  • "A lovely family house in a good location"

  • "Accuracy of listing was very poor."

There were lots of misrepresentations, including stating there was an upstairs room with ensuite. There were chips in lot of cups and main bed had slat broken so mattress was dipping. Final email from Sykes about clearing up was very aggressive. Location was great and house was clean with good facilities

  • "Lovely home but in need of updating."

The cooker did not work it poured with smoke and made a horrible noise, I did ring and tell them immediately and they said they would send someone round when they could. Unfortunately this did not happen during our whole stay, so the food we bought for our stay was kept in the freezer . So we had to microwave or eat out, which cost us a fortune. Hopefully this gets sorted

  • "Disappointing 5 night stay at 268 Cae Du."

The property needs some TLC and concur with the previous review by Christine, July 2023.

  • "Disappointing 5day stay during which we had to deal with, Noisy floorboards - impossible to walk on and not disturb people trying to sleep downstairs."

Temperamental toilet flushing. Leaking shower making the bathroom floor very wet. Commencement of noisy construction across the road, making it unpleasant to use the balcony, 268 Cae Du has obviously been a much loved family holiday home, but as a rental property needs some TLC and was not value for money.

  • "We have just returned from a very comfortable stay at this lovely holiday home."

The house is in a super position within walking distance to the village and beach. The home was extremely well equipped we literally had everything we needed . The beds were very comfortable and updated from the pictures on the website. The linen and towels were sparkling white. We had a few days of bad weather but the house was warm and cosy and when the sun was shining the balcony is just lovely . The views are absolutely stunning, beautiful sea views. I would 100% stay in this lovely family home again, in fact we are already looking to rebook for our next trip to Abersoch . If I had one negative thing to say is that the bathroom is a little dated but it was spotless - maybe a new mirror with light and replace the metal shelving unit and the shower caddy , the shower was excellent and it certainly wouldn’t put us off. We absolutely loved every minute. Thank you for letting us share your fabulous home.

  • "We would love to stay here again."

This house is a real home from home, and perfect for enjoying time in Abersoch with family or friends. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and happy, and would definitely book to stay here again. The bedrooms and large and spacious with plenty of storage, and the fact that the family bathroom has a shower and a bath was a real bonus. We also really appreciated the extra toilet in the utility room! The kitchen had all the equipment needed, and the lounge and dining room were comfortable too. Our favourite space, however, was the balcony! Beautiful views and a BBQ! What more do you need. We spent a lot of time out here. The location of the home is also great, within walking distance of the park, the spar, the beach and the village. It was lovely and quiet in the evenings too. The neighbours were also welcoming and friendly. All in all we loved this house and can't wait to go back.

  • "We had a lovely week in Abersoch with glorious weather."

The house is in a great location although hard to find. The upstairs of the property has stunning views and is very spacious & comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need & the Weber BBQ was fantastic. The wetsuits, life jackets and beach toys were a lovely surprise. However downstairs was disappointing, we're not convinced the bedsheets were fresh as there was a strange smell from the sheets in 2 of the rooms. As someone has mentioned before the beds are low but I wasn't expecting futon height! The beds could all do with upgrading, the frames are really creaky, rusty & the mattresses are practically on the floor. After a few days our backs were hurting. The shower door doesn't close properly and there's no seal at the bottom so it leaks all over the floor. Some information on bins to use for what rubbish would be helpful as well as the day to put them out. The hoover was full of dirt and hadn't been emptied and the filter in the tumble dryer looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.

Hi Stephen, thank you for your pleasant and honest review. I have raised the issues about the smell, bed sheets and hoover being full with my cleaner and I'm in the process of getting those beds replaced with new ones. Menai have asked the maintenance man to go over and look at the shower door, many thanks for making me aware of these so I can resolve them. I hope to have you back again in the future. • "What a place!"

Perfect for our family of 5 with room for friends to come over too. This house had everything we needed and more (if only we’d looked in the cupboards sooner). Beautiful views, close to the centre, a handy shop only a few minutes away and a park round the corner giving our boys some independence to go visit together - no parents! Bedrooms and bathroom on ground level and lounge kitchen and amazing decking area on the middle floor. Only one drawback… navigating the middle floor at night with the kids in bed is like a scene from Mission Impossible. It’s squeaky and then some. Would definitely recommend and revisit despite the squeaks!

  • "Whilst we enjoyed our stay and the property is lovely, just a couple of things which would have made it more comfortable for us The beds are very low to get in and out of and the mattress was uncomfortable I think it would benefit from blackout blinds or curtains in the front bedroom."

That said I would definitely stay again as it is a lovely place and has excellent views

  • "Immaculate accommodation."

It is approximately a 12 minute walk to the (very nice) beach. Faultlessly hygienic and spacious residence to stay in. Absolute quietness at night conducive to a restful sleep . One observation; Absersoch would benefit from having a few more more eating out options but those already available are of a very good quality. Local attractions are more than enough to keep most Holidayers very satisfied.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
