  • "A lot of the door handles were loose & falling out, one guest got locked in the toilet & had to shout out the window for help, luckily a passer by saw her & knocked on the door."

The pool table needed repair, the cues were in bad condition, the pockets needed repairing, the balls were going on the floor when potted. We did one quick wash in the washing machine & that started leaking. We had to take it In turns to have a shower as there wasn’t hot water all day as we had to wait for the tank to fill up. We all had a great time but feel for what we paid the house desperately needed modernisation. The ground floor bedroom next to the kitchen, the ceiling was flaking & each day the guest woke up to small bits of it on her bed. A dirty pair of knickers was found in one of the guest rooms, also a plug had to be rewired by one of the guests who was a qualified electrician & mirror light in one of the bathrooms wasn’t working. I would recommend this house is good for 12 guests and not 16 as put on your website. Only one bath for the whole house and five showers and one was only cold water.

I am so sorry you had such a bad time at our place, finding dirty laundry is totally unacceptable, and I will make sure the cleaners are up to their game. unfortunately the door knobs seem to be an enigma, we keep tightening them up, but they work loose periodically. The snooker table took a bashing a few weeks ago with some disrespectful guests, and I admit I had forgotten to tidy it up. I hadn't realised the ceiling in the ground floor bedroom had got so bad, it is on the ongoing list of upkeep jobs, please accept my apologies. I was not aware there was a problem with the washing machine, we use it each week. Many thanks for fixing the mirror light, once again the cleaners should have spotted it, and we would have sorted it. I am pleased you managed to have a good time, and sorry once again for not being up to standard Property Owner

We chose this location to celebrate a 60th birthday and we were not disappointed. Fabulous property for large group. Plenty of space to be together or seperate for chill out time. All bedrooms are large and we had no disagreements on who was going to have which bedroom! Jane was a fantastic host and thank you for the cake and wine on arrival. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Hope to come back soon.

The Manor House is a lovely building and was perfect for our party of fifteen, including children. Every room has more than adequate space. The land around the property is beautiful and inviting for walks in all types of weather. There is a lovely pub, cafe, village shop and a children's playground no more than a twenty minute walk away. We will definitely be looking into going back.

  • "A wonderful and pleasant experience."

We were around 16 people. Rooms are spacious, clean and in great order. WiFi was available and it made amends to the patchy mobile signal reception in the area. Above all, Jane and Andrew were fantastic hosts. They made sure that our stay was stress and hassle free. We are planning to visit again. I would recommend The Manor House to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday set in a rural backdrop.

The hosts where always on hand to help and although we didnt need anything it was nice to know that they where there if we did! Fantastic place, highly recommend!

  • "Stayed for a weekend with 8 old school friends, Jane came to meet on arrival and was friendly and helpful."

There was plenty of space for us all inside and all the rooms were lovely. The views were incredible. We walked to the end of the lane to the Woodcock Inn to eat on the Satuday which was also very good. The weather was cool for the time of year but we still enjoyed the garden and there was a pool table and table football to occupy us when it was raining. overall a really good value property.

Hi Alison, Thanks for such a positive review, glad you all enjoyed your time here. Hope you find an excuse to meet up again next year. Property Owner

Manor House was the perfect venue for us. There was lots of space, it was really clean, had all the right equipment and the beds and facilities were excellent. It was toasty warm, very comfortable and made us all feel relaxed and at home. We really enjoyed our staff and the owner was friendly and happy. We will find a reason to have another reunion that is much less than 5 years apart. Great place. 100% recommend.

  • "We spent a wonderful family Christmas at The Manor House."

There was plenty of room for 14 of us, with spacious bedrooms and enough bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook a full Christmas dinner, and the kitchen was also a very sociable place with its large dining table. The children enjoyed playing hide and seek in the house, as well as using the pool table and football table, and also playing football in the large garden (despite the wet weather). The house was lovely and warm - actually too warm on the first night, but the owners helped us to adjust the thermostat. The walk to the village using footpaths across muddy fields provided fresh air, although we didn’t manage to visit the local pub as it was only open in the evenings, and we didn’t fancy the walk in the dark across the fields or along the country lane. But we didn’t miss it as we had plenty of Christmas food at the house and a comfortable living room to relax in! Overall this was a great house, and perfect for our Christmas holidays.

Unfortunately our USA family were unable to join us due to COVID restrictions but the remaining three families including six young cousins had a wonderful time together. The house itself is ideal for large groups - very comfortable and spacious - and the surrounding lawns are ideal for outdoor life. Our host and hostess were very helpful and hospitable and we hope to return again in the not-too-distant future.

  • "This was a last-minute booking as we were celebrating a 40th birthday and our camping plans had to be abandoned due to bad weather."

The house is lovely with amazing views over quintessential English countryside. It was very quiet and peaceful - far from any main road. We were a party of 13 - 6 adults and 7 little people aging from 10 - 3. There was plenty of space for everyone in the large house and round the kitchen table. Lots of cupboard space in the bedrooms. The beds are all super comfortable. The garden is enclosed and flat, so good for ball games. Lots of ensuites and a luxurious bathroom, a big lounge with plenty seating, and the pool table all helped to make the bad weather not an issue at all. There are a couple of other holiday cottages in the complex but we barely saw them and never heard them. There is also a beehive at the far end of the garden but this wasn't an issue at all. All in all, it was a lovely stay in a beautiful place.
