The house is even better than the photos. Well equipped, comfortable and the views are stunning. Thank you for responding so quickly to the heating issue.

  • "Update waste disposal instructions and heating switch on ."

We are sorry to hear that you had a two issues while staying at Ty Glyn. With respect to waste disposal, there are blue Council recycling bins at the back of the house, they clearly indicate paper, glass, metal and plastic, compostible food waste goes in the small brown bin (bags provided) and everything else goes in the large green Council rubish bin. The housekeeper puts these bins to the curb on the appropriate collection day. We will revisit the instructions to ensure that this is clear. With respect to heating, there are six pre-programmed thermostats for the under floor heating, they should have been on at your arrival. In addition, there are on demand wall heaters in the bedrooms, these do need to be turned on, and there is a towel warmer in the main bath, and this too needs to be turned on by visitors. We checked with our housekeeper, and she did not hear from you regarding these matters, which she would have been able to readily respond to. Again, we are sorry that you had these concerns. From booking to arrival there’s never any problems whatsoever. It was our 2nd stay at Ty Glyn and it was as good as our 1st time. Comfortable, clean, ideally located etc. The only problem we had was…that we had to leave. Thank you Menai for another stress free holiday. You could perhaps give other travel/holiday companies tips on how to treat customers!. Kind regards Simon

  • "Superb holiday let best one we’ve been in."

Kitchen facilities were spot on apart from the dishwasher not working correctly, however I managed to realise what the problem was and soon got it working properly. One slight niggle is in the separate bathroom, one of the fixings for the toilet seat needs attention, it requires tightening since the seat slides about. All in all a great time was had and will probably be back again next year. Criccieth is definitely the jewel in Liŷn peninsula thoroughly recommend a visit.

  • "Premium rental fee but unfortunately, budget IKEA furniture and Pound Shop accessories."

If you are charging rent of £1000’s per week, please furnish the apartment accordingly with quality comfortable furniture I’ve seen better student accommodation. Kitchen well equipped but overall maintenance needed of blinds and French doors to balcony as they are stuck and difficult to open. Overall - price not matched by quality of furnishings. Disappointing.

Many thanks for your feedback, it is always appreciated when guests leave their comments, it steers us and our owners in the right direction as far as what we are all are trying to achieve, namely guest satisfaction. Our owners have looked at the blind and repaired it . It was the chain that has now been repaired and the owners will check with the house keeper to make sure that she uses some lubrication on the balcony doors, as whilst affording great views, are susceptible to the prevailing weather, which was particularly inclement over the Christmas and New Year, which we feel impacted on the Patio doors. The feedback for this property has been historically very favourable and your review will help us in trying to keep our standards up. The Menai Holiday Team Property Owner

Listening to the waves crashing whilst reading a book on the sofa is the exact weekend we were after to celebrate my 27th birthday my 'boyfriend' booked the place as a suprise and shortly after arriving asked to go for a walk to the pier to stretch our legs after the two hour drive. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the perfect weekend to become his fiance and to spend the rest of the weekend in this gorgeous home was the perfect way to spend our time during the 'engagement bubble'. It will forever be a special spot for us - Thank you!

If you don't want to cook then Ty Glyn is close enough to numerous Cafe's, Restaurants and Take Away outlets for you to enjoy. • "Nice well-equipped house with mostly* great views, but unfortunately noisy at times so it didn’t make for a relaxing holiday."

If I’d known there were going to be building works next door I wouldn’t have booked, but by the time I was made aware it was too late to do anything about it so we just hoped it wouldn’t cause any problems. However, building started at 8am or just before most weekdays, and largely consisted of loud banging and sawing until around 4-4:30pm, so although we planned to visit other places during our stay we were more or less forced out of the house regardless. Although the view directly facing the sea was unspoiled, you couldn’t unsee the unsightly scaffolding when looking left on the balcony, nor ignore the traffic accessing the public carpark next door to the house, although the latter wasn’t an issue after about 6pm. Last but not least, the house backs onto a railway line, but to be fair this is mentioned in the property description. What isn’t mentioned is that the first train is 6:45am apart from Sunday’s, then hourly, and it didn’t fail to wake us up. Then we snoozed til the next one, then weekdays had to get up when the builders started. Glad to be home for a rest, although still enjoyed the rest of our stay at weekends and after 5pm...

Everything you could possibly need for your self catering holiday. However be prepared for the 6.45 am train every morning if you can sleep through that your a better person than me. .Also at the moment you have the builders next door if the train doesnt wake you up the builders will as they arrive about 8.00am banging and sawing and playing loud music all day it will be nice to go home and have some peace and quiet .

We are extremely happy that you loved the house and the fantastic sea views. Criccieth is a great location with its 2 beaches, castle and wide selection of shops and places to eat and drink. We are sorry that you found yourself to be disturbed. We have made special note of certain things on the website to alert anyone who might be looking for a more quiescent setting. Property Owner

The property

Ty Glyn is a holiday cottage in Criccieth, on the Llyn Peninsula, that commands the most incredible sea views!

It has been finished with flair and care to create a contemporary, spacious but welcoming holiday cottage.

Ty Glyn makes the most of the incredible sea views by having the bedrooms downstairs and the open plan living space upstairs.

You are welcomed into a spacious hallway that has lots of storage.

Stairs take you up to the amazing open living area that includes the kitchen, dining & sitting areas.

Underfloor heating in here keeps things cosy in the colder months. The sitting area is spacious and has floor to ceiling windows and doors that lead out onto the veranda.

Through these and on the veranda you can take in beautiful and ever-changing sea views!

There’s a cosy corner sofa, a Smart TV and DVD player.

You can also sign in to your own Netflix and Amazon accounts.

The contemporary kitchen has all you need for cooking up tasty meals - a micro-grill, electric hob and oven with exterior fan, 5 shelf fridge and three drawer freezer, dishwasher, washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.

The breakfast bar is ideal for snacks, or your morning cuppa and croissant! Back to the ground floor now!

You’ll find two bathrooms.

One en-suite with loo, wash hand basin and shower.

There’s also the family bathroom with integral wash hand basin with drawers, loo, bath and shower over. The two bedrooms are spacious and have quality furnishings, fluffy towels and gorgeous linen.

The relaxing master bedroom has a king sized bed sea views, a TV and lots of storage.

The second bedroom also has a king sized bed.

An additional day bed can be made up by prior request. The gorgeous balcony comprises your outside space.

It has toughened glass sides which keeps the sea breezes at bay so you can enjoy uninterrupted sea views over Cardigan Bay.

We especially recommend sitting out here with a glass of wine and soaking up the sunsets.

There is parking for two cars outside the holiday cottage but there is a car park to the front of the house if you need it. From Ty Glyn you can walk along the promenade into the centre of Criccieth.

Here you’ll find a castle, great places to eat and drink including good old ice cream and fish and chips!

You can also browse around the shops on the high street or head to the coastal path which is almost on your doorstep.

From this fabulous holiday cottage you could explore beaches and attractions and have experiences not just on the Llyn Peninsula, but into Snowdonia and its majestic mountains, too!

A happy family holiday by the seaside in North Wales is assured at Ty Glyn.
