  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The cottage is in a superb location with ample parking. The property was clean and welcoming on our arrival with a very drinkable bottle of wine left for us. The only issue we had was that we had underestimated how we would cope with the double bed ( that is our issue) . We have a king-size. Otherwise the facilities were perfect and I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to others.

Comfy cottage, well equipped everything you need. Good location, bus from the village to Pen-Y-Pass to walk up Snowdon. Caernarfon and Portmeiron short journey away and drove to Anglesey about 55 min. Lovely walk to Aberglasslyn on the doorstop. Parking at the front, nice peaceful garden. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay to explore this area, thoroughly enjoyed it

Comfy beds, plenty of hot water and a log burner for cosy nights. Location was perfect for us, lots of walks nearby and most places we visited were not too long to drive to. We will definitely stay here again

  • "Lovely cottage in Beddgelert with the advantage of off road parking outside of the house and only a short stroll into the village."

Everything you need for a comfortable stay, including enough wood for the fire for your first night. More wood can be purchased from the village store. Great garden if you are visiting with a dog (not secure though which wasn't an issue for us) and lovely views from every window. We even had early spring sunshine so we could sit out on the bench with a cuppa. Real home from home and we really enjoyed our week there x

Thank you for your review, you obviously enjoyed your stay as others can read from your feedback. In view of this we are slightly confused with your breakdown score of 81/100 as your lovely comments are not reflected in this. Best wishes Ann and Rik Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful holiday cottage."

So cosy, clean and comfortable with a delightful charm and an authentic feel as it is an old miners cottage. Fabulous location with breath taking views from the windows. The cottage was very well equipped and the owner had logs for the log burner and a welcome bottle of wine. The town which is absolutely magical is a stones throw away and my mother who struggles to walk any great distance manged the walk into town quite fine.We absolutely loved our time there and will be returning to Sygun View as soon as we can. I highly recommend this cottage.

    Loved the log burner!

Thank you once again for your feedback in relation to your October 2021 stay. I can confirm that since 12th February 2022 a new cleaner has been employed at the cottage. Property Owner

  • "The house is very well situated with excellent views and a great base for walking ."

The weather was very kind to us but that’s pot luck anyway . We had 5 adults staying in the house and we did find it slightly cramped and one of the bedrooms , the bed wasn’t big enough to accommodate 2 adults . The cleanliness was a big issue . In the kitchen several drawers were full of grease and one of the cupboards had spilt sticky food on the shelves left by previous guests . As well as this there were far too many cobwebs which suggests that dusting was down to a mere minimal , and considering that with COVID the emphasis was on scrupulous cleaning , we were disappointed to say the least. However , we still enjoyed our stay there as much of the time we were out walking .

Thank you for your valuable feedback in relation to your September 2021 stay. We are so sorry that you found issues with the cleanliness of the cottage. We can confirm that since 12th February 2022 a new cleaner has been employed at the cottage. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is clean, cozy and well equipped."

The owner goes the extra mile, there is extra info provided in addition to that in the Sykes listing. The garden is dog friendly to an extent but not dog secure, once we were made aware of possible sheep/goat visitors we checked every time before letting dogs into the garden so we had no problems. There is no separation of front and back garden so if you come back and forget to close the front gate you could have escapees. All said, once you are aware of all this you just need to be vigilant . Overall a lovely place to stay.

  • "The cottage was lovely & the setting fabulous."

Unfortunately it wasn't suitable for 6 adults, only 5 comfortable chairs in the lounge & was extremely cramped. There was no mention in the listing of the amount of uneven steps into the cottage & up into the garden, my parents are both in the 70s & my mum is waiting for a knee replacement & she really struggled getting in & out of the cottage. Also there is no washing line or airer to hang wet clothes which was a pain, not everything can go in a dryer! Would be a fabulous getaway cottage for less people but definitely not for the infirm

Dear Mrs Killick Thank you for staying at Sygun View, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. I understand that your booking was made online and therefore you would have had full access to the property description. Firstly with regards to the hanging of wet clothes, there is a purpose built rail across the hall with coat hangers specifically put there for wet coats which is in addition to the normal coat hooks. With regards to your other comments, Sygun View is a ‘traditional end terraced (miners) cottage’ and the photos quite clearly show the size of the interior including the number of sofa’s chairs etc. The exterior photos also show the numerous stairs up to the front door of the property and the outside areas are also described in full. Perhaps if you reread the description more carefully you will also see that at the end of the Property Summary there is a note which quite clearly states the following - Note: Property is not suitable for those with limited mobility due to external steps. Kind regards, Ann Hayden, Sygun View. Property Owner

About the location

BEDDGELERT

Porthmadog 7.7 miles; Caernarfon 12.8 miles.

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. A 20 minute stroll along the river will take you to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’ most famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Beddgelert is famed for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn's dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover afterwards it had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack. With Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Borth y Gest and the whole of the Llyn Peninsula easily reached, this is an ideal location for a Welsh holiday.
