  • "We had an amazing stay."

Best holiday we have ever had! Can't wait to go back. So comfortable and clean, great surroundings. Plenty of walks for the dog. Shops nearby. Nigel, the farmer, and his wife made us so welcome and even brought us fresh eggs to eat. So peaceful and we had such a relaxing stay. Some of us went to Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks and the Ice cream Farm. Would definitely recommend!!!!

  • "Lovely weekend stay with family in this property."

Clean, comfortable, good accommodation for large family group. Good amenities in kitchen. Sadly didn’t get to use games room. Hot tub always ready, clean and easy to remove cover. Lovely gardens and outdoor furniture for when the weather is good.

  • "Came here for a weekend away with my family."

The size of this place is amazing! Having such big rooms, and so many bathrooms is a real plus when staying away with so many people (11 in total). We loved the hot tub, which is always ready to go, so no waiting around for it to warm up. The beds were really comfy and showers were lovely and hot. The kitchen and dining room is such a good size and a great place for socialising. The kitchen had literally everything you need. We loved our welcome package when we arrived, that was a really nice touch and means so much that the hosts thought about the small details. We took our dog and 3 children and they absolutely loved seeing all the animals so close everyday. The only thing I would say is if your dog is quite young, make sure to shut the gate closest to the games room. Leading onto the games room, this was a hit for all the family and kept us occupied for hours. The location was great, close to Chester and many other places, but far enough that you get the peace and quiet of the countryside. We really loved our stay here and would definitely recommend!

  • "A beautiful, airy, spacious house that feels like home from home."

Great location for visiting Chester, Delamere Forest, Bewilder Wood etc. Great to have sheep and cattle as your neighbours in the adjoining fields and the occasion chickens strutting past your door and rabbits on the front lawn in the evening. The Hot tub was a big hit with children and adults alike. A lovely place to stay.

  • "The property was more than adequate for our extended group, who all had a thoroughly enjoyable mini break."

The property is in a great spot for those wanting a real country setting, and despite being positioned on a working farm, you would hardly know at times. The landlord (Nigel) popped round to check everything was going ok, and was kind enough to invite the children within our party on a mini tour of the farm. The house is well-equipped and made hosting the whole group practically stress free. The local village has a couple of good pubs and cafes and is a pleasant place to visit (albeit around 5km away). The hot tub was a real bonus and a good way to unwind after a day's exploring. We absolutely would have no hesitation in booking again!

  • "Had a great week in the spacious & well kept accommodation."

The kids loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm & owner encouraged their interaction with the farm animals. Easy (driven) access to a number of decent country pubs & Chester attractions.

  • "Great stay at a lovely big farmhouse for all the family."

Nigel was an excellent host - helping resolve issues when required with no fuss. The location was used for a day-trip to Liverpool, climbing Snowdon in the mist & rain and a day out in the Peak District at Bakewell and Monsal Dale. Lots of nearby attractions, things to do, etc. The 2 kids lover the Ice Cream Farm just down the road (it's NOT an ice cream farm . . . it's a theme park for young children !) Would definitely recommend. Thanks to Sykes & Nigel

Surrounded by Cheshire countryside, Tattenhall is a lovely, vibrant village with good amenities and a pretty 19th Century church steeped in history. A weekly country market takes place every Friday morning, where you can find local produce, cakes and crafts, as well as flowers and plants. There are two good pubs in the centre of the village, along with a SPAR supermarket and family butchers; there is also a book shop, a farm shop and cafe, and you can enjoy delicious ice cream at the nearby Cheshire Ice Cream Farm! A short drive away you can visit Beeston Castle, explore the stunning Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, or spend an afternoon at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, The Crocky Trail or Go Ape Delamere Forest! Delamere Forest is great for picnics and birdwatching, and there are several walking and cycle routes to be enjoyed too. The Historic City of Chester can be reached in less than half an hour.
