  • “We stayed at Ffynonn Wen for a week in the October school holidays and we were blown away by this magnificent house!”

! The house is massive and the pictures really don't do it justice. We were met with a welcome basket with a few essentials which was a lovely surprise. The house is spotless and the kitchen was equipped for us to self cater. The hot tub was also spotlessly clean and we took advantage of this after a day out sightseeing. The owner Jay was always on hand if we had any questions, nothing was to much bother so massive shout out for that, it was very much appreciated. The house is a stone throw ...

The house is a stone throw from the promenade/ beach and there was a lovely pub called the Toad if you want a wee drink after a day sightseeing. We walked along the promenade to Rhos on Sea most days and this is about 20 minutes to walk( nice wee shops , pub, mini golf ) so worth a wee stroll. Colwyn bay is central to lots of days out such as the Great Orme, Conwy castle, and not forgetting the Welsh mountain zoo. The rooms in the house were spacious and comfortable with an added bonus of the sea views ( my brother enjoyed his morning coffee on the balcony whilst enjoying the sea view) myself and my family would not hesitate to book Fynnon Wen again and hope to do so in the near future,!! Thanks once again to Jay for being so hospitable , it was very much appreciated.

The property

Lying at the centre of excitement within the picturesque resort town of Colwyn Bay, is this fabulous three-storey abode.

Boasting a commanding position overlooking the arresting North Wales Coast, 12 Penrhos Road offers the perfect setting for a large family getaway to this magnificent country.

Step inside the charming country-style kitchen and discover a plethora of appliances such as a striking gas stove and handy dishwasher, sure to inspire some delicious home-cooking throughout your stay.

Continue through to the utility room where you will find white goods such as a large American-style fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, together providing an ideal space to clean off your sand-filled clothes and swimsuits following an action-packed day at the beach.

Freshen up in the cloakroom, or retire to the ground-floor twin room for a quick afternoon nap ahead of a fun-filled night with family and friends.

Spend your evenings in the sociable sitting/dining room on the first floor, where you can lounge about on the gorgeous suede corner sofa or cosy up on the large loveseat, as you watch a captivating movie on the impressive flat-screen TV.

Escape the excitement as you retreat to the peaceful first-floor snug to lose yourself in a book, or fling open the large doors that lead out to the balcony and indulge in a relaxing dip in the luxurious hot tub.

Back inside, guests will find a pretty double bedroom with tranquil blue hues and a smart TV resting on the first floor, whilst an additional double bedroom, quirky double bunk room and a spacious family bedroom with en-suite wet room, can all be found on the second floor.

Across the way, a bright and contemporary bathroom hosting both a glorious roll top bath with hand held shower and a separate walk-in shower, serves each of the bedrooms and provides a wonderful space to prepare for the day ahead.

Soak up the sunshine out in the back garden as you sip on a refreshing glass of lemonade and enjoy lunch or dinner alfresco by the charming woodburning stove, whilst the children play on the well-kept lawn with their beloved four-legged friends.

When you can just about manage to tear yourself away from this superb holiday home, take a stroll along the bustling West Promenade, right on your doorstep, and delight in a tasty cup of coffee from one of the friendly local cafés before heading towards the lovely sands of Rhos-on-Sea Beach.

Admire the colourful flowers and luscious green foliage that decolorates the beautiful lawns of Queens Gardens, or spend the day spotting majestic wildlife at the popular Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Closer to home Colwyn Bay Beach is a fantastic spot to enjoy a dip in the sea, whilst further inland Fairy Glen Nature Reserve and the Tan-yr-Ogof Caves are a brilliant way to explore the great outdoors.

Cross the breath-taking River over to the town of Conwy and uncover the area's rich history with tours of Plas Mawr and Conwy Castle, before stopping by The Smallest House in Great Britain or wandering the Conwy Town Walls.

There is much fun to be had in the neighbouring town of Llandudno with colourful buildings, eye-catching statues and a grand Victorian Pier with a mouth-watering fish and chips shop, it's really no surprise that this incredible setting is said to be the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

See Elephant's Cave and Haulfre Gardens, or challenge yourself with a scenic hike to the top of the Great Orme.

For an unforgettable escape to North Wales, be sure to book a stay at 12 Penrhos Road.
