  • "Fantasic property for me and my 2 boys."

Spent 3 days in confort and warmth in late december. Easy parking as house is not on the main road. Great base to explore zipworld, the steam train and north wales.

Thank you. Its a pleasure to hear you enjoyed your break. Kev Property Owner

Plenty to do and see in the area. Would definitely return for another stay.

  • "This was a lovely place to stay."

Quite comfortable and a quiet location.I can't think of anything negative ( I can't see what previous visitors have had to complain about). There was every thing I needed for my stay.

Thank you Martin for the positive feedback. I get complaints from the size of the bed to seagulls walking in the roof! If you plan a trip in the future send me an email. I will sort a discount for you. Sometimes people forget this is a relatively cheap accommodation, however I like to keep it homely. Kev Property Owner

COTTAGE IS JUST RIGHT BUT COULD DO WITH UPDATING A LITTLE ALSO TRIED TO GET THROUGH ON THE NUMBER TO SAY THE FRONT DOOR LOCK STICKING BUT COULDNT GET THROUGH

Thanks for your comments, the property has been a holiday cottage for 5 years. All furnishings within the cottage were purchased NEW after I renovated the cottage to its current configuration. We have never received any comments relating to updating, in fact quite the contrary. So I am at a loss for your criticism! WE WILL NEVER COMPLETELY MEET ALL OF OUR GUESTS EXPECTATIONS, HOWEVER THERE ARE SUFFICIENT PHOTOGRAPHS WITHIN THE SYKES LISTING TO PROVIDE GUESTS WITH AN INFORMED DECISION. • "Beautiful cottage, superbly furnished and exceptionally clean and comfortable."

Sofa and beds very comfortable, kitchen had everything you would need, Welsh cakes and milk were very much appreciated, thank you. Bedrooms were spacious and loads of drawers, extra plug sockets and mirror to dry hair etc for ladies was well thought out. Pretty back garden with chairs to sit out on a sunny day. Very quiet house, no noise from neighbours or traffic. Street parking was no problem, shop nearby with great chippy, very relaxing week would love to stay again

Thanks Carolyn, Such positive feedback is alway well received and appreciated. Kevin Property Owner

  • "We are walkers and wild swimmers."

As a result we often have wet gear so having somewhere to dry it is useful. There is a washing line but if part of the garage could be set up as an indoor drying room that would be great. It's a minor quibble to be fair

  • "The cottage was really lovely, we walked in and were so pleased with everything."

It was far better than we expected although we did see photos on the web site. It was very clean, we had tea, coffee, sugar and welsh cakes awaiting us, and milk in the fridge, which was lovely after a long journey. There was a visitor book with tips from other visitors and we actually went to one of the local restaurants that were recommended which was brilliant. The parking was just outside the property. It was a brilliant base for travelling, we went to Snowdon, Portmeirion, Llandudno, Porthmadog and we had a steam train ride from there that was really lovely. We would thoroughly recommend this property, for comfort and location, and we would definitely use this site again, after such a good experience. Gordon Forster

  • "Me and my family really enjoyed our stay in Manod."

The distance between the house and main attractions was ideal. House was very clean and cosy, the chance of watching netflix was perfect after a long days of exploring the area. The house was fantastic I would definitely recommend and return if I was visiting the area.

  • "A really good cottage Warm and comfortable, equipped with everything you need."

Very comfortable beds and the neighbourhood is quiet and friendly The cottage is well positioned on a small road parallel to the main road so very little traffic noise Parking is available at the rear of the cottage but the street parking is also fine My party were there for the walking so an area to dry boots and waterproofs would be good to avoid wet stuff in the cottage- we noticed a garage at the back that could be roped in as a possible drying room (minor issue though) Also we found the flame effect gas fire very welcome in the evening after a long day in the hills I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely cottage

  • "The Kitchen tap was rather frustrating, it constantly drips."

And is in need of a plumber to look at it, or someone to replace the parts. The bins were in quite a bad situation. We were told to put the bins outside in a specific way. But was no room for them? And we didn’t want to just leave them outside so the seagulls could get at them. We understand it takes up to 3 weeks to pick up the bins, but maybe a second brown bin should be available, or someone to take them elsewhere for collection? Lastly on the negative side, it was great to have a washing machine, and line. But was no pegs available to use? Or if we were informed to bring our own would have been ok too! In general though was a lovely house, and did well for the 4 of us. And was very well located for all the activities we had planned in the Snowdonia area. Nothing was more than 30 minutes drive either side of the town. Other than our longer trips to Chester Zoo and Colwyn Bay.

  • "Had a lovely break at Bryn Eithin, only a few small niggles about the property (no markings on oven to show settings/temperatures so had to Google make and model, no plastic chopping boards and only one oven tray)."

There was an odd sort of damp feeling in the kitchen though and an odd smell in the cupboards. Parking at front of property not always possible, parking in rear tight for a medium sized family car. Other than that property was lovely and as described, pleasantly surprised by the smart TV and Blu Ray player. Would highly recommend a trip to Beddgelert and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns when visiting, both are close by.

I appreciate my guest’s comments. Regarding smell in the kitchen the property have two new double-glazed (front and back) doors fitted this has reduced the airflow and as it is double-glazing has caused the odour and I have instructed my builder to fit an airbrick in the kitchen to improve circulations. Thank you very much for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "A lovely, homely cottage with wonderful views of the mountains around Ffestiniog."

All as described in a great location to explore North Wales. My only criticism is that that there are no wardrobes in the property which I think are necessary. I would recommend exchanging one of the many drawer units for at least one wardrobe to allow for storage of shirts, dresses, jackets etc. Bounce below and llechwedd slate mine tour, both highly recommended are 5 minutes away. Betws y coed, Porthmadog, Beddgelert and Snowdonia are all a short drive away. A wonderful experience was had by all!

  • "We were slightly disappointed in the cottage and also where it was situated."

Blaenau is not a very hospitable place in terms of a good restaurant or a nice pub so there was nowhere to go out in the evening. As for the cottage itself. There was no toilet roll in the bathroom (luckily my friend had brought one with her). There were no bath towels left out, just 4 small hand towels. Luckily we found some bath towels, with the price still on, in a drawer in the back bedroom. There was no hanging space anywhere for clothes so they had to be kept in drawers or in our suitcases. The beds were very comfortable. Luckily we had great weather the week we were there which enabled us to be out every day. We would try another Sykes cottage again however.
