  • "Lovely, welcoming owners and a perfect cottage to use as a base for our holiday."

Views to die for, lovely walks (we brought our dog with us) and close to lots of places. My son particularly enjoyed ZipWorld which was just up the road and Betws-y-Coed is only 4 miles away. The cooked breakfast at the Conwy Falls cafe was lovely and within easy walking distance.

  • "Kathy met us as we arrived and was very accommodating and most importantly notified us (later on in the week) that we didn't have to vacate till 10:00 this makes a massive difference on any penultimate days stay, as you can really utilise this last day and not be worrying that you've got to be up and out so early the following day."

The cottage was just perfect and after spending 17 years stopping in different cottages this rates as the best. It was large enough for the two of us and our dog and not cluttered in any way (something that it seems a lot of cottage owners seem to do with stuff you don't need or want). It was spotlessly clean bright and airy. The sofas are really comfortable and the beds a delight to sleep on. It had everything we needed, including a private patio area. So would recommend a 100% and we will be back.

Loved staying at Arfron, wonderful quiet location which was central to all the places we wanted to visit, good communication from owners, very comfortable and very clean, only negative comment would be TV was quite small

  • "We had a lovely stay at Arfron cottage and it was exactly what we expected from the listing."

Hosts were friendly but not intrusive, and ensured the property was clean on arrival. Beds and sofas are comfortable and we slept very well each night. Lovely peaceful location with nice views. Only minor observation was that the hot water was incredibly hot and should be regulated. TV with sky is small but adequate (we took our Amazon fire stick which worked well). EE and Vodafone had 4g reception, we didn't really miss WiFi (but we have unlimited data!). Only other compromise is the shared garden with a dog, quite tricky to ensure she didn't arrive uninvited next door!!! A long lead with a ground stake should be advised if your dog likes sunbathing! 9am checkout was a bit of an effort but managable, 10 or 11 would make a big difference :-) Overall a lovely stay and great value for money, would definitely return. Thanks Kathy and John!

  • "We didn't realize how far off the main roads down narrow lanes the cottage was."

The cottage was clean and well equipped apart from no salt & pepper, bread knife, no welcome pack or visitors book. The settees and the dining chairs where uncomfortable. The television was very small. To get into the cottage we had to go down 4 steep old steps with no hand rail to hold on to, I found this was dangerous when walking up them as well as carrying bags and suitcases down them. Not suitable for people with walking difficulty.

  • "Stunning location, easy to find using the postcode and sat nav."

Very clean and cozy cottage. Loved the very comfortable duvet. It was unclear how to get the oven on, but we might have been too tired from all the long walks to comprehend it ;).

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Kathy and John's cottage."

Quiet, warm and extremely clean. Everything we needed was provided for. Due to Covid we had contact with the owners via telephone. On arrival at New Year we were greeted to a a bottle of wine, chocolates, biscuits and a card which was a lovely gesture from Kathy and John. We would definitely stay at their cottage again

It's well equipped with kitchen gear and information. The owners did a lot to make us feel welcome though and provided extra's I was not expecting. There were Christmas decorations which added to the cosiness and a few New Years treats to make the stay even nicer.

  • "I am extremely disappointed that Sykes overcharged me so much for this holiday."

The average weekly rates for that particular cottages was actually lower than we had paid for 3 nights! 324 for a week yet we were charged £330 for a weekend. This is unfair and extortionate and for that reason alone I would never use Sykes nor reccomend the company again.

  • "I have had many cottage holidays over the years - this must go to the top of my list!"

The cottage was full of character, very comfortable and clean and in a beautiful secluded location. The hosts were most welcoming and provided milk on arrival (most appreciated) together with homemade Welsh cakes that were so tasty I ordered more to take back home with me. Provided in the cottage were loads of useful information - books - leaflets etc. on things to do and walks to go on. Snowdonia is one of my favourite locations and finding this cottage has made my visit absolutely perfect. Needless to say, I will be booking again!

  • "These cottages are in an excellent quite location."

Perfectly clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful without being intrusive. Although linked each cottage has a private front patio with outdoor chairs and table. You wouldn't know you had neighbours, probably due to the very thick walls. Right in the heart of the beautiful countryside but within easy reach of the local attractions and excellent walks, forests, water falls and mountains. We took our dog Hector and found that an area of hillside, fenced off was right next door solely for the dog to run around safely :) We would go here again.
