The cottage was warm and comfortable just a couple of small faults with cleanliness the microwave was not very clean but it is now because I cleaned it before using ,the washing machine rubber is awful I did try to get the gunge out but there was that much it needs a washing machine cleaner run through it but otherwise the rest of the cottage was perfect and when we had a slight hot water issue Sue and her husband were there within 25 minutes to sort it out could not ask for a more rapid response ,very nice helpful couple I had not tried to use washer before they came but I'm sure they would have addressed the gunge ,all in all God willing we would return as it was everything you could want in a holiday cottage thank you

  • "Stunning location at the end of a beautiful valley."

Great access to the Snowdonia slate trail. We used this lovely detached cottage as a base to discover Snowdonia but would be happy to return for a week and relax in Cwm Penmachno as it is so picturesque and tranquil, we cannot recommend this property enough!

  • "My wife spent the first few hours of our holiday cleaning the house."

It was disgusting, there was dog hairs and food down the sides of the couch and the couch itself was dirty. There was dog hairs all over the floor and carpets. You would think that due to Covid 19 still present and restrictions remaining in place in Wales, that the cleanliness of the cottage would have been to a higher standard. With the price payed, I expected better. During our stay the oven fell out of the unit onto my foot. The shower also leaked though the ceiling into the living room. The bath had mold round the sealant and the tiles in the bath area were discoloured with yellow scum which looked like it hadn't ever been cleaned. Then little things like the extractor fan over the hob didn’t work or part of the toaster. The cottage itself was lovely and it was in a lovely area but due to the cleanliness we wouldn’t go back. This is the third cottage we have had with Skyes cottages and definitely the worst.

We have stayed 3 times. The last time we unfortunately had very bad weather but it was so cosy with the log burner going. So lovely to see the baby lambs in the fields. Will definately return for a fourth time.

It was nice being remote in the valley. This is a good location with access to local villages and Snowdonia is not far to drive to.

  • "What a wonderful cottage."

Beautiful location with rolling hills full of sheep and new born lambs. Everything you would want is no more than a 30 minute drive from Snowdon to Harlech beach. Some great walks right on your doorstep you really do feel you are away from everything. The cottage itself is very comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Good sized Kitchen, comfy beds, great shower, very warm heating and lovely log burner. I would highly recommend this property.

  • "The cottage was comfortable and warm."

The large stove generated surprisingly little heat and was difficult to keep going without coal, but the heating made the place cosy. All rooms were nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped, with the exception of a bottle opener and good gin glasses! A back door leading straight on to the back garden would have made it even better for dog owners, but the road outside the cottage was quiet so going out the front door and through the side gate wasn't a problem for our pup. The location was quiet and peaceful. The only loud noise was the baaing of sheep! All the walks straight from the cottage require dogs to be on leads because of the sheep, but we found plenty of off-lead walks a drive away. The nearest food shop isn't close so we advise stocking up when you find one.

The cottage has all you need for a really comfortable stay and has a small garden at the rear. We had a fabulous stay and hope to go back at some point. The views are stunning with moutains and streams and sheep. I cannot recommend this cottage more highly. If you, you book this cottage you will not regret it.

  • "We had a great time."

The owner emailed us to check that all was well and to ask if we had anything they might improve which was great. When we arrived there was some butter ,milk, teabags, sugar and some fruit loaf for us. Everything was fine in the house and we were very pleased. The village is a dead end and so it is very quiet which was nice. There is no mobile signal which I thought was an advantage, others may not, but there was wifi in the house. To get to a restaurant you have to drive but we just cooked. You are in the middle of some wonderful country. Thumbs up from us.

  • "Bron Heulog is a gorgeous cottage in a very special location and we had a lovely holiday, thank you."

We loved the kitchen (just one small thing ..the cooking knives are very blunt), the cosy living room with very comfy sofas, and lovely fresh bathroom. The garden was perfect as we had such lovely weather and we loved the peace and quite and our neighbours the sheep. Just to explain why we didn't give top marks for comfort...the double bed mattress was very uncomfortable and the bottom sheet rather bobbly and worn out. Owner Response: Our bedding is replaced new at Easter every year so we are very surprised to hear that your sheet was bobbly. as a matter of policy I have now replaced the sheet to ensure that we maintain our high standards in bedding. We have not received a negative comment about our mattresses being uncomfortable and this was also a new replacement this year this Easter so I will now be closely monitoring future feedback regarding this and will take action if this arises. Thank you very much for your feed back.

On arrival we were welcomed by a tray of goodies which was very well thought of and instantly made us feel at home. The fire was amazing, we bought extra wood from the shops in Bets-y-coed (lovely little village with the swallow falls)!! We loved our neighbours opposite (the sheep!!). Sue was amazing, she thought of every home from home comfort and was always there by email if we needed her. The pictures of this place honestly don’t do it justice. The location of the cottage is amazing with views to die for. I would highly recommend visiting for a traditional cottage experience!!
