  • "Upon arrival greeted by the friendly owner Arwel, who explained all the facilities and operation of hot tub, also advised if anything else was needed just ask."

We stayed in this quaint cottage with our dog and enjoyed the lovely walks and beaches nearby. All the facilities in the cottage were working fine ( including toilet, as previous review stated there was a problem with it, this must have been repaired before we arrived) Small secured garden area was good for keeping the dog secure whilst enjoying the hot tub

  • "We had a really lovely week at Cegin Foch."

It was cosy, comfortable and well equipped. It’s in a beautiful spot with views of the sea and mountains beyond. We loved the walk through the woodland and fields down to the local secluded beach (took us about 35 minutes). Well located for exploring the coast on either side. Hot tub was great too. Friendly welcome on arrival by the owner. The only downside for us was that the toilet didn’t flush properly- I think the bathroom could do with a total refurb. But I would recommend staying here, Lots of lovely places to visit close by - we went to morfa nefyn, Criccieth, Nant Gwytherin, Pwllheli, Porthmadog, black rock sands and Harlech. Thank you for a lovely stay xx

Met the owners and the family dog Scoobi. Very welcoming and friendly family. The location and cottage was perfect for us as it is in a secluded spot with local walks but only 15 mins from the nearest town. There are only 3 cottages here with loads of personal space and privacy. We are already planning our next trip there.

It is a great base for exploring the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. We visited Llanbedrog, Abersoch, Cricceth, the Rabbit Farm etc but it was really nice to come back and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage and to chill in the hot tub with a drink. The cottage is lovely and cosy with a beautiful sea view from the mezzanine level. Also, the WiFi is good too, so our 10 year old was happy! There is also a communal garden area with kids games. The owner lives next door and was really friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

  • "Cegin Foch, a beautiful cottage in a wonderful secluded area."

Fully equipped for the perfect getaway. An old stone cottage meets modern day living with great Wi-Fi and a modern kitchen with all mod cons. The owners live on site and are so friendly and informative. We visited 6/6 of their recommendations to visit, including Portmerion (book online and arrive about 9am for the best experience), Black Rock Sands (drive your car on the beach), Ty Coch Inn (great food and charming place), the Church in the Sea at Anglesey, loved it, and it's a 20 min pretty walk to the local beach. At the end of each day we relaxed in the spotlessly clean hot tub. We had an amazing week here and would highly recommend, we hope to return.

  • "The shared garden is not dog secure, which is worth bearing in mind if you book Cegin Foch as there is only a very small patio area for the dogs to use."

The cottage itself is very dog friendly and the owner, who met us on arrival, was keen to point this out. We were shown how to operate the hot tub, and given a very helpful list of "must see" places to go with the dogs - we visited them all! Nothing was too much trouble, anything we asked for or needed help with got a very quick response. Would definitely recommend, although if you have large dogs (we have two greyhounds) one of the other properties on site with a larger garden might be a better option

It's a beautiful location and the cottage was homely. Really comfy bed and sofa and a lovely quiet area. There was no info. folder so we had to ask lots of questions. The hosts were really helpful, but we usually prefer to be more self-sufficient. That said, we had some great chats. Some basic info. re. local walks etc. would be useful, e.g. route to the sea.

Even in the bleak February cold, we were able to sit in the hottub and take in the stars that we rarely get to see at home. Our 3 year old loved being able to see the sea from the sky light aswell as the trains going by. The owners were fantastic, always happy to help and the home itself was perfect for the three of us and our dog. Wi-Fi never failed (which is always great.) Just stayed here with my daughter and elderly mum It was a lovely cottage and very comfortable in a good location The hot tub was wonderful The only down side was it took a while to heat up initially so would of been better if heating had been out on the day before arrival

As part of our thorough cleaning procedures, ventilation is essential between change overs. As a result, all windows are open between change overs. As such, this avoids the accumulation of COVID-19 particles on surfaces. These actions are essential procedures as part of our through cleaning before and after guests arrival and check in and in accordance with Welsh Government COVID-19 policies for self-catering accommodation. However, we do manage to get the cottage to a satisfactory temperature before arrival. in addition, we are located in the farmhouse nearby and we welcome guests on arrival to manage and control the heating. We are also available throughout your stay if you have any questions. We have removed our welcome pack but instead, if guests contact us before hand a digital video of cottage rules and guidelines are happily sent over to guests. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place and comfortable."

