  • "Enjoyed our stay at Hen Cottage, spacious and clean."

Warm and friendly welcome from the farmer. Quiet and peaceful holiday plus the weather was great. A good time was had by all. Close to all the places we planned to visit: Chester zoo, LLangollen and country walk to the village, (Rossett) and not too far from the coast.

  • "The cottage was good value for money, large, fairly clean with basic amenities, outdoors was better than advertised with pigs, chickens, owls, cows and calves for the grandchildren to see and learn about."

good play area and indoor play barn kept them busy especially as they struck up friendships with the children staying on site. The owners were friendly and happy to talk about the animals. We all had a fun week.

  • "The cottage was perfect for what we needed."

The owners are really friendly and went above and beyond to help us. We would definitely go again. The facilities are great for families and it is a really peaceful area.

  • "This cottage is very well furnished, but lacks some basic facilities for cooking from home - had we not taken 2 additional pans and a tin opener we would have struggled to feed a family of 5."

However we were pleasantly surprised by the sofa and TV (better than shown in the images). Our grandson loved the proximity to farm animals, and the owls in particular.

  • "Hen cottage is ideally placed for reaching so many places in surrounding area and set in a quiet rural pretty lane."

The cottage is idyllic for children with the play barn and trampoline in a safe setting, our grandchildren had the best time and we found it difficult to get them to leave to go anywhere as they loved being there so much. The cottage itself was spacious and comfortable with good facilities.

The property

Hen Cottage is a delightful semi-detached barn conversion with wonderful exposed beams and lovely stripped pine doors in the village of Rossett in Wrexham.

Ideal for families or friends sharing, this property has French windows leading from the farmhouse kitchen onto a private patio and is within easy reach of local amenities, the nearby town of Wrexham, and the historic city of Chester.

Arriving at your home-from-home, off-road parking greets you, before making your way into the living/dining room, a lovely space for gathering with loved ones in front of the coal-effect fire after a day of exploring, or dining as a family while you plan your next adventures.

From here, the kitchen offers all you could need for a self-catering break, including an electric cooker with a double oven, and a handy dishwasher to help with the cleaning up.

Your evening entertainment can be found in the external games room, home to table tennis, table football, & pool table, so you can unleash your competitive side.

When you are out of energy, make your way to one of three well-presented bedrooms; the master being a double with an en-suite shower room for extra privacy and the remaining two bedrooms, a twin and an adult bunk are served by a family bathroom, where you can choose to soak after a day of walking, or quickly rinse off before heading out for a meal at one of the nearby pubs.

Outside, take advantage of the shared garden space, where you can dine al fresco with a barbecue in the warmer months while the children play in the dedicated play area.

Hen Cottage is a fantastic choice for a break to North Wales.
