the sofas, we enjoyed our morning coffee in the conservatory every day. There are lots of interesting things to do within a 30 minute drive. If you fancy something further afield, you can book a boat trip around puffin island and along the Menai strait which we greatly enjoyed. We will definitely book this property again!

  • "There was a lack of cutlery and pans that worked on the hob."

We’re not sure if pans were suitable for type of hob. Plastic silver spoons were in place of metal ones. Limited plates, bowls etc and certainly not enough for the family of 6. Utensils seemed to be from the 70’s and lack of any modern equipment to use in the kitchen for cooking. Glasses dirty in the cupboard on our arrival. Hairs/debris not cleaned up from the last guests. Not cleaned well enough, particularly the bathroom. Conservatory equipment dated and general feel that this place requires some new furniture/mattresses to bring it up to the 21st century. The springs coming through the single bed room mattresses was pretty bad and my children noted this when usually they wouldn’t notice things like that. The dining table and chairs were wobbly when we sat at it. Location was brilliant. Parking was good too. Plenty of places to dry wet clothing from the lake. It was in a nice, quiet area and we felt really safe there. The lady we dealt with was really lovely over the telephone and was really helpful.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry Tremyfron did not meet your expectations. We always ensure the property is cleaned to the highest standard as this is very important to us as reflected in our reviews. We do feel that there is sufficient crockery and kitchen utilities for at least 6 people. We have replaced 2 pans after your stay as we found that these were all burnt. The mattresses provided are memory foam so there are no springs but we are sorry if you found them not to your liking. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

However, compared to other holiday let’s we have used in recent years, this one would benefit from some upgrades such as WiFi, welcome pack, provision of towels, hooks on bedroom doors, towel hooks in bathroom, guest comments book. On plus side, owner did contact us during stay to check all was ok and we enjoyed our break very much. Thank you.

  • "We had a lovely stay at tremyfron, and it was lovely to meet the owner who came to check a all was ok."

The cottage was clean, comfy, and in a great location for local amenities which are only 5 mins walk away. Bala Spice Indian is wonderful. We had a lovely meal from there. During our stay we visited Rhug Estate farm shop, the food in there is lovely, there is a nice play area for the kids, and the shop is full of lovely produce. We also went on the little narrow gauge stream train. It was a great experience. The boys really loved it. Regarding the cottage there are a few things missing such as a guest handbook telling you about the cottage and appliances. There are notes in the kitchen but these are looking tatty and could get misplaced. Handy to have them in one binder altogether. I know we were only the for a weekend but spare bin liners would have been useful as we had 2 small children with us and bins fill up fast with them! And one last minor thing a cheese grater would be good. Bala is a lovely place and somewhere I have visited many times as a child. Thank you for letting your cottage to us. We really enjoyed our stayb and recommend the cottage.

It was overall a nice and pleasant place to reside in over a period of a week. The property was clean. A very comfortable night's sleep. Cooker was excellent. The instructions left by the owner regarding machinery ought to be updated/ better presented. The conservatory was very nice indeed. The outdoor lights weren't working, which made it difficult to come in at night. I would appreciate wi-fi. I would definitely recommend and consider renting once again.