Welcoming host. Great hot tub and safe enclosed garden which was good for the dog. Would definitely book again. Suggestions that are meant as constructive criticism. The directions were not very clear perhaps better if you say turn left after the butchers as in the dark the bridge can’t be seen. The very late check in at 5.30 meant it was dark on arrival. We had to check the name of each property before finding ours. Some arrows would be helpful. An instruction book would be helpful. It wasn’t obvious where the router was. The heating wasn’t turned on, each one was switched off at the wall and it wasn’t obvious how to work them. It was quite cold when we arrived and the place took a while to heat up. It would have been good if it had been turned on before our arrival. We also had problems with the hob. The owner was very friendly and helpful but it would have been useful to have instructions rather than having to call on him.

Check in times have been adjusted to comply with the COVID restrictions. This window between change overs gives us an opportunity to give the cottage a thorough clean which includes the disinfection of surfaces and sanitation of touch point areas. In addition, ventilation is essential during these times and as a result between change overs all windows are open. This avoids the accumulation of COVID-19 particles on surfaces. These actions are essential procedures as part of our through cleaning before and after guests arrival and check in and in accordance with Welsh Government COVID-19 policies for self-catering accommodation. Ideal position for walking either in the country or to the beach, our dog was made welcome which is always a plus. We were made welcome by Arwen (not sure of spelling) who was very helpful but not intrusive. The hot tub was a bonus which we loved. Having not been to the Llyn peninsula before it was a great base, easy enough to get to both sides of the peninsula. We had the two bedroomed cottage which was plenty big enough, the only downside for us was it could have done with a little more room outside but on balance having the hot tub made up for it. We would certainly stay there again. Thanks Arwen for providing a lovely holiday cottage and brilliant weather!

Very bumpy, pot holed lane, no directions to cottage, toilet seat was broken on arrival, front door very stiff to lock and unlock, rubbish left in outside bin, frozen chips left in freezer, sporadic heating which was hard to use, no welcome pack both tutorial and welcoming, bathroom dated and needed cleaning, lots of hairs around toilet, no clothes hanging space upstairs , fitted sheet upstairs very bobbled, no drainer on sink, no bin liner in kitchen bin, dome crockery worn and needed washing due to dog hairs,

The cottage is located along a country lane. It lies on a conservation area where no tarmac cannot be placed. The owners however consistently manage the road where all types of vehicles from sports cars, electric cars, sailing trailers and all other vehicles can easily access. We have never had any previous issues. Directions are clearly stated on the Sykes website. There are also very large signs at the bottom of our driveway stating the entrance to our cottages. There are also signage 100 m form the village notifying guests of our entrance. If at any stage, guests wish to contact for directions, please feel free to do so. The door was tested afterwards, and there have been no issues! Following showing the guests around, the bins were emptied immediately. The new heating controls are totally in control of the guests. There have been no issues reported previously or afterwards. Due to many recent refurbishments in and around the cottage, there is currently a welcome pack been drawn up complementing the changes. However in this interim period, the owner welcomes all guests on arrival talking and advising guests of general house rules, controls etc. If at any time guests are unsure of anything, please knock on the farmhouse door they are there to help!! The cottage is kept to a very high standard with cleanliness our priority and have had no previous complaints. All crockery and basins are inspected prior to all guest arrival and any damages are rectified prior to guests’ arrival. As this is a smaller cottage, there is plentiful of hanging space downstairs in the hallway and in cupboards. There are also draws and cupboard storage upstairs. It must be noted that the owner spoke to the guests on departure and stated that they had an Excellent stay. It is very unfortunate that the comments were not mentioned during their stay whereas any issues would have been sorted immediately. The owners are located in the nearby farmhouse where all guests are welcome to visit if they have any questions when staying at the cottage so any issues can be rectified immediately for a comfortable and memorable stay.
