  • "It’s a beautifully appointed property for the price and is in a great location being only 5 minutes to each of the beaches in town and and even shorter jaunt to the high street."

Games room is a great idea for adults and kids alike! Located next to the train station for any forays into the Welsh countryside but also trains are infrequent enough not to disturb your stay.

Thank you for your lovely review. We love the location so handy for everything. We hope you will return to Ty Copr Perlog soon. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and equipped with everything that we could possibly need for a week long stay plus a good bit more that we never used."

The bed was excellent with a good en suite shower. We loved the views which are better than the photos in the listing suggest. Criccieth is a pleasant little town handy for visiting the peninsula. I hadn’t enjoyable swim in the bay. National trust sites at Penrhyn, Plas yn Rhiw and Plas Newydd are all worth a visit. Would also recommend Abersoch and Aberdaron. In Criccieth we had excellent fish and chips from Paddy’s and Spice Bank was good. We made use of the ev charger at Ty Copr Perlog which is Type 2 and worked well. We would love to return.

Thank you for your lovely review. We love the beds and have even replaced our home beds with the same as Ty Copr! The views are always simply stunning and we really enjoy sitting and watching them from the balcony. Pleased the EV charger worked well. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Super comfy beds and nice powerful showers. The owners have provided everything that you need, even down to a built in wine chiller which was put to good use! Great location with many restaurants and local shops within easy walking distance and lovely villages and towns a short drive away. The house is also right next to Criccieth train station and 7 minutes takes you to Porthmadog where you can then catch a Ffestiniog/Welsh Highland Railways train to the like of Snowdonia or Caernarfon. If planning to visit this area, we wouldn't hesitate in suggesting that you book Ty Copr Perlog. You won't be disappointed!!

  • "Fantastic property, will everything you could possibly need."

The house is well designed and the owners have clearly considered how guests will use the property. The kitchen has all the equipment you need for cooking and serving even picnic ware and a blender. The games room is great for kids with table football, games console, tv and fishing nets. We loved the balcony and the sea views. You are very close to the high street which is really handy however you are tucked away so you feel secluded. The garden is on the ground floor so the balcony was great for our toddler to roam about and get some fresh air without having to go downstairs. Criccieth is a fab little town with lots to do, some great restaurants and shops. Its also lovely to walk round and the sea views are amazing. Can't wait to come back!

Thank you so much for your lovely detailed review, so pleased to hear all those positive comments. We have tried hard to make the house work for all ages and needs. We also love sitting on the balcony watching the view and then strolling into town for a fabulous meal. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ty Copr Perlog very soon. Property Owner

The house has been finished to a really high standard. Everything was thoughtfully laid out with nice little extras, like a basket of blankets for sitting out on the lovely sunny balcony. All of the beds are super comfortable with lovely bedding, we were well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We even the odd fighter jet going over! The property is in a great position with a very short walk to the beach and access to a quaint little two- carriage railway service. The town has everything you need, the butchers is amazing! and the surrounding area is breath-taking. We Cannot fault this property, we will be back.

  • "Just had a lovely week in Ty Copr Perlog & settling down to write a review we were very surprised at some of the comments made by the previous reviewer."

Our experience was much closer to the many other previous positive comments. The property was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Ideally situated for access to the Lleyn Peninsula and beyond. On arrival we were made to feel instantly at home by the many thoughtful touches, including an essentials pack (with some much appreciated extras!) As a courtesy the owner had informed us before our arrival of certain minor defects, including the dishwasher, which did not affect any functionality. The kitchen/living area had everything you could need & was very comfortable. The weather during our stay was quite autumnal & the heating system was very efficient. Both the ensuite & the family bathroom were clean & functional & the beds & bedding of a high quality. The proximity of the railway caused us no disturbance whatsoever. The property’s situation is as described on the website. We’d have no hesitation in returning or recommending Ty Copr Perlog to others.

Thank you for you lovely review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our home, we love spending time there. Thank you also for you understanding regarding the dishwasher, so frustrating when new things break, the manufacturer has thankfully replaced it with a new one! Property Owner

  • "Very disappointing."

Bath was leaking through the living room ceiling. Owner expected us stay in the house for two days to deal with the plumber, housekeeper and the repairs. Dishwasher did not work, floor panels on the balcony are loose, the house sprinkler system is 6 months overdue it’s maintenance test (is this even legal?) the hot water went off for one evening. The site adjacent to the house is described as a builder’s long term storage site - not true. The whole week we were there it was being used by Network Rail as a full blown worksite for works on Criccieth station. Diggers were rumbling past from the yard to the station and back from early morning every day. Wagons, lorries and low loaders were queuing up right outside the house for access to this ‘long term storage site.’ We couldn’t get the car off the drive on two days. The owners cut off contact with me and Sykes did not respond either. We were just left to deal with all the problems ourselves. Worst holiday experience. Half our party had had enough half way through the week and went home. Disappointed with lack of contact.

