  • "A lovely big property in a beautiful rural location, close enough for Chester, Wrexham, Llangollen etc, but off the beaten track."

The farm animals (& owls) were enjoyed by the children & adults alike! The play barn was perfect if the weather wasn't, & the trampoline was great to wear the kids out before bed!! We had a wonderful, family time.

  • "We stayed at The Barn during a house move rather than for a holiday, but it was perfect for us."

There was plenty of space to store our personal effects during the move process and the farm location was such a restful place to return to after our busy and stressful days exiting the old house and preparing our new house for occupation. We particularly enjoyed watching the unusual collection of owls as well as the other creatures on the farm. The owners were helpful and friendly and we would certainly recommend it as a base for a holiday in the area.

  • "The cottages at the farm are lovely."

Slight issue with my husband forgetting the low beams but he was ok! Well equipped, clean and comfortable with space to park the car. Close to Chester and other places of interest by car. The kids liked the play barn and playing on the grass, plus the owls. We had a great break apart from the weather some days!

  • "We hired 2 of these cottages for 7 days and we all had a lovely time."

With covid most places were booked up that we had planned to do (Zoo's etc) so spent a lot of time in the cottages and the games room. All the cottages are very well equipped and had everything we needed from washing machines to bed guards/stair gates. It was a very safe environment for all 6 of the children aged from 1-8yrs with not 1 complaint of being bored! We have already booked to return next year. The owners are very helpful and couldn't do enough for us when we were there. Thank you

  • "Really enjoyed staying at The Barn, it was so comfortable and clean !"

The owner is lovely and helpful and cant do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. The place is really dog friendly and there is a great relaxed atmosphere there. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, a real home from home! The outdoor/indoor play equipment is brilliant too. The surrounding area is nice and it is well located for visiting all the top attractions, lots of pubs nearby offering reasonably priced meals. The park and ride into Chester is 10 mins away and only costs £2 each. Rail travel from Chester is very cheap too so days out can be totally stressfree! Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be going back.

  • "Our family stayed at "The Barn" for a week in July."

It was truly a 'Home from Home' experience, thanks to Jimmi, the owner, he'd thought of everything. The property was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, with a nice welcome pack. The children really loved the play barn and the outdoor ground trampoline, slide & swing. As the house is very central, we visited Chester Zoo, Chester for a day, Ice Cream Farm, Errdig and Chirk Castle. Trevor's Arms near by, serves a great meal. Also a good Co-op shop close by. We 100% highly recommend this accommodation. We would love to stay again! :-) L, R, C, H & B.

  • "The Barn was a fantastic place to stay."

We had the wonderful peaceful surroundings of the farm with the bonus of an excellent base to explore Chester, The Wirral and North Wales! The cottage was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The owners were very welcoming and helpful - close by if needed. Highly recommended!

Everything was there and if you needed any help all you had to do was call. 10 out of 10.

  • "The Barn is absolutely fantastic and has clearly benefitted from new ownership since our first visit back in March."

The driveway is now tarmac instead of gravel (and pot holes) being the biggest noticeable change as we entered. A welcome basket on arrival with provisions to make ourselves a "brew and biscuit" was a lovely touch, as was the scrapbook of information. We left a small item behind when we left, I messaged Jimmi the next day to see if they had found it and he posted it back to us. Above and beyond being a good host :) We will be looking to stay in The Barn again, hopefully in the near future and would recommend it without hesitation.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in this spotlessly clean, spacious cottage with very comfortable sofas to sit on at the end of the day."

Everything had been thought of and was of high quality. I must apologise to Mrs Davies as my friend who is 6ft 3" talk made a comment in the visitors book that the dining chairs were too low. When you are 5ft 1" you get use to having to put a cushion on a chair to reach the table! All in all thank you to the Davies family for providing such a wonderful space for a short break in the Chester area. If you book this cottage, you will not be disappointed.
