“We were very disappointed that the owner did not allow us to defer the holiday until next year.”

In this current climate, we were hoping for some understanding and compassion. We didn’t even ask to cancel; we just wanted to defer until it was safer to be away from home.So feeling forced to go was not the best start to the stay at Casa Deva( we couldn’t afford to forego the cost of this stay). The 75 minute wait to speak to Nikki in the office was tortuous too but she was very efficient and did what she said she’d do( rang the owner who had changed his refund of car parking fees ...

The 75 minute wait to speak to Nikki in the office was tortuous too but she was very efficient and did what she said she’d do( rang the owner who had changed his refund of car parking fees policy from when we booked to when the holiday booking came round annoyingly). However, we did enjoy our stay. The cottage was lovely, well equipped( we would have liked a CD player though for music) very clean, well furnished and in an excellent location if you like going into town, shops, pubs, restaurants and easy access to the city wall. We appreciated all the condiments, the bottle of wine, toilet paper, sweets... all extras we thought but appreciated. We especially appreciated the Netflix and Amazon Prime on both TVs... a real bonus. Yes two TVs... we appreciated the decent size tv in the bedroom which not enough cottages offer, in our opinion. Finally, we’d highly recommend a visit to Crosby beach near Liverpool ( about 40 mins away) to visit Anthony Gormley’s Another Place as a lovely day out, which is a series of figurative sculptures on the beach. Park at the Leisure Centre which is free and very close to the beach. Very moving and evocative, and with a little detour, you can stop at Snugberrys ice cream DRIVE THROUGH on your way back!!! How good an end to the day is that??!

“The rental property is situated right in the very centre of Chester.”

Its only a short walk to Foregate Street, one of the main shopping streets with lots of pubs and restaurants. Just a little further into the city brings you to the walls, which you can walk round. The Shropshire Union Canal is also very close by, so you can have a pleasant walk, or as in our case, a bike ride along it. The Cathederal is very interesting and free to go in. Also has a lovely cafe with good food on offer. We intended to visit Chester Zoo, but they would only accept on-line bookings due to the Covid-19 epidemic. We also had a boat trip on the River Dee, with an interesting commentary given on board, but there are lots of other historic sites to see. The accommodation is on 3 floors, although we didn't use the top floor. The ground floor lounge/dining room leads from the front door to a well equiped and spotlessly clean kitchen. We were spoiled by an enourmous TV in the double bedroom on the first floor. We want one at home now! The property manager was most helpful, and left instructions for all the kitchen equipment, TVs and internet connections. We had a lovely holiday and would thoroughly recommend this particular property to anyone wanting a city break in historic Chester.

“A fabulous little cottage, superb decor, all the appliances and facilities you need for an enjoyable stay.”

Easy access to city centre, river, canal and a varied types of eateries. Excellent communication between key holder. 1 suggestion.. a map of the city would be helpful. 1 niggle .... no car parking, although NCP short stroll away, and is as advertised.

The cottage is really lovely, spotlessly clean, comfortable and in a quiet location. The location was perfect for us with its proximity to Chester city shops, restaurants & lovely walks by the River Dee.

“Casa Deva holiday cottage is in the heart of Chester, so everything in town that you would want to visit, is in walking distance (short walking distance!”

). Despite it's centric location, it's very quite and peaceful in this cottage: perfect for long sleep and good rest. You won't miss anything in this cottage, it's very well-equipped and everything is lovely, brand new, modern, practical and easy to use. I had to turn on the heating a few times and it worked brilliantly: made the whole interior warm in a really short time. All the rooms are stylish and lovely, cosy, but spacious at the same time. I had lived for a few years in Chester in the past, so I was not a first time tourist in town, so trust me, because I know what I am talking about: this is a lovely place and strategically very well located. Train station is a 5 minute walk, cathedral and the town hall is 5 minute walk, story house (local theatre) is a 5 minutes walk, great restaurants and pubs are within 5 minutes walk, riverside, roman archeological remains, museums are within 5-6 minutes walk, the famous Chester Racecourse is a 10 minutes walk... Very attentive and correct owners as well. They care. What else can you wish for? Go for it!!

The property

This mid-terrace cottage sits in a quiet location, close to the city centre of Chester.

Its homely accommodation and convenient location are a perfect match for a couple or small family looking to escape to this wonderful city.

You enter into the porch where you can leave your boots and coats before entering into this lovely dwelling.

The sitting room features two lovely chesterfield sofas and an alluring electric fire, providing a relaxing setup to unwind after a day of exploring the city delights.

The contemporary kitchen is sure to satisfy your culinary needs, with a selection of integrated appliances and ample workspace to prepare delicious meals.

Off the side of the sitting room are the stairs leading to the first floor.

As you climb these, you will come to a half landing that leads to the bathroom on the right and the master bedroom on the left, fitted with a double bed and a wall-mounted TV, should you fancy a chilled morning in bed.

Large windows allow lots of light throughout all of the rooms, making the whole property feel light and airy.

To the outside is a small seating area where you can sip on your morning coffee and plan for the day ahead.

A short walk will bring you to the city centre where you browse an abundance of shops, eat and drink from individual cafes and sample in the selection of quality eateries that make the city a top foodie destination.

Wander the well-maintained grounds of Grosvenor Park or take a cruise on the River Dee.

Nearby, the coastal delights of North Wales are within easy reach, as well as the cities of Liverpool and Manchester, packed with lots to see and do.
