It was immaculately clean, brilliantly well equipped and very comfortable. The conservatory and garden were real suntraps and we almost lived out there. Very many thanks to Barbara, who emailed us prior to arrival with all sorts of information and made us feel so welcome, despite never actually meeting. The flowers, Welsh cakes and coffee/tea/milk were a lovely gift and much appreciated. We couldn't have had a better "freedom from lockdown" break and to be so close to the town centre was a bonus-a healthy walk to get rid of the lockdown calories. A wonderful week (even the weather was mostly good) and we certainly will return. A big thank you Barbara, we really couldn't have asked for more.

The property

Heddfan, 30 Mount Park is a semi-detached house positioned just on the fringes of Conwy on a quiet road, with views of the stunning Conwy Valley and a well-presented interior making you feel right at home.

It is suitable for families or groups of friends looking to tour a fabulous section of North Wales, with the Snowdonia National Park and sweeping coastline at your fingertips.

Park your car in the driveway and receive a warm welcome from the moment you step inside, hang up your coats and kick off your shoes in the hall before moving through to the bright and sunny lounge.

Here you can unwind with a good book or tune into the TV as the woodburner adds warmth to the room on a cold, wintry evening.

Move through to the dining room, where you will find an extendable dining table for you to get the whole family together over a scrumptious, home-cooked dinner prepared in the well-appointed kitchen.

A balmy afternoon can be spent in the conservatory, pour yourself a glass of your favourite tipple and take in the pleasant scenes of the garden.

On warm days, you may sit out on the elevated patio enjoying the views.

With underfloor heating, this space can be enjoyed at any time of the year and there are plenty of games to keep the children entertained.

The kids are well-catered for with a highchair, cot and booster seat for the dining chair available when required.

Climb the stairs at the end of your evening and find the bedrooms served by a lovely bathroom, fitted with a shower over the bath, welcoming long soaks after a day exploring the local sights.

Outside, you have a sunny patio making the most of the views towards the valley, where you can sit with a drink and soak up the historic atmosphere oozing form the town centre.

The gate from the garden leads you down a winding path right to the heart of the town; five minutes walk away where you will find all the amenities you need for a delightful break on the coast.

Visit Conwy Castle and delve into a world of history, admire the medieval architecture and take in the superb views from the battlements.

There are two Elizabethan buildings to visit in the heart of the town, the largest of which is the magnificent Plas Mawr.

Head across the bridge and venture to Llandudno with your bucket and spade, and enjoy a fun-filled day out along the promenade or at the beach.

Climb to the summit of the Great Orme or browse the local shops before spending an evening at Venue Cymru, famed for its premier theatrical stage.

You also have the remarkable Snowdonia National Park awaiting your arrival if you ever tire from the charm of this humble abode.

For walkers, fishermen and watersport enthusiasts there are the wonderful lakes – Geirionydd and Crafnant, a few miles away in the Conwy Valley.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