As we have had 100% positive reviews all season, we were disappointed to read your review Having spoken to Menai they think you replied to a “no reply email” rather than calling them on the number they gave, so they spoke you at home. Following your feedback, they have amended their contact process, we are grateful to you for highlighting this. The land next to the property is owned by the builder and he uses it for storage only. On this one occasion he allowed Network Rail to park their vehicles in the evening to keep the driveways clear and safe while they were carrying out some engineering works. I apologise we were not made aware. There is no expectation of guests being at the house for any maintenance issues, we have a key safe and only use known tradesmen so guests can continue to enjoy their stay. Thankfully, the leak was very small and repaired quickly. The dishwasher sadly was a warranty issue and there was a delay getting it fixed. The loose plank on the other side of the balustrade was a missing small nail and again thankfully a simple fix. Thank you for highlighting the old sticker on the sprinkler system, I have removed it. The plumber has checked the hot water, thankfully he found no issues, but always good to check. As I said, we are very sorry to receive your review as we work hard to ensure everyone enjoys the property, the wonderful part of the country and the experience as much as we do. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Ty Copr Perlog for two weeks."

It’s a high spec new build house which is very comfortable and stylish. It is very well equipped, with even a games room downstairs. We enjoyed our stay very much. Criccieth is well situated for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and with a car, you can easily do day trips to Anglesey, Snowdonia or mid-Wales. The town has a couple of pubs, Dylans Restaurant (more bistro and cocktail menu, quite good), a decent Indian takeaway, excellent ice cream at Cadwalladers and a superb fish and chip shop (be prepared to queue!). Porthmadog is good for stocking up at Tesco which also has reliably cheap petrol. Criccieth has an amazing long beach which is great for walks and blowing away the cobwebs. A couple of things to share. The house is a stone’s throw from Criccieth train station and you can watch the comings and goings on the platform from the balcony. The trains are slow (ie fairly quiet) and infrequent so this wasn’t a big deal for us, but you do need to take care crossing the train line into town especially with pets and small kids. A larger downside for us was that the view from the balcony is rather unlovely. To the left is an unused building plot - presumably where the next new houses will be built - and the view of the sea and castle is only partially visible from the top floor, not the balcony so the romantic evening G&T is hard to achieve. We didn’t really use the back garden as it would need a military operation to get all our food, etc out from the kitchen to the garden and back again. If we had an army of kids or a second family this would have been much easier.

So pleased you had a good stay, we hope to welcome you back to Ty Copr Perlog soon. Property Owner

The house is just as described, as others have said it caters for every need. The master bedroom is very comfortable with amazing views. The living area and balcony are lovely, we enjoyed coffee outside when the sun shone and the little single track train passing added to our holiday experience. Also lovely to see the Castle lit up in the evening from the balcony/bedroom. A short walk from the front of the house takes you through a little park towards the castle and beach. A short walk from the rear of the house takes you to High Street which offers a choice of takeaways and everyday shopping supplies. This was our first visit to Criccieth and the Lyn Peninsula… trips to Porthmadog and Black Rock Sands, Pwllheli, Nefyn, Aberdaron and Abersoch are highly recommended and within very easy reach. A beautiful house in a beautiful part of Wales, highly recommended.

  • "Stunning property, nicely tucked away from the high-street."

Walking distance to local shops, takeaways and pubs. It's a short walk from the beach too, which was also breathtaking (even in the winter storms!). The only thing to be aware of is the property overlooks the train station, so you get diesel trains in the evening and early morning. The property itself is exactly as listed (and the listing doesn't do it justice), with high quality furnishings - like a comfy, modern home. Very clean, every detail considered, which makes you feel very welcome.

Thank you so much for you lovely review. I think they must have run extra services last week as they are finishing some engineering works, we weren’t aware of this, apologies. There is normally only an every 2 hrs service each way and the trains are extra slow trains as the level crossing is close by! We hope to welcome you back to Ty Copr Perlog in the future. It was so comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. I particularly loved waking up to the sea views from the master bedroom! We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals at Dylan's (just make sure you book in advance). The kids (aged 12 & 8) loved Zip World - it was a lot of fun. We also did quad biking at Dragon Raiders, just 5 minutes drive away. I think our favourite day was a trip to Llanbedrog beach - WOW. The sand is so soft and the sea so shallow - it's the perfect place for children to play. I think it's actually the nicest beach I've seen in the UK (although we did go on a very sunny and warm day - it was glorious!) We have had a wonderful week - thank you so much. We will be back!
