  • “I had to clean all saucepans as still had food stuck to them.”

I threw away the dirty dish cloth and two very worn out washing up sponges. It took ten minutes before we could open the back door as poorly maintained. The shower leaked. The sink downstairs loo leaked. Furniture was dirty with food down the sides of the sofa, crumbs under the table. Dead flies in the light of the extractor fan. All the furnishings were either old or as cheap as could possibly be bought. The bed linen was not ironed. Carpets worn and dirty. No lamps in the living area. The tv ...

The tv aerial didnt fit properly making reception very poor. No details about the house or local area. No fire safety measures except one smoke alarm. Just metres away from the very busy and noisy A49. The house is on a building site with workmen and lorries arriving by 7.45. The dog next door is put outside at 7.00am every morning and cries (and howls) until allowed back indoors. This house seriously damaged Sykes reputation. Definitely not up to the company's standard. Definitely not reflected in the price of the house rental of £663 for the week in September. We left early!!

Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing you did not bring to our attention the problems you encountered , we would have been more than happy to rectify those issues that we could. Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for external influences. We have taken your comments on board where we can and the property is undergoing refurbishment after a very busy summer season.
