  • "We had a wonderful week at Moss Bank House."

We were a family of 5, and Moss Bank suited us perfectly as a home away from home. It’s well appointed - with lots of living space, a great kitchen, outdoor space front and back, and four well-sized bedrooms. All very elegant, and spotlessly clean. Moss Bank is nicely located to explore Conwy and further afield. Everything is on your doorstep, but still quiet and secluded enough for a relaxing break. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "We were a party of 8 staying at Moss House in November 2023."

The property was well maintained, clean and tidy. Lovely kitchen with an aga which kept downstairs toasty warm. Large lounge with comfy sofas and chairs with a log fire. Bedrooms and bathrooms spotlessly clean. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Conwy. Handy for all the attractions in Conwy, Deganwy, Llandudno. We met the owners as we were arriving, very friendly and accommodating. Hope to be back again soon!

  • "Lovely spacious and well maintained cottage."

Handy for shops and town. Pretty outdoor spaces and a great garden for sitting out or bird watching. Lots of steps around the property made it a bit tricky for our party members in their 70's, but we're partly expecting this. Lovely owner contacted us during our stay and was interested in us having a good stay in his cottage.

  • "Amazing property that is hard to fault."

The property is so comfortable to stay in. The kitchen is unbelievably equipped with everything you could need, the only thing that we would grumble about is that the cupboards are so full that there is little room to store food. The house exceeded expectations, the owner notified us on early check in when the house was ready. Highly recommend this property.

  • "Lovely property, ideal location for an easy walk into Conwy, well furnished & equipped with beautiful interior & gardens."

The owner Vaughan couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. His communication was excellent, questions answered promptly & any tiny queries addressed - for example - one side of the toaster wasn’t working so it was immediately replaced with a new one. Couldn’t have asked for a more helpful host. We would 100% recommend staying in this beautiful property.

  • "2nd stay at Moss Bank House so we knew what to expect."

The property had been decorated since our previous stay 12 months ago which speaks volumes about how the owners look after the property. We had a great stay, the patio area is large with more than enough space for everyone to relax. We can't fault it and will hopefully return again for a 3rd time.

  • "Lovely, comfy, spacious house and great base to enjoy Conwy and surrounding area."

The outside area is a delight with a view of the castle between the trees. Conwy town is only a few minutes walk (downhill) - add a couple more minutes on your return (slightly uphill). Lots to see and do in Conwy: the castle; harbour; marina/woodland walks; Plas Mawr Elizabethan townhouse; nice cafes/eateries and shops; and The Albion pub.

  • "We had a fabulous week in Conwy and the surrounding area."

Moss Bank House was amazing and exceeded our expectations. We stayed as a family with our three children and my parents. The house was spacious and provided ample room for our teenage boys (19,17,11) to enjoy time together but also to relax on their own. My parents had the en suite bedroom which was perfect for them. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed days out but looked forward to returning to the house in the evening to relax. We had a family movie day on one of the very rainy days. Our little dog loved the garden and enjoyed exploring but was very safe for her. Thank you for a lovely week. We have already looked at the availability of this house for the rest of the year as we would love to return.

Had a lovely stay and even managed to sit in the lovely garden in the sunshine even though it was early April and was forecast rain. Would not stop me staying here again but a tumble dryer would have been useful, particularly in the colder months as difficult to get clothing dry.

Extremely clean and well maintained and very comfortable for 8 guests. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you could think of and the supply of cooking basics such as salt/pepper/oil etc was great. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. Possible improvements would be to add a toilet into the bedroom with the shower room to make a full ensuite and the Wi-Fi was painfully slow.

The only slight downside is the lack of shower for the double and twin bedrooms. Of course, a work around is to use one of the two en-suite showers, but if there was one for general use it would be even better! This wouldn’t stop me staying there again.

Very comfortable. Very clean. Everything you need is in the property. They supply all that you need. For the kitchen. And utilities. Bin bags, dishwasher and washing machine tablets. Even a spice drawer and basics for cooking. Plenty of crockery etc. The outside gardens and patio are beautiful. View great. Dog friendly. A note if you have a tiny dog. Not sure if they might be able squeeze out of front gate. We had taken a doggie gate. So we utilized that. Cottage brilliantly situated in Conwy. Some lovely restaurants. The Erskine The Secret Garden behind the wine shop and The mulberry especially. Thank you for a lovely stay at your cottage

The property

A beautiful Victorian terraced property, Moss Bank House is found just outside Conwy's UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes Conwy's Castle and town walls built by Edward 1 between 1283-1287.

The property is in a slightly elevated position and provides a view of the castle through the trees below.

It's a perfect spot from which to enjoy the many charms of this wonderful and historic small town and is in easy driving distance of the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia), the beautiful coastline and beaches of North Wales and Anglesey, and the natural beauty of the Conwy Valley.

Moss Bank House has been sympathetically restored and retains original features whilst adding contemporary notes to provide the comforts of modern living.

Arranged over two floors, Moss Bank House offers spacious and well-appointed holiday accommodation throughout.

This lovely property will truly delight the whole family.

The beautiful sitting room with woodburning stove, smart TV, and comfortable seating is a wonderful room in which to relax.

The well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, hardwood and granite worktops, a Belfast sink, a dishwasher, microwave and a fridge/freezer.

The dining room is directly adjacent to the kitchen and the open plan arrangement is very convenient for a social family gathering.

There is also a utility room, with a washing machine, sink and folding drying rack.

Off the utility room there is a cloakroom with WC and basin.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms: a king size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC; a further king size double with en-suite shower and basin; a regular sized double; and a twin room.

The family bathroom has a free-standing role top bath to relax in.

All bedding and towels are provided.

The front of Moss Bank House enjoys a sunny aspect during the day, with a view of Conwy castle across the well-maintained garden and through the trees.

The terrace has two sets of comfortable tables and chairs which are perfect for relaxing and dining alfresco.

There is also a small, terraced garden to the rear.

Conwy has many independent shops so, once you have explored the Castle's ramparts and walked the three-quarters of a mile of town walls, you could pop down into the town's narrow streets and discover some great little shops and numerous places to eat and drink.

The historic quayside offers a charming vista, across the many boats moored on the River Conwy, towards Deganwy and its popular marina.

Whilst on the quayside many visitors take the opportunity to take a peek inside the Smallest House in Great Britain; at just 122 inches tall the tour doesn't take long!

A little further afield and a rewarding drive by car further delights await such as: the highly acclaimed Bodnant Gardens run by the National Trust; more spectacular castles at Harlech, Caernarfon and Beaumaris; the elegant promenade at the Victorian seaside resort of LLandudno; the tramway or cable car up to the summit of the Great Orme; the grandeur of the mountains and lakes in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park; the beautiful coastline and beaches on the Isle of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula; invigorating mountain, hill or coastal walks; the many and varied action activities provided by Zip World, Adventure Snowdonia and others; the waterfalls at Swallow Falls and Aber falls; rib rides along the Menai Straits etc.

Whatever you decide, Moss Bank House is sure to delight and make a superb base for any season you choose to visit.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £400.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
