  • "The property is lovely."

It is really well equipped with most things we needed for our 7 day stay and it we didn’t have to go out and buy toilet roll, washing up liquid, bin bags etc as we have at some other properties. It is perfectly situated to enjoy what North Wales has to offer and it is in a peaceful location. This is a great place to kick back from it all so it was really disappointing that, after a few evenings of trying to relax in the living room that we both found the sofa and chairs really uncomfortable and difficult to relax on and the suite has definitely seen better days. If the sofa suite is updated to something comfortable the place is perfect

  • "Better than we'd imagined."

Absolutely wonderful cottage and much bigger than we'd thought it would be. Very clean, fabulous and accommodating host, attention to detail and totally a home from home. We absolutely loved it and had everything and more than we needed in this beautiful period cottage surrounded by beautiful, vibrant wildlife and really easy to access all the amenities of the surrounding areas and beaches from this venue. The walks were stunning and the array of stunning birds at the feeder provided hours of kitchen window entertainment. Love this place.

  • "Cottage lovely & quirky."

Host friendly & welcoming. Needs new furniture as sofa & chairs in living room too small & uncomfortable really needs 2 large comfy sofas there & other sofa next to kitchen really hard nowhere to lounge about in comfy sprawling chairs. No shower in bathroom only a bath is a nuisance & other bathroom needs a spruce up. There’s cobwebs on ceilings & think it’s a bit tired it could be superb with a bit of modernising & a spruce but still enjoyed the cottage & surrounding area but the improvements could make this cottage 5 stars.

This was our third visit this year and as ever we received a friendly welcome and enjoyed the peaceful rural location. The property is well situated for access to Snowdonia as well as the popular coastal towns nearby. We will almost certainly visit again.

  • "This is our second visit to a ‘quirky’ cottage in a beautiful setting."

You feel very much at home as soon as you enter the place. As someone that enjoys photographing wildlife , the cottage is perfect. Lots of different birds visit the feeders on a regular basis, with a couple of squirrels joining them. You could very easily while away the hours walking the surrounding area, but also very easy to get to the coast or Snowdonia. A thank you to Jan who makes you very welcome and is very helpful. We will definitely be back.

  • "An interesting property with lots of character."

The facilities are excellent with you left wanting for nothing. The area is beautiful and the property whilst well off the road does not feel particularly isolated with the owners house being in close proximity. We were welcomed to the property, which was nice and Jan was on hand to answer any questions. The bird feeders were very entertaining with a lot of different species of birds, plus the odd squirrel who by the looks of it, attends regularly. All in all a great weeks holiday and we are already booked to visit again. Highly recommended.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Llo Bach."

Its ideally located for discovering North Wales and Snowdonia. The cottage is located at the end of a tree lined long driveway and shares the same area with the owners house and another small holiday cottage. The interior of the cottage is quirky, comfortable and welcoming. The outside area is limited to a small patio and sloped lawn and the small holiday cottage next door does overlook the outside area. But still a great spacious cottage and will be lovely in the Autumn and Winter months.

  • "Lots of space in a quiet and rural location."

Shower very weak and only one at the property. Also the cleaning wasn’t as thorough as we would have liked, particularly the kitchen and living room. Nice selection of games and dvds provided enjoyed the real log fire in the evenings. Around 30-40 mins drive to most attractions. Would return to the area again but would likely stay somewhere else next time.

The lady looking after the property was there to greet us, very friendly, she showed us around, there was some milk in the fridge and some biscuits left out for us. We had a lovely relaxing week stay, wished we had booked two weeks. As we had a dog with us I was really impressed at the amount of dog friendly places to visit also they were reasonable priced.

  • "Whole place needs a refurb."

Had to get the agent/caretaker to sort out various problems which should have been noticed and dealt with before we arrived. Lights out,Light Units broken, Handles on stairs falling off, toilet seat off on one side, toaster not working, Pans not usable . Courtyard should have been lovely but not usable due to neglect -plastic furniture, dirty and notusable. Painters and decorators working on the main house next door all week didn't help. Sofas were not comfortable and needed reupholstering so couldn't sit comfortably in the dining area. Sofas in the upper sitting room are not as in the photos on the web site - not particularly comfortable. Despite all of this we enjoyed the atmosphere ,tranquility and quirkiness of the place. The caretaker(Tim) and agent (Judith) were helpful when problems were raised and resolved most of them quickly.

  • "Upstairs really good, and certainly loads of space overall and a BRILLIANT bird feeder- but here are a few things that could be helpful: a) Would have been nice were the fire laid for arrival-not just an ash filled grate."

Sticks need to be provided as on the information. We had to buy them locally. b) A surfeit of ancient cobwebs, esp. in kitchen c) Would benefit from a wiring/electrician check-many switches do nothing, and a couple by the door separating cloakroom from main living area seemed rather dodgy. d) A little welcome pack is becoming normal nowadays-it means a lot and costs very little-pint of milk, bottle of wine, loaf...dog treats or kids treat depending on guests etc e) Definitely the house would have benefited from a 'walks from the house' guide, local maps etc.

The property

Llo Bach is a fantastic holiday cottage set in a rural location in the Welsh countryside.

The cottage is in a very rural location, but not too far from the village of Llangernyw, located in the beautiful Elwy Valley close to where the River Cledwen joins the River Elwy. The hub of the house is the galleried sitting and dining area, the focal point being a gorgeous revolving log burner which you can aim in any direction. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, and a small dining area. Up several steps from the galleried hallway is a lovely alcove with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, brimming with books of historical importance and plenty of information about the local area.

There is another large sitting room up here with plenty of comfy seating and an open fire.

French doors open out onto the private courtyard outside. There is a downstairs cloakroom with a loo. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, with a twin and a double bed, both complete with en suites. Outside the property is a private courtyard. From here, it is only 10 miles to the sandy beaches at Conwy Morfa and Llandudno, and 10 miles to the Snowdonia National Park.

Llangernyw has two pubs, an antiques shop, and a village shop with a post office. There are some local attractions in the area, but the village is most renowned for the 4500 to 5000-year-old yew tree in the grounds of St Digain's Church in the centre of the village.

Here you are able to touch one of the three oldest living things on the planet!

The yew tree took root sometime in the Bronze Age and is still a thriving and healthy tree today. The interior of Llo Bach is an eclectic mix of carefully chosen furniture and unique decorative items, such as the magnificent tapestry and the formal Afghan outfit hanging on a wall. This is an open and sociable house, situated in beautiful scenery with gorgeous walks in the surrounding areas.

If you are looking for a holiday cottage with a difference, then Llo Bach will hit the spot! If you have more than 4 in your party why not rent Llo Bach Bach as well.
