  • "This is the 3rd time we have holidayed at Craigfryn."

We love it here - the house is spacious, very clean and in a great location - very handy for the town centre, and the owners Barbara and Frank could not be more welcoming and friendly. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped - everything you need for a happy and comfortable stay. I cannot recommend Craigfryn highly enough.

  • "This is an extensive house and very well equipped."

A little torch was available in each room in case it was needed. The view of the castle from the double bed was a great feature for us as the view changed all the time depending on the light.

  • "This home was clean, spacious and good value for money."

It was better than I expected from its description on the site and its price. The location is also good, being a short walk from the walls of Conwy. The owners live nearby and dropped round when we arrived to check all was fine and were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

  • "Beautiful house - great location - very well equipped with handy notes all about the house to assist us."

Garden was lovely and we had breakfast there every morning. The owners are very helpful but not intrusive. The house is very comfortable with all the essentials one needs and it was great to have two public rooms as well as a spacious kitchen as we could spread out - great for the larger family. I would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday home and the added advantage is the car parking space and close proximity to Conwy town centre.

Also in a great location, very peaceful, but some people may find the walk a little difficult at it is rather hilly in places.

  • "This accommodation is first class."

It’s vw apparent that a lot of time and effort and thought has gone into the comfort of guests. We would recommend it to anyone. We’ve stayed all over in self catering and this was by far the best yet.

  • "The actual holiday cottage was very good."

However i found the complete lack of flexibility in the booking process extremely frustrating . I booked months in advance and still had to pay a fee when i needed to change my booking less than 24 hours later.

  • "The owners were delightful."

The only issue was, we did not use the lounge (although this looked lovely) as this had quite a damp smell in it and I have a lung problem. We put this down to the settee and the audio cupboard with very old toys/boxes in it. If they were removed I think the problem would be sorted. We used the back dining/sitting room, which was fine but small. Sorry to report this but that was our only issue, otherwise the house was great and had everything you would need. We would consider it again, trusting the issue had been dealt with.

  • "I think in the information online you should mention that the short walk is actually longer than you think."

It is up hill alot of the time and my 75 year old aunt couldn't walk as it was too difficult for her! So we had to use the car all the time which we didn't want to have to do! So that was a very big negative for us!

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
