The welcome pack provided by Jackie and Graham was perfect. There are a butchers, 2 convenience stores, cafe and a fish shop a short walk away in the village. The lodge is perfectly situated for exploring the coast or countryside, walks from the doorstep as well. We also sat watching buzzards soaring above from the decking, a perfect holiday for us. We'll appointed throughout and extremely helpful owners. Quiet difficult to find depending on approach and coming from village the turn into the drive is on a reverse angle, but no problem, just pass drive and turn in next road on left and approach downhill. Nice touches on arrival in the form of a welcome box of goodies. Underfloor heating efficient even late December. Would definitely recommend this property.

Jackie and Graham are such great hosts and couldn't do enough for us!! They greeted us with champagne on ice when we arrived which was a lovely surprise. The lodge itself is absolutely stunning, so comfortable and with everything you need and more - 5 star luxury! The views are breathtaking across Rhyl and beyond, and we enjoyed the airshow from the comfort of the decking area....absolute bliss!! There is so much to do and see in Dyserth but there wasn't enough time to fit it all in. We did visit Rhaeadr Waterfall, had a lovely walk from Dyserth to Prestatyn, stopped off along the way for a drink at St Melyd Golf club, and would recommend Frankie's Farm shop, where we had lunch, and Bangla Fusion - Indian takeaway. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely return for a longer stay. Thank you again, Jackie and Graham.

We have to say that Bod Ewr Lodge is the very best we have had the pleasure of staying in. We had 2 very good weeks where we were able to use the lodge facilities to the full! The weather was very kind to us, so the BBQ provided for our use, was a real boon! The owners were very obliging and totally customer focussed, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The ready chilled bubbly and very nice chocolates were very welcome upon our arrival, so too was the bonus bottle of red wine at the beginning of the second week of our stay. Need we say more? A superb holiday, in a perfect location and with 5* luxury thrown in! Many thanks Jackie and Graham. Hoping we can return soon!

  • "This was a beautiful holiday property, one of the best we have stayed in."

We chose it mostly for its situation which is very convenient for walking, visiting great places and local amenities, convenience store, pubs etc. But we would go again because of the property itself. We arrived to a chilled bottle of champagne which was lovely after a long drive. Sitting with that on the fabulous decked area with amazing views, was a great start to the holiday. The inside of the property is very tastefully done and well equipped. It’s small, so storage is not great, but it is very well thought out and you have absolutely everything you could need. The owner was very friendly and helpful checking if we needed any top ups etc. We were lucky with the weather, so if you were unlucky you might feel a bit cheated as the outdoor area is just gorgeous, but even one day of it would be worth it. Would we go again? Like a shot.

  • "Bod Erw Lodge is in a lovely setting with sea views over Rhyl."

Our hosts, who live nearby, were very welcoming. They provided milk, a bottle of fiz and cakes on arrival and brought us fresh towels half way through the week. The lodge is set up a short, but quite steep lane and it's quite a tight corner to turn right into, or left out of the lane. We actually used to drive just past the lane and turn around by reversing into a little street opposite, then we could drive up from the left which was a lot easier. There's a gate at the entrance to the grounds of the property so you have to get out of your car to open and close it. This wasn't a problem for us. The parking for the property is flat. The property was nice and clean and well equipped for 2 people. There is a Nespresso coffee machine and the pods were provided, also tea and sugar. There was a good size shower gel dispenser in the shower which was filled with decent shower gel. The only thing I would have liked would be a long handled brush or small vacuum cleaner, but that's just me. The lodge is quite small, but it's lovely and has a nice sitting out area with table, benches and bbq. We were lucky with the weather so got to use it and saw some gorgeous sunsets. The property is near to Rhyl and Prestatyn, also not too far from Conwy, Bets y Coed and Llandudno. Rhuddlan Castle is also nice to visit. We had a lovely meal at the Red Lion in a pod in the beer garden. We also had a nice walk along the old Dyserth to Prestatyn Railway track which is now a tarmac road with lots of benches which was good as my husband needs to rest often due to a lung condition. There's also a nice cafe along the way in a converted railway shed where we had a nice coffee and lovely bacon butty. All in all, we had a great week and would be happy to stay again.

  • "Bod Erw Lodge is the perfect getaway and having spent a fantastic 7 days here, we are amazed that Sykes have 'only' awarded it 4 ticks as this property is the epitome of exceptional standards and luxury."

This isn't a lodge with an anonymous magazine-style design - it is made welcoming and luxurious with help of the personal touches and quality accessories (no one wants to drink fizz out of cheap glasses!) The lodge itself is way beyond being 'well-appointed', everything here is exceptional which begins with the grassed and decking area, with furniture to relax and/or dine at or just to observe the views and listen to the falcons, and of course the Gas BBQ, then its a step inside to the stylish yet efficient kitchen (with everything you need for a quick breakfast to a full meal) with a table to dine at all complimented by the perfect sofa to lounge on whilst logging into the smart TV to watch your favourite films and TV series. Pass through a bathroom that would rival most top-quality hotel rooms with its high-quality fittings including a luxurious power shower (and not forgetting the fluffy robes and slippers) The other side of the bathroom is the bedroom which is set up for the perfect nights sleep, a spacious bed with a top-quality mattress and bedding which certainly makes it a struggle to get up in the morning! Reading lamps, dressing table and hairdryer make this a great, functional room, with luxury to compliment the absolute peace and quiet the lodge offers. The hosts here are also exceptional - we had a long 5+ hour drive and were a little frazzled on arrival, so to be greeted with some drinks on ice and the decking area all setout was a perfect welcome, as was the lowdown on what was available near-by especially the delicious takeaways within walking distance! We had little need for anything else in the lodge (replacement coffee pods, new towels etc) but the level of care given by the hosts is very reassuring and welcoming. The local village/town is great for such a small place, the local Indian is absolutely delicious (use the app to order as everything is cooked fresh), there are a number of other takeaways, mini markets, pubs and a butchers, and a walk down to the waterfall is an absolute must. We used the lodge as the perfect base to visit the nearby beaches, Snowdonia, Zip-world (which is fantastic) and we certainly will be returning to explore further in the not too distant future and to enjoy the sunsets overlooking the sea (and if it's cold to enjoy the awesome underfloor heating!)
