  • "The Big Dingle was a great place for our family of eight to get together, coming from Stockport and Coventry."

It is very spacious and was clean and tidy. However the twin bedroom was quite cramped for two adults but acceptable for our short, three night stay. The sun room is lovely when the sun is shining, (not being centrally heated, there is a plug in radiator) it has a lovely aspect overlooking the lawned garden which is edged with trees. Church Stretton is a lovely village within beautiful countryside it has cafés, a deli, gift, antique and charity shops. We particularly enjoyed drinking Slumbering Monk beer in The kings Arms! Lunch in Jemima’s was delicious as was the evening meal at the Sawaddee Thai restaurant. The weather was wet so we appreciated the choice of eateries. The rain was so heavy on our leaving day we encountered several floods on the roads. All in all I would recommend The Big Dingle as a great place to stay. Thank you.

  • "This was our second time at the Big Dingle and we weren’t disappointed."

There’s plenty of space around the house for everyone to escape each other. The kitchen is a beautiful space and the dining table is ideal for those family dinner times. The large garden and swings are perfect for the kids and kept them entertained for hours. If you like walking there are plenty of local walks that can be done straight from the house and the local pub is perfect for that post walk pint or the Bacon cheesy BBQ fries are kid’s favourite.

  • "I think the property could have been much cleaner."

It was superficially clean. But the skirting boards were very dirty as were the front of the kitchen cupboards and kickboards. In particular the downstairs cloakroom was not clean. Unfortunately sitting on the toilet you could see the underside of the urinal which wasn’t good. The skirting board, once you closed the door from the inside also wasn’t nice. I understand it’s a big place. And overall the property was lovely. Just a bit more deep cleaning please.

The property is so spacious, beautiful and clean and is located in such a pretty area. We easily walked to the local pub, and also did a long walk in carding mill valley when the sun was out. Also, the bed in the master bedroom was unbelievably comfy! I would definitely book this place again. Thanks again! Linzi

We were fortunate in that we did not need to use many of the wet weather ie. indoor attractions that were within driving distance.

  • "Wow - what a place."

We were a little concerned on arrival as it's very close to the A49. However, needn't have worried! A huge home (just me and my wife on this occasion) and great double glazing. Even sitting in the garden, though, was relatively quiet because of the very thoughtful garden design. The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need - even for a very lengthy stay. The bedroom linen was good quality and the beds were very comfortable. It's in a great location and just minutes away from the beautiful village of Church Stretton. As an aside - it has one of the best Barbour stockists in the area - Peppers - and run by one of the nicest couples you could ever hope to meet. The description of the house is very accurately described on the website so nothing to add there. All in all a beautiful home and one we would not hesitate to use again.

  • "The Big Dingle was a wonderful place to stay and had everything we needed."

We had a week here with our two adult children and two teenagers and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The garden was ideal for playing badminton and football which we took with us although there were some outdoor toys in the shed. The house was lovely and clean and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. The kitchen had everything you could need and had lots of glasses, cups and plates etc. The location is perfect for exploring Shropshire and mid Wales and Church Stretton, which is five minutes down the road, has a co-op, pubs and takeaways. The only slight downside is the noise from the main road and railway. Personally it didn't bother me but my husband and daugther are light sleepers and they were disturbed at night as we had to have the windows open due to warm weather. We have stayed in lots of holiday cottages and this is definitely one of the best and we would all be very happy to stay here again.

Fluffy and comfortable bedding and spotless towels. Hand towels would be helpful as well as the bath sheets. Downside is railway line behind house that started running before 6am and tooted every time a train passed and the busy road on the other side.

  • "Overall we had a great week in the Big Dingle."

Very big and spacious house, comfortable and lovely well-kept gardens. Some garden games provided as well as games indoors. Very close to the main road which is quite loud (quite a few lorries use the road) which may be an issue for some. Also close to the railway line, annoyingly trains use their horns right by the property, some through the night which is not ideal! Tried contacting using the number supplied before we arrived asking for the beds to be made in to doubles, but didn't receive a response. Also messaged about shower blockage in the en-suite but no response received. This lack of response needs addressing in case of urgent issues. Cleanliness generally good, some areas could do with a deep clean though as looks like they haven't been touched in a while. Water temperature dangerously hot, the couple staying in the Little Dingle next door also said the same thing. Needs to be permanently set to a lower temperature to avoid a potential accident. Some sun loungers for the garden would also be a good addition! Enjoyed eating at the Pound Inn up the road, and a walk up the Lawley nearby highly recommended! Despite the above issues we still had a great week, just a few issues off being perfect!

Charlotte and Kevin, the owners were so nice and helpful with the few questions we had. Location was great for the day trips we did in Shropshire. The younger children loved the swings and exploring. The facilities were excellent and the 4 different living areas were all fully utilised from using the Xbox for the older children to peaceful reading in the conservatory. The beds were really comfortable and the bedding was high quality and clean. The whole house was spotless. Two ovens, range style gas hob, microwave, two fridges, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and separate dryer. Fantastic and again spotlessly clean. The owners were friendly and very helpful with local knowledge. Nearest small town of Church Stretton is lovely and we did all of our shopping there. I would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful house.

  • "A wonderful, very large property in a beautiful part of the country."

The living areas, in particular, are extremely spacious with lots of room for a family gathering. The house is extremely well-equipped with an abundance of crockery, cutlery, glasses and every kitchen utensil you could wish for. The house is decorated and furnished to an incredibly high standard - I have stayed in many holiday homes but this is, without doubt, the most beautifully furnished and most comfortable. The outdoor space is also quite rare; a very large, well maintained, mature garden surrounds the property - brilliant for the adults as well as the children! The owners are very friendly and helpful and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit as well as a very generous welcome pack. The house is set back from a fairly busy 50mph road and there is no pavement so walking out from the property, with young children, would be quite difficult. There is also a railway line which runs very close to the property. Neither of these bothered our party at all as the beauty and comfort of the house and its grounds far outweighed road noise etc. We made good use of dining at The Pound Inn, which is within a mile of the property, and serves lovely, affordable food. The fire bowl, within the garden of the house, and extensive outdoor seating area was also well used for BBQs etc. Given the opportunity we would definitely return to this fabulous house in such a lovely part of the country.
