  • "Neuadd Wen is a beautiful cottage well positioned as a base for adventures in North Wales."

The cottage itself is comfortable and full of character with beautifully refurbished bath/shower rooms. It was clean and welcoming, and the landlady had kindly left the log fire prepped and ready to go. That fire was absolute perfection to warm and soothe aching muscles after climbing Snowdon on the Saturday. It's positioned close to Ruthin (20 mins) and Betws y Coed (30 mins), with Rhug Estate and Farm Shop about 15 mins away, (useful for EV drivers as it has plenty of Instavolt units there). We'd have no hesitation in recommending Neuadd Wen!

  • "Lovely homely cottage, everything provided that we needed, Jill was on hand if we needed any help but everything went smoothly."

Shame we visited in February there is a lovely patio that would have been nice to sit out on, but the conservatory was lovely on an evening with pretty lights . Lovely pub at the bottom of the road, serving tasty food.

  • "We had a great time at Neuadd Wen."

The house is a little maze of cosy rooms. We particularly liked the fire place in the lounge and the big table in the dining rooms that was able to accommodate all eight of us. The winter garden gets a nice bit of sun in the morning and the kitchen is spacious and very well-equipped. It seems that the house is slowly being renovated and some parts of the house and bedrooms are more modern than others. Great value for money and we hope to come back. Many thanks to Jill.

  • "Neuadd Wen is a beautiful homely cottage, with a cosy living room to cuddle up in, a dining room to fit everyone, and a large conservatory looking out on the garden."

It felt like a comfortable space: where some cottages can feel like you're intruding on someone else's home, Neuadd Wen really does feel like a home away from home! The beds are comfy, and the rooms are good sizes. Some of our party brought our own towels, because we have dyed hair, but the property has black towels - very smart! The kitchen is well stocked with pans and trays and utensils, which is great if you want to stay in and cook. But if you don't, the nearby Crown Inn, a stone's throw from the cottage, is a friendly place for a delicious dinner. The owners are very welcoming, and the locals we met were lovely, too! Overall, we had a great time! We drove into Cerrigydrudion for the corner food shop, Ruthin for the supermarket and curios shopping, and down to Corris for the attractions and craft centre (which were a highlight of the trip). Neuadd Wen is the first Sykes cottage that every member of our party said we'd love to visit again (and we stay in at least two per year, for a long time now, so that's saying something!) We loved it!

Thank you so much, your comments are a perfect end my first year as a host, and I am so pleased your stay went so well Property Owner

  • "Lovely property and owner gave us a warm welcome."

The treats for us and our dogs was a wonderful surprise. The description should say that it is next to a cemetery. Good pub nearby and everything located within 20 minutes from great pubs served by great people

I thank everyone for all feedback good and bad because it helps me improve the customer experience. In this instance would add..... The cottage dates back to 1770 thus carries oodles of original features and charm. Its location is on the edge of a very small village in rural Wales, a very common feature of Rural Welsh, and indeed British villages, is they all have a small graveyard. In this case it is no longer in use, carries historic interest and is picturesque. I think it adds to the peaceful, quintessentially British experience of a historic property. Property Owner

  • "Superb extended stay."

Lovely cottage , well situated in village location with every attention to detail taken care of. We really appreciated the high quality details, such as luxury bed linen and towels from very high end brands, and a divine downstairs shower and bathroom facilities. Dogs are also very well taken care of, with a welcome basket on arrival that was very much appreciated by our lovely lab. Jill was on hand for any troubleshooting if needed and was a very welcoming and accommodating host. Thank you so much from the Evans family.

  • "This is a lovely cottage in a great location."

The welcoming pack of treats was really appreciated and Jill (the Host) had kindly put together a dog pack too. There was obviously a lot of thought from the owners put into making the stay as enjoyable and comfortable for guests as possible - from the twinkly lights through to the amenities in the kitchen. Having the outside area / back garden to sit with the dogs was lovely, very peaceful and relaxing. The bedroom is comfortable and very clean, the bathrooms are great too. The Crown pub is worth a visit and the walk along the river in the village is lovely too. Jill communicates quickly if you need anything, or in our case left something behind. A tip that might be useful, using the postcode the Sat Nav took us up a windy track to the wrong house which after over 4 hours stuck on motorways was a bit infuriating so if you have the App What 3 Words please use 'Parkland. Curbed. Identity.' for an exact reference or be more mindful than we were to stay on main road. This was a perfect base for us and our two dogs and we look forward to returning.
