The property

Bryn Maelor is a beautiful stone-built country house of charm and history, located on the edge of the village of Coedpoeth, just two miles from the town of Wrexham and within 20 minutes driving distance of the historic city of Chester.

This 250-year old house retains many of its original features; high ceilings, fireplaces and a large entrance hall - while the well-equipped contemporary kitchen is a lovely space in which to cook and relax.

This wonderful holiday home is ideal for a large family or group of friends looking to get away from city life and explore the beautiful Welsh countryside.

There are seven elegant bedrooms - four doubles, a twin and a single on the first floor and one double on the ground floor, all of which have their own unique character.

Two of the double rooms share a 'Jack and Jill' bathroom, there is a large family bath/shower room upstairs and there is a shower room/toilet on the ground floor, offering a useful downstairs facility for those less able to climb the stairs.

The kitchen comes complete with a range cooker and hob, making it ideal for playing host to large groups, and an extensive range of cooking equipment is provided.

From the kitchen is a sitting area with a warming woodburner and then from here is an archway leading you into the dining room.

The separate drawing room also has a woodburner, great to escape to on colder evenings.

There's also a games room with a Playstation 4 (you will need to bring your own games), boardgames and a sofa bed, a perfect place to retreat to on a rainy afternoon.

The beautifully maintained garden is simply gorgeous, featuring an ornamental pond, stone pathways, well-kept lawns, gorgeous herbaceous borders and topiary, plus beautiful views across the countryside towards Wrexham.

There is also a barbecue and storage for bikes in the garden shed.

Local shops and pubs, as well as a cinema and supermarkets are just a short walk or drive away.

Also the property is only a short taxi ride to Wrexham station, which has train links to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester.

If you're looking for things to do, the Nant Mill Visitor Centre is just a few minutes drive down the road.

Set in beautiful ancient woodland beside the River Clywedog, there are a number of countryside walks you can take from here, and activities for younger folks inside the centre.

Also within reach are the historic city of Chester with its Roman connections, racecourse and zoo, the pretty town of Llangollen, famous for its Musical Eisteddfod and the Snowdonia National Park.

With a wealth of history, shopping and outdoor activities on your doorstep this really is a fantastic year round retreat, ideal for relaxing or exploring this part of Wales.
