  • "What a wonderful cottage we had a lovely family holiday the cottage had everything we needed and in such a great location."

    Thanks the Matthews Family

  • "This cottage is not cheap so we were expecting the highest standard - hence the honest criticism."

A ‘welcome pack’ - some milk, couple of tea bags would be a nice gesture. Downstairs rooms are spacious with comfortable furniture. Kitchen is well stocked. Good location with lovely views. We were expecting a dedicated parking space but the next door occupants parked outside our cottage the entire week! Good internet service. However we all found the TV very challenging to operate and it would also be useful to have another tv in the ‘snug’? Lovely bathrooms, good showers and towels. Main bedroom light & spacious with plenty of storage. Quality of bedding was average, pillows in particular need replacing. The fitted sheet was too small for the mattress. Although we had asked in advance for the sofa bed to be made up, it wasn’t.

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased you found the cottage comfortable, spacious and in a good location. There are no dedicated parking spaces and none are suggested on the website. This has never been raised as an issue before and we are comfortable that there is sufficient off-road parking available along the terrace. Regarding the sofa bed, the request was not passed on by Sykes who now realise that was an error on their part. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused you. We have spoken to the cleaning company to reinforce the need to fit the correct size sheets to the relevant beds and to replace pillows as necessary. We are reviewing the situation with regard to the tv and a welcome pack. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a lovely location in the middle of Cricceth."

We loved it. It is spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is extremely well equipped. The only point I would make is that the master bedroom has lots of windows, not all of which have coverings, so very light in the early morning. The other 2 bedrooms are fine.

Thank you for your feedback, and so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and Criccieth. We will take your comments into consideration. Property Owner

  • "Excellent location."

Very spacious cottage which was well- equipped. Disappointed with the heating level...in particular we felt it necessary to pack bin liners into gaps in windows, which seemed to have been poorly fitted. Full marks and thanks to housekeeper who went above and beyond in forwarding a camera.

We are sorry to hear you had an issue with the heating level .This has not been an issue that has ever come to light previously and we use the property ourselves as well as letting it out to guests .Unfortunately since we were not made aware of your difficulty until now, we were unable to provide any help / advice during your stay. We will of course look into this in more depth. Property Owner

  • "We were 4 adults who had never been to North Wales before."

Undoubtedly the high spot of the week was a day spent at Portmeirion Village. We had lunch there - and just a little tip. If you book ahead for lunch you get free entry to the village - it saved us £68!! The Blaenau Ffetiniog railways was another day's experience and we fitted in visits to Lloyd George's house, Harlech castle, Caernarfon , a fabulous visit to the slate mines which meant a wonderful picturesque trip round Snowdon. We had several meals locally at Dylans, Spice Bank (takeaway) and Poachers (highly recommend) sunday lunch at Portmeirion. As for the cottage - it looks lovely. And Fiona has thought of everything - a marvellous place to stay - thank you

  • "Fantastic week at Brook Cottage."

Couldn't have wished for more! Superb decor and cleanliness with wonderful adventures. But the best thing by far is the outstanding view from the front of the house across the whole of Criccieth. We had sunshine for most of the week and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area. Well worth a trip up the castle, and a reset to Dylan's, but you must book ahead. Also worth visiting Portmeirion. Favorite beaches were Harlech, Morfa Nefyn, Porth Iago and Criccieth for rock pooling. Didn't have time to go on the steam train, so we will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend Brook Cottage

  • "We had a great stay at Brook Cottage."

A lovely place, with both quaint charm and modern furnishings and it was well equipped. We loved sitting on the bench at the front in the evenings watching the beautiful view. Parking is right outside the cottage. It is in a very quiet setting with only a short walk into Criccieth and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend. The only slight negative was the relatively late arrival and early departure times compared to many other self catering places we’ve stayed in.

  • "We had a very good week staying at Brook Cottage recently."

The cottage is beautiful- well equipped, comfortable and with tasteful interior décor. The beds are super comfy. There was plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and the kitchen is very well equipped. There is everything you could need. We loved sitting at the front in the evening sunshine where there is a lovely view down to the sea. This area is beautiful- with huge beaches and pretty sandy coves. We loved the coast path and also a hike up Snowdon on a fabulous day where we had incredible views in all directions. We can highly recommend Brook Cottage and hope to come back to explore more of this beautiful area.

  • "Well what an absolutely wonderful cottage!"

Lovely walk along the beach and through fields, ending with a drink at Dylan's. Snowdon is a 30min drive away - and well worth the climb to the top. Also visited the pretty seaside town Llandudno - felt like wed gone back in time.. in the best way possible. Weather has been a mixture of sunshine and rain, meaning we've been able to explore and relax in the cottage. The perfect place to enjoy. North Wales

Great view of the sea and castle at the front. Nice terrace/patio at the back. The beds were comfortable, plenty of storage for clothes, cases etc. It was a short walk to the sea and castle, coffee shops and restaurants. The only things we would suggest to the owner are, in the welcome book, clear instructions for using the heating and the tv would be helpful, and where nearest supermarket is.

The property

Brook Cottage is a traditional stone fronted holiday cottage on the outskirts of the popular seaside village of Criccieth on the Llyn Peninsula.

It has been lovingly restored and cheerfully decorated to make for the ideal family seaside pad.

You’ll be surprised how much space there is - it really is a tardis!

Generous, bright rooms and a great enclosed rear courtyard for dining al fresco provides everything you could need for a relaxing break in North Wales. The sitting room is bright and airy but feels cosier for the electric fire which is surrounded by comfy sofas and a statement wing-back chair (which is delightful to sit in!).

There’s a TV and DVD Player too. The open plan kitchen-diner is also bright and has a modern feel.

Skylights mean light floods in this room, making it such a happy space to cook family meals in!

The kitchen is compact but perfectly appointed with a dishwasher, fridge freezer, separate fridge and electric range cooker.

Don’t fear, there is a washing machine in the utility area which is just off the kitchen! The dining area has plenty of space with a table and plenty of seating for everyone.

Ideal for a family breakfast where you can discuss the exciting adventures that lay ahead for that day. On the ground floor there is a shower room with large cubicle, hand basin and loo. There is one good-sized double bedroom with direct access to the rear patio and to the Jack and Jill bathroom which also has a door to the main hall.

In here there is shower, hand basin and loo. There’s a further double bedroom and a twin room, too!

An excellent bonus is the dressing / reading room just off the master bedroom.

This room has a double sofa bed that can be made available upon request. The enclosed garden is to the back of the cottage and has a paved terrace and outdoor seating.

Sit out here and soak up the sunshine with a glass of wine and a book - bliss! Whilst we love this holiday cottage, the location is equally loveable!

Criccieth has a buzz that only comes from a seaside village and there’s plenty to see and do whether it’s spring, summer, autumn or winter.

You’ll find shops, places to eat, walks, a beach and a castle all within walking distance!

Venture further afield along the Llyn Peninsula to Abersoch or Nefyn for some more brilliant beaches and walks.

Definitely consider heading over into Snowdonia and getting the most of two popular regions in North Wales whilst you’re here - it’s not far away! Please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival if you would like use of the sofa bed.

Note The charging of electric/hybrid cars is not permited at this property.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
