Julian the property owner lives 3 doors away and is always helpful to attend to any concerns.Previous feedback highlights access difficulties and parking restrictions. This is not true ,yes you need to reverse but there have been temporary property renovations in the street that are almost finished. Best parking for properties within the walls of Conwy. So don't dismiss out on the opportunity to visit this property based on previous feedback.

  • "The parking is a nightmare!"

You have to reverse up a very tight road that is on a slight hill and then the space is only really big enough for a small car (like a fiat 500) not anything bigger. There is no way to do a u-turn on the road itself. There was rubbish in the garden including panes of glass lent up against the wall. The owner wasn't particularly helpful and left us waiting over 26 hours to move the glass, even though he lives a few doors down. If you are looking for a secure garden for your dogs please don't think this is - there is a huge gap under the decking that small dogs can get under and the garden wall connected to next door is only a few feet high (which is easy for dogs who jump to get over). The pictures of the garden are completely misleading as this wall isn't shown. There was also dog poo in the garden when we arrived. As we didn't take photos of this Sykes didn't believe us and any issues we had they sided with the owner. We will never book with Sykes again and do not recommend this property in any way.

This is totally unfair feedback. I met you on arrival and everything was fine. We only live four doors away and stated if you have any problems please just knock on. The next thing we got was a phone call from Sykes saying you had left. The parking is excellent with it being the end house. I reverse up and there is plenty of room for my long wheelbase Vivaro van. It is one of the very rare good parking spaces within the castle walls. There was definitely no dog mess in the garden as I personally picked up all the fallen leaves from the tree by hand prior to your arrival, and certainly no rubbish. The pain of glass is a double glazed sealed unit and is very safe behind a screened off area. Which I have moved anyway. The gap below the decking is around 3” as on all decking. The wall is 4ft high on one side and can be seen on the kitchen photos. We have people staying with dogs all the time and everyone always says how good and secure the garden is for their dogs. You gave us no opportunity to rectify any of your concerns and just left asking Sykes for a refund. We are a very dog friendly cottage and stay there ourselves. We have two small dogs and if it were unsafe we would know straight away and rectify it. We take great pride in looking after our cottage and our guests staying there as our consistent good feedback shows. Property Owner

  • "After booking our Autumn Break inside the Walls of Conwy in North Wales we were really looking forward for our seven night stay in October 2023."

On arrival we found the cottage in Seaside Terrace with the side Entrance and Garden touching the actual stone wall. Inside the cottage was beautiful and although we had to reverse up Seaside Terrace to allow ourselves to easily drive to places outside of Conwy the location of Haven’s End is absolutely fabulous. It was superb to walk around the lovely streets, harbour and castle in Conwy with really nice independent shops, cafes and pubs. The other main highlights was driving about one mile to Morfa Beach to walk our dogs together with driving about 15 miles to the wonderful town of Betws-y-Coed and a few miles beyond to see fantastic views of Snowdonia Mountains. We also visited within minutes the seaside resorts of Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay.

My only issue is there was no mention in Sykes information of the cottage being up two steep hills. This was a problem for me. I think this should be in your advert

Thank you for your great feedback, however, I feel the negative feedback for accuracy of our listing is unfair. Conwy Town is built on hills and these are unfortunately unavoidable when staying within the heart of the Castle walls. Property Owner

The cottage had everything you could possibly need and more including Alexa and hive heating, some welcome goodies, everything you might need for your pooch, tons of blankets amd towels, toilet roll, kitchen roll...... The view from the snug is incredible, especially to peep out of the velux window and see the castle lit up at night. The garden is very secure for dogs. In response to other comments and reviews, yes there is a hint of dog on arrival however you are renting a property which is well equipped for a dog, it was not over powering and the owner has provided throws for the furniture and air fresheners. Please note if taking dogs we only discovered on arrival you are asked not to let them upstairs and a stair gate is in place to deter them. This was not mentioned when booking. Apart from this we would rebook this property.

Hi thank you for your feedback. Dogs ARE allowed upstairs. I can only assume you have misread it in the welcome pack or we have worded it incorrectly. Very sorry about this, we will delete it from our welcome pack to avoid any further confusion. The stair gates are for child safety and for people who prefer their dogs to sleep downstairs. About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
