  • "The cottage was beautiful, cosy and clean."

It's position is ideal as we could get to all the different areas of interest well within 30 mins drive in most cases. Hikes around Snowdon or its surrounding hills at Beddgelert and mountains to the North, Portmeirion, Harlech etc. Even a slightly longer treck up to Bodnant which was stunning. Kitchen is well equipped and we really appreciated the little bottle of fizz, and Welsh cakes. We'd brought some milk up so didn't need to open the one provided but it was appreciated. The only slight issue we had was that the bedding was all feathered, which played a bit with my allergies, but purchasing a couple of pillows from Tesco in Porthmadog solved the problem after the first few nights of waking up a little breathless and swollen eyes etc. It might be worth having non allergenic pillows available as alternatives in the wardrobe, but it was easily solved and sleep was much better after the purchase. We definitely highly recommend Waterloo Cottages. Also, worth noting the WiFi connection is good here. We've stayed in some places where the internet was not reliable. Especially handy as we were able to plug in the Chromecast to the smart TV in the cottage and watch the CL Cup Final on the first night :) the internet had no issues at all.

  • "Couldn't be happier."

Clean, comfortable and a feeling we weren't just another couple staying at a rental but had been welcomed as if friends. Real consideration to comfort and well equipped. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

  • "This is a lovely, traditional, cottage set in a quiet area."

We found we could park outside, or close to, the property which is set up a slight. I mention this as this can be difficult in this area with some rental properties. We had a slight issue which, credit to the owner, was sorted extremely quickly and efficiently. We would certainly re-book.

  • "This was such a lovely cottage."

Great location, and decent mountain hikes accessible from the front door! The cottage is also only 20-30 mins away from main hiking spots in Snowdonia. The feel of the cottage was super cozy and comfortable. We stayed over Xmas and the owners decorated the place which made it feel super festive as well. I would highly recommend booking this cottage. The only thing you need to remember Blaenau Ffestiniog is a working slate mine so it is pretty industrial and raw (which I really like liked)!! All in all, great booking and would def stay again

  • "Lovely cosy cottage in perfect location to explore North Wales region."

Cottage very clean and well maintained. Only problem is the parking. Always doing battle with local residents to find a space to park on a narrow street. Anyone travelling in a hybrid/electric vehicle done expect to recharge overnight as you are not guaranteed to park outside the property

"Thank you for your feedback and kind words, we are so pleased to hear you found the cottage to be cosy and clean. We appreciate your comments about parking, we do state that parking is on street on a first come first served basis, and we give details of two alternative close by locations where parking is usually possible, just a short walk back to the cottage from both. We do not currently provide electric car charging at the Cottage due to safety concerns in doing so, and the risk of overloading our power supply resulting in the electrics being blown and guests then being left without power. We are in the process of updating our welcome pack to include details of the nearest charging points for those with electric vehicles, and we kindly ask guests to respect our wishes that vehicles are not charged from the Cottage's electricity supply" Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location for visiting the national park and walking."

Parking was not always available outside but we parked on the road above; only a short walk down. Welsh is spoken widely, which was great and everyone we spoke to switched to English for us. The town lacks facilities but has the essentials. Only a few places to eat in the town itself; we used the Indian restaurant and the fish and chip shop. Good local coop for supplies. There are a few local pubs which were quite lively.

  • "Great little cottage, the waterfall next to the cottage adds that special little something."

Bed was really comfy, even if a little small for two guys at 6f 4 & 6f 5 but that can't be helped. Ideally situated within Snowdon National Park. Porthmadog not too far away and can reccomend Grandmas Tea Room there. Really happy with this last minute booking.

  • "A really comfortable , cosy and well equipped cottage."

We selected it because the decor and furnishings were to our taste as a pair of architects who do a lot of work on historic buildings --- and we were not at all disappointed. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed unwinding on wet days by spending time cooking. So pleased you anticipated the challenge of limited parking and provided clear guidance on nearby locations. Our biggest thanks are for the organisational response to Covid --- with our original booking in May being unworkable due to restrictions you very kindly transferred this to later in the year and seamlessly handled the detailed issues still applying when we could eventually stay with you. Many thanks to all involved.
