  • "First of all we would like to take this opportunity to thank Delyth for her warm welcome and helpfulness and we received such a warm welcome to Clydfan ."

We actually met a couple of times which was important The cottage is beyond belief .The photos are good but it is not until you are there that you realise just how amazing it really is .Everything was just right .It was quite literally a home from home You want for nothing whether you went out for a meal or cook a meal in the amazing kitchen which we did a few times .The garden is lovely and if you fancy a bit of cooking there's a Bramley apple tree crying out to be picked ,or take some home for a crumble .The loungers were brilliant especially given the weather we had during our visit. We had a day of doing absolutely nothing other than relaxing with a book .If you don't bring one with you ,don't worry You certainly wont need to with the extensive library in the lounge .The place is a warm and inviting place in such a beautiful setting and the stars at night are something to behold .No light pollution there .Make you feel so insignificant as do the Snowdonia mountains .They are a sight to see. Take a drive up to Llanberis and you'll see what I mean . It is so quiet here Just perfect. There are information pamphlets available so there is no excuse not to explore and I for one thoroughly recommend this gorgeous cottage and we will God willing will return .We've had Gites in France and Villas in Greek that cannot hold a candle to this little GEM Thankyou ,especially to Delyth who has quite clearly done a marvellous job .In the immortal words of Arnie or Boris for that matter !! • "We had an excellent stay at this beautifully, recently restored Welsh long cottage located quietly in a small village a handful of miles from the coast on the stunning Llyn Peninsula ."

It is also very well placed for the mountains and we spent most of the week walking up them! For a one bedroom house there is a VERY generous amount of space, a proper sized kitchen , living room, bathroom etc. The whole of the interior is extremely tasteful , the right balance of contemporary and modern, totally in keeping with the character of the cottage. I have even stolen some of the owners ideas for our own home ! There is good wifi and mobile reception. Outside to the front of the property there is a lovely well tended and stocked garden with a patio which offers a good degree of privacy. Being south facing you get the sun all day , when of course the sun shines. A great place to sit out at the end of a long day walking with a glass of wine… The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly . There was even a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. In summary a perfect cottage and hopefully we will be able to book again, availability allowing, as I am sure it will get extremely booked up year round .

Thank you so much for your lovely review.I look forward to welcoming you back for another holiday. Property Owner

  • "We loved it."

Clydfan provided everything we needed. Despite the unusually high temperatures, the property was remarkably cool and comfortable. It was the perfect place for two. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden, each evening on our return from our various excursions. We loved the calm, the quiet and the tranquillity which Clydfan provides. The location is perfect. OK so you have to drive to Porthmadog for a supermarket but that really didn't trouble us. Clydfan is just a few minutes drive away from Criccieth which we really enjoyed and went back to several times. We loved the beach, the castle, the local gift and craft shops, and the eateries particularly Blue China and Dylan's with its marvellous art deco building and mobile food stations. Clydfan has so many great attractions on its doorstep and sadly we ran out of time. We loved Portmeirion, Beaumaris, and Bodnant Gardens. Our thanks to Delyth, the owner, for providing a warm welcome, a folder full of useful information and some vital updates during out stay. We will definitely have no hesitation in recommending Clydfan to family and friends and would love to return ourselves to enjoy, explore and re-energise again.
