  • "Lovely property with everything you would need."

Had a lovely stay. Only slight fault was the statement it had a sea view over Anglesey. It did, but through a tiny porthole window. Wouldn’t stop me coming back. Thankyou.

  • "Quirky property but felt it was dated and was in need of a little further attention and cleaning to make me want to return."

For example when we arrived there was strong odour and the rug in the lounge was very worn, dirty and smelly and I believe it's where I got an insect bite from sitting there whilst playing games. The utensils like the can opener were poor and the small fridge with no shelves was not ideal especially if u were staying for longer than a few days. Big freezer but no ice trays. Also mould on the bathroom ceiling and bedroom tvs without hdmi Other than that it was ok for a few days, 10 mins walk to Deganwy beach but no pub or shops in walking distance Bus stop nearby and short drive into conwy or Llandudno was good Good parking and nice quiet area

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are going to address the cleaning issues with the cleaning team, we have also booked some time in to address the maintenance issues, after a busy Summer period it has been difficult to find the time to do so. We are always on hand for guests if there are any issues during their stay, we keep phone numbers in the property so please let us know if we can help. We hope that you enjoyed your holiday, once again thank you for the constructive feedback. Property Owner

Also central heating far more controllable as we have found the property far too hot for our liking in the past. Only criticism is with the fridge which has the bottom shelf missing in the door and the freezer which is missing one of the drawers. Hopefully we will return to vacating the property by 10am not 9am with access being before 4pm as pre covid precautions.

The hosting company for the house were very responsive. The house was expensive and yet it was very cheaply filled, The beds were awful, really cheap mattresses that you could feel the springs through. It was damp in all the bedrooms and there were damp patches on the ceilings, Each night going to bed the bedding felt damp and cold. Sykes need to inspect their properties because if you are going to charge double the going rate for the same property you need to provide a service.

  • "It's a nice house, but there were a few issues with our stay."

The double bed we slept in was comfortable, but I noticed a very small stain on the throw. The wi-fi signal downstairs is so poor that you have to take your mobile, etc., upstairs to use the Internet. It's also worth noting that there isn't a bath, just a shower. Furthermore, the electric hob in the kitchen was not in a good state and there weren't any oven gloves. The big disappointment was, though, the lack of live TV and I couldn't stream any TV downstairs due to the poor wi-fi signal, when I used my computer. It wouldn't have been so much of a problem in the Summer due to the long daylight-hours; but in the Winter, when the attractions close at 4pm and the shops in Conwy at 5pm, this is a real problem. To avoid getting bored in the evening and dining in a silent house, we made sure we visited some pubs in and around Snowdonia. We would have also to have like to be met by the owners. The fact that we had to call the owner's mobile to know how to collect the keys (from a key-safe, it turned out) and that there was no meet and greet, gave us the impression that they didn't care about us at all.

The property

This fabulous, upside down link-detached cottage is located within a private estate, with views towards the Great Orme, and is set in the village of Deganwy, just two miles from Llandudno and Conwy.

The cottage makes a perfect base for friends and families to gather and enjoy time together, and explore the beautiful coastline of North Wales.

Nicely furnished and comfy, with a lovely homely feel throughout, this cottage is spacious and offers three good-size bedrooms on the ground floor, together with a well-appointed family bathroom and additional WC.

The living accommodation on the first floor has comfy seating for everyone and is a splendid, sociable space with a high-vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, plus dual aspect windows framing views of the garden towards the Great Orme and the West Shore.

There is also a dining area with a captain’s table and sliding patio doors leading out onto the decked roof terrace.

With further seating outside and beautiful views, it is a wonderful place for alfresco entertaining or a spot to simply relax and soak up the sunshine with a refreshing drink, served from your very own bar!

From the sitting room a spiral staircase leads up to a mezzanine snug, where you can escape to for a bit of quiet time with a good book!

With lots of memorabilia on display, there is a definite maritime theme running through the cottage.

There’s even a ship’s wheel and porthole with a sea view from the galley kitchen!

The gardens, predominately to the front of this lovely coastal cottage, are well tended to and lawned with deep beds and borders planted with an abundance of mature shrubs, small trees and plants.

An external spiral staircase leads up to the roof terrace, which provides more private outdoor space.

The covered car port and block-paved driveway provide plenty of parking, and an external utility room provides secure storage for bikes and golf clubs.

From the doorstep is a lovely walk across the golf course to the sandy West Shore Beach, where you can follow one of the many walks, varying in lengths, up to and around the Great Orme summit.

If your holiday is more about taking it easy, you can take the Great Orme Tramway or cable car, and enjoy some of the most spectacular views of this beautiful coastline.

Llandudno, with its Victorian pier and promenade, and Conwy’s medieval castle and attractive harbour are only two miles away and well-worth a visit.

The Snowdonia National Park, Llyn Peninsula and the wonderful Isle of Anglesey are all within easy reach too, offering endless opportunities for exciting days out.

In a great location, this cottage provides an ideal for a holiday discovering North Wales, all year long.

About the location

DEGANWY

Conwy 2 miles; Llandudno 3.5 miles.

The town of Deganwy, on the banks of the River Conwy at the mouth of the Estuary, is a very popular holiday destination. Deganwy has a marina, a small selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, and retains the ruins of Deganwy Castle, built in 1082 but later demolished. There is an abundance of activities to suit all interests on offer in this area; from sea fishing, walking and climbing in the Snowdonia range to enjoying the castles, mines, beaches and gardens of this beautiful stretch of the North Wales Coast. Deganwy is only a few miles from the holiday resorts of Conwy and Llandudno; Conwy boasts a medieval castle, town walls and a marina, plus winding streets which offer something for shoppers and diners alike. Llandudno was very popular during the Victorian era, and this is evident in the architecture and the very impressive promenade. The town also has a pier with family attractions, a theatre and for the more adventurous, a dry ski slope! Between Deganwy, Llandudno and Conwy, this area has so much to offer the entire family.
