“The setting of the cottage was lovely, a complete rural idyll.”

On first entering, there was definitely a wow factor. Close inspection revealed that our hosts had anticipated every possible need, and they were extremely friendly and helpful throughout.

The property

Henllan 2 miles.

Set in an idyllic country location, half a mile from the hamlet of Cefn Berain and two miles from the village of Henllan, lies this wonderful, detached holiday home, with undisturbed views over peaceful grazing fields.

This charming country house, located on a quiet country lane, offers spacious ground floor living space and three good-sized, first floor bedrooms comprising two double bedrooms with en-suites and a separate twin room.

Downstairs is a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen with a large pantry, a breakfast table to socialise around and a cosy oil-fired Rayburn stove, a more formal dining room with parquet flooring for evening entertaining, plus a wonderful, airy lounge with patio doors onto the rear garden and the charm and character of a woodburner.

There is also a handy boot room and a cloakroom providing storage for suitcases.

The children will enjoy the TV snug room with a selection of games, books and DVDs to enjoy and you will all enjoy the table tennis table in the garage for a challenging family tournament perhaps.

Outside the enclosed gardens are a delight, carefully maintained and offering a choice of seating areas, with steps from a front patio with an alfresco dining table leading up to a double swing seat and table with two chairs on the front lawn, and wonderful views across the valley from the rear garden to Moel Fodiar.

The surrounding area is teaming with wildlife and delightful country walks, with the Clwydian Way passing across the lane and the owners have family links to a nearby village pub which can be reached on a leisurely walk before taking advantage of the offer of a lift back if required.

There is so much to do in the area with the local outdoor pursuits centre offering everything from whitewater rafting to archery.

The market town of Denbigh is just five miles away for all your shopping needs, and the superb North Wales coastline from Prestatyn to Conwy all accessible in 30 minutes’ drive, there will be plenty to keep you and the family entertained throughout your wonderful holiday.
