The property

The Old Barn is exactly what it says it is, a splendid old stone building.

Now carefully restored it is a beautiful holiday house in a peaceful location with a very pretty, small enclosed garden.

It is just a short walk from the well known Bodnant Gardens in the Conwy valley. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area is a great space.

The cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove for the winter months, and French windows which open on to the sweet terrace with table and chairs surrounded by an enclosed garden for the summer. The kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker and oven, microwave and all the utensils that you could need.

The farmhouse kitchen table seats six. There are two bedrooms down stairs, one twin and one double.

There is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower over, loo and wash hand basin.

The bathroom is also home to the washing machine. Upstairs is the master bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom and a delightful balcony.

This is the perfect spot for a morning cup of tea or an evening glass of something special.

The pretty enclosed garden has a table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy listening to the bees buzzing and the birds singing. By kind permission of Bodnant estate, guests are allowed to walk the network of private paths on the surrounding land.

A map is provided.

Please keep your dog on a lead. Nestling in the heart of the Conwy valley, known for its spectacular scenery, Llanrwst, Snowdonia National Park, Betws y Coed and Llandudno are all a short drive away.

Warm and snug, The Old Barn is just the retreat to relax and recharge your batteries. Short breaks are available during the quieter months with flexible changeover days.

About the location

EGLWYSBACH

Conwy 8 miles; Llandudno 9 miles; Betws-y-Coed 12 miles.

The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoilt historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by are good beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and surfing in Snowdonia and the surrounding hills.

Region Information

Note: Except for the parking strip and the garden which adjoins the house shown on the plan, the land immediately around the Old Barn is private and NOT available to guests. Public footpaths are shown on the OS map provided. In addition, by kind consent of the Bodnant Estate, guests are welcome to walk the network of private tracks which is identified by green timber gates marked 'Strictly Private'.
