"A very cosy cottage in a picture postcard village."
The cottage had everything you needed to enjoy your stay, including a gorgeous log burner but unfortunately it wasn’t cold enough to light. There were also plenty of instructions to help you use heating, hot water etc. and plenty of books and games for a rainy afternoon. A great holiday. Will definitely be back!
Thank you for your great feedback and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"We chose the cottage as we wanted to be in beddgelert- the cottage is in the perfect spot."
The cottage is very small and compact but has pretty much everything you could need. It was a bit of a struggle to get it warm and cosy particularly as it was cold and wet a lot of the week we were there. There is obviously an ongoing issue with damp, and there is a serious leak on the velux which drips on to the bathroom floor whenever it rains!! Overall we had a good week- you are paying for the location though! We did find the copious amounts of laminated instructions stuck everywhere a bit hilarious!
Thank you for your comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and always appreciate feedback from our guests as it helps us to make the necessary improvements to make the cottage as a welcoming as possible. Damp is always a problem in a grade 2 listed building from the 1870s and is common in the area due to the climate. We are continuously exploring avenues to ease the situation and attend to this as regularly and as often as we can. The Velux window had only just begun to leak and we have had back to back guests since it happened. However, we have been here ourselves for a few days now, with torrential rain most days, and the leak is far from 'serious'. but this is currently being addressed. We are glad you found the notices hilarious but you would be surprised how many people need information spelling out! Thank you again and we hope to welcome you another time.

"There was a leak in the bathroom which we reported, this was a velux window so every time it rained it created a puddle on the floor."
This was jot fixed during our stay. There was white dog hair covering the rug and sofa which was also reported. The hoover was broken so unable to clean the rug but don't expect to have to do that at the start of the holiday. There was mildew on the net curtain in the lounge and a lot of mould marks near the front door which I took photos of. The cottage seemed to be in the middle of being decorated with splodges of paint throughout. I would not return to this cottage.
Thank you for your feedback. As you know, we responded very quickly when you contacted us although I understand that communication did not fix the leak. However, as you will appreciate, it is difficult to predict when there may be a problem and the window had not leaked up until this point. We were not able to get it fixed during your stay because it would need monitoring and investigating to identify where the rain was actually coming in, which would have been an invasion of your time. This is now being addressed. We contacted our cleaner regarding the dog hair and she assured us that she cleaned thoroughly and agreed there had been a lot of hair from previous guests. It is unfortunate that there was some residual hair, and we can only apologise. The vacuum cleaner was not great, but it did work, however we have now replaced it with a new one. With regards to some mildew building up, I know you will understand that this is a late 19th century cottage and it is a continuous rolling programme of maintenance. We are in the process of painting the cottage as you pointed out. We are sorry you feel you can not return to the cottage but of course that is your decision.

"Had a big water leak through the roof and down the walls into the utility/bathroom area which ran into the kitchen, spent half of Tuesday trying to mop it up, large patches of mould on half the walls, came home a day early due to weather forecast predicting heavy rain, not prepared to spend another day mopping water up."
I really ought to be putting bad reviews on the sites this cottage is on.
Dear Sir. Thank you for your feedback, however we were unaware of any problem and acted very quicky getting a roofer out on the day you left. He and a keyholder, who went to check on the property, both confirmed that the walls, floor and partitioning curtain were dry and no signs of 'flooding', as you informed us, were evident. The guests that went in after you on Friday (following the rain all day Thursday and Friday) also confirmed this and we, too, arrived today and have found the walls and floor to be dry. The roofer found a small area of flashing had been raised during the recent severe storms and has told us that a slight water ingress would only occur when the rain is at a certain pitch. He is rectifying the situation this week. Further to your comment that 'half the walls are covered in mould' we feel is a huge exaggeration as this was only in the area where we have now found the slight ingress, and is already cleaned up. We are sorry you felt obliged to leave early due to the weather.

"We were impressed with the cottage and would likely stay there again."
We used the throws to keep warm along with the electric heater. Not keen on open fires. In the warm summer months it would be an ideal place to stay in order to go to local attractions.
Thank you for your feedback Steve, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hopefully accommodating you again.
