Lovely cosy cottage. Well equipped. Beautiful peaceful location. Have already booked up for next year.

It would have been more comfortable if the stairs and upstairs bedrooms had been carpeted. The TV was very small and this meant moving furniture around in order to view.

  • "We stayed for three nights over Christmas and it was fabulous."

Weather was very kind to us and the location of the cottage was just perfect for us. To get here from the main road A5 it’s best to follow googlemaps instead of a car satnav as it’s more straightforward & quicker. We entered the cottage feeling warm and festive the sitting area was decorated and had a small Christmas tree with a welcome box containing local sweets and savouries - we felt homely. However a small feedback for the hosts, we appreciate it might be difficult at times as not every guests are sound but it can get across rather disappointing to mention all the house rules over the phone on your arrival a call or an email next day might be a subtle way. Overall We had a lovely stay, for that thank you again.

  • "Great cottage lovely location."

Not essential but two things that would improve the cottage is a more powerful/spacious shower which in November after hiking in the cold and wet is something you looking forward too. A bigger TV which again in November it's dark early so want to cosy up Infront of that in the evening.

  • "Very nice cottage, 10 minutes from Betws-y-Coed, but far enough for an under the stars experience."

Sleeping under the stars with a big window to the sky in the master bedroom was just what we needed. Very good communication with the owners, who live in a house a few meters away. Will definitely come back.

Views to die for, lovely walks (we brought our dog with us) and close to lots of places. My son particularly enjoyed ZipWorld which was just up the road and Betws-y-Coed is only 4 miles away. The cooked breakfast at the Conwy Falls cafe was lovely and within easy walking distance.

  • "Kathy met us as we arrived and was very accommodating and most importantly notified us (later on in the week) that we didn't have to vacate till 10:00 this makes a massive difference on any penultimate days stay, as you can really utilise this last day and not be worrying that you've got to be up and out so early the following day."

The cottage was just perfect and after spending 17 years stopping in different cottages this rates as the best. It was large enough for the two of us and our dog and not cluttered in any way (something that it seems a lot of cottage owners seem to do with stuff you don't need or want). It was spotlessly clean bright and airy. The sofas are really comfortable and the beds a delight to sleep on. It had everything we needed, including a private patio area. So would recommend a 100% and we will be back.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Arfron cottage and it was exactly what we expected from the listing."

Hosts were friendly but not intrusive, and ensured the property was clean on arrival. Beds and sofas are comfortable and we slept very well each night. Lovely peaceful location with nice views. Only minor observation was that the hot water was incredibly hot and should be regulated. TV with sky is small but adequate (we took our Amazon fire stick which worked well). EE and Vodafone had 4g reception, we didn't really miss WiFi (but we have unlimited data!). Only other compromise is the shared garden with a dog, quite tricky to ensure she didn't arrive uninvited next door!!! A long lead with a ground stake should be advised if your dog likes sunbathing! 9am checkout was a bit of an effort but managable, 10 or 11 would make a big difference :-) Overall a lovely stay and great value for money, would definitely return. Thanks Kathy and John!

  • "We didn't realize how far off the main roads down narrow lanes the cottage was."

The cottage was clean and well equipped apart from no salt & pepper, bread knife, no welcome pack or visitors book. The settees and the dining chairs where uncomfortable. The television was very small. To get into the cottage we had to go down 4 steep old steps with no hand rail to hold on to, I found this was dangerous when walking up them as well as carrying bags and suitcases down them. Not suitable for people with walking difficulty.

The average weekly rates for that particular cottages was actually lower than we had paid for 3 nights! 324 for a week yet we were charged £330 for a weekend. This is unfair and extortionate and for that reason alone I would never use Sykes nor reccomend the company again.

Perfectly clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful without being intrusive. Although linked each cottage has a private front patio with outdoor chairs and table. You wouldn't know you had neighbours, probably due to the very thick walls. Right in the heart of the beautiful countryside but within easy reach of the local attractions and excellent walks, forests, water falls and mountains. We took our dog Hector and found that an area of hillside, fenced off was right next door solely for the dog to run around safely :) We would go here again.
