  • "We were met at Ty Nain by Katie and Gareth."

They couldn’t show us round the lodge due to covid restrictions, but told us that everything was ready for us. We unloaded the car outside the lodge and then moved it to our designated parking space. The lodge was lovely and warm and we had a lovely welcome pack of bread, milk, Welsh cakes, jam and Welsh tea (Katie even rang us a few days before asking our milk and bread preference). There were notes to explain how various things were operated, all laminated for hygiene and a box file with all the appliance instruction books in it. The whole place was spotless and so comfortable especially the king size bed. We visited Betws-y-coed, Blaenau Festiniog, Harlech and Porthmadog, all within easy reach. The weather was against us, especially on Rod’s birthday, but we were quite happy in the lodge and he even had a card and gift from Katie and Gareth, which was a lovely thought. This property deserves 6 stars and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much Katie and Gareth.

  • "We love Ty Nain."

We've been here several times... its truly our home from home. We've stayed in many self catering properties over the years and this one is our favourite. It has excellent facilities. Its in a beautiful quiet location, but you can access all that North Wales has to offer (and there's plenty) very easily. Its great for walking - even from your front door. The hosts are not intrusive, but cannot do enough to help if needed. The attention to detail is both delightful and thoughtful. We highly recommend a visit.

The accommodation is spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable with the owners having thought of everything and more that you could possibly need. Ty Nain is a stone's throw from the local Spar and well positioned for touring Northern Snowdonia being a few miles from Betws-y-Coed. We will certainly return.

  • "Ty Nain is a lovely cottage - this was a repeat visit for us and we would recommend it to anyone."

It is warm and comfortable with attractive furnishings, and very well designed to provide every amenity you could wish for within a relatively small space. It also has the best selection of books, games, OS maps and walking/guide books we have ever found in a holiday rental. The owners, Katie and Gareth, go above and beyond what one would expect for the rental cost - fresh fruit and flowers, bread and milk provided, with a welcome gift as well. As veterans of cottage holidays, we are always pleased to find generous supplies of cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets etc. - the stuff you really don't want to buy for one week's holiday - and in this respect Ty Nain takes top prize! Dolwyddellan is ideally located for exploring Snowdonia, and combined with the comfort and generous welcome at Ty Nain you have all the ingredients for a perfect holiday.

An extremely warm welcome and the usual very high standard of accommodation. In fact and to date we have never found better s/c accommodation than that provided at Ty Nain. The standard of cleanliness, the attention to detail and not to mention the little extras provided that start off a holiday break so well, we both truly enjoyed and appreciated. As did out Pappilon who thought the squirrel raiding the bird feeders outside the picture window was there purely for her benefit.

If a new household item was invented tomorrow, it would be in Ty Nain the day after. Awaiting us were freshly cut flowers, bread.milk and a gift basket of welsh goodies. Everything was spotlessly clean, with all mod.cons you could wish for. Set in the most serene of places, you are a short drive to a lot of attractions. it is also a walkers paradise. Katie and Gareth who own the chalet and live in the nearby vicarage are a lovely couple and make you feel so welcome on arrival with flowers, fruit and a gift pack awaiting you and during your stay nothing is too much trouble for them. Katie even gave me a little pot of sweet pea seedlings to plant in my garden as we were leaving.
