  • "Just home from a relaxing stay in a beautiful little cottage in a beautiful area."

Could not have asked for anything more, stream at the bottom of the garden was relaxing, garden furniture to sit back and appreciate the peace and quiet. Upon arrival we were left a delicious chocolate cake, bottle of wine and tassimo pods, all of which were very welcome, loads of info on surrounding area, lovely shower, comfy bed and a few board games to keep us amused. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we look forward to returning sometime soon.

The cottage has everything you could need and is like home from home. The area is beautiful with walks and historic little villages to visit. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Lucy for your lovely comments. It is always a great feeling when a guest has had a good holiday. Shirley Property Owner

  • "The cottage is very welcoming- situated in a woodland area with very pleasant owners next door, Shirley had even baked a delicious cake which was waiting for us on arrival."

It was very thoughtful to leave some basic store cupboard things to start us off - eg tea, coffee, milk etc. the only downside is the local area doesn’t have nearby eating places or many convenience stores - just a small one in the village which would suit basic needs. Would recommend this cottage though as it has everything you would want for your stay and more.

Hello Connie. We are happy that you enjoyed the cottage and exploring. I would admit that as we are a very rural area you have to go to the market town Pwllheli for the larger shops. Its 20 minutes by car. There just is not the population to support larger shops in the outlying areas but each village has a spar or small convenience store and post office and farm shops. We are glad to see this did not spoil your holiday. Shirley Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in Riverside cottage."

It was cosy, very clean, with very comfy beds and some extra little things that really made a difference (milk in the fridge, good walking books and maps in the bookcase). The location is beautiful and peaceful with the stream in the garden and woods nearby. We came along with our 14 month old toddler so the only thing we would say is that a high chair and cot being available at the cottage would have made our lives a bit easier. Overall a wonderful place and great for a peaceful escape.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and we are sorry that the lack of highchair and cot spoiled your overall visit. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely with everything you could imagine requiring with an incredibly well equipped kitchen."

There was a lovely welcome of cake, milk, fresh flowers and a hand written card from the owners. Although there isn't much in Trefor itself, it makes an ideal base to explore the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. The owners were really useful in providing local advice and information. Would certainly be more than happy to book again if we were returning to the area.

  • "Fabulous little gem which suited us perfectly."

Lovely dog-friendly cottage in a great location for discovering the Llyn Peninsular. Shirley was very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Lovely touches on arrival - home-made lemon drizzle cake (my favourite!), fresh spring flowers, coffee/hot chocolate pods for the Tasso coffee machine (I need to get one!), plus fresh milk and bread - the best welcome pack we've ever had! Fantastic shower too! 10/10 from us! :-)

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay, the coffee machine is a new addition, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review Shirley Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage, very well resourced and comfortable."

Shower was great, powerful and steaming hot and very easily accessible. The river was a huge draw for us and did not disappoint, a pretty peaceful garden area to read a book whilst drinking coffee and gorgeous cake kindly left by the hosts. Quite a remote location but that suited us and was a great base to explore the local area, with beautiful views in every direction. Point to note take 20p or £1 coins for the washing machine. Thanks for a gorgeous holiday, we have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful holiday cottage.

  • "This place was beautiful and completely exceeded our expectations."

Cake and coffee on arrival was just amazing and needed after our 6hr of travel. The stream and the garden was so beautiful we could have stayed at the cottage the entire week if it wasn’t for a busy week of excursions. Yet every time we came back from a busy day of travel we loved arriving back at the cottage. We never got a chance to see or thank the owners in person but I hope they know what a lovely place they have and how welcoming it was. We will 100% be booking again for next year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It is always a pleasure to hear that you have enjoyed your holoiday and the cottage, it makes everything worth while. We look forward to meeting you next year. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautifully clean and furnished."

The beds, duvets and linen were excellent quality and very comfortable. It was lovely to have decent sized towels, this is often not the case in rental properties. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a wonderful, homemade lemon drizzle cake greeted us, which was very welcome after a long journey. The garden was beautiful with the stream running at the bottom. The master bedroom’s windows opened onto it which meant we could hear the water which was an added bonus. Our dog regularly pottered down for a paddle and a drink! She also enjoyed walks through the stunning woods behind the caravan park. I walked from the cottage to the sea on a circular walk which had great views. The beach is very stony but with a car there are many sandy beaches easily accessible, for example, I drove to Pwllheli, parked and walked along the Welsh Coastal Path and beach to Llanbedrog several times. Altogether a very enjoyable stay and I’m sure we will be back.

Thank you so much for your review, it makes all the hard work worth it. Wea re glad you enjoyed your holiday here an hope to see you again, when you can explor more of the coastal path. This week we were on Nefyn beach with our grandchildren and a paddle board and found ourselves swimming with dolphins so close into shore. It was wonderful. Property Owner

  • "What a little gem !"

We have just returned from a very enjoyable weeks holiday at Riverside Cottage, which is a lovely little place and perfectly well equiped for a relaxing break for up to 4 people. Our dog loved the stream in the garden to the rear which gets the sun until early evening and there is bench at the front to enjoy the sun as it sets. The site is very well kept and peaceful and the owners, Jeff & Shirley, work hard to ensure their guests have all they need and even left lovely cakes and coffee for our arrival. Pwyhelli is the nearest large town, around 20 mins away, and it has a great array of shops. There are several beaches within a few miles drive to enjoy a swim in the beautifully clear water and Abersoch is very shallow and calm which is perfect for young children or aged dogs like ours. It can be a bit noisy and busy near the jetty but further round the beach there are quieter areas. A previous review states problems with the internet / WiFi but we didnt have any issues, Shirley advised it was an issue that had been resolved some time ago. We would highly recommend Riverside and will be returning !

I am so glad that you enjoyed your holiday and thank you for leaving the cottage clean and tidy. We would loved t have you return. Property Owner

  • "The internet was intermittent."

Pretty cottage and surroundings. Due to torrential rain the 'the stream' turned into a very fast river more akin to rapids. But it did calm down again. Do not let dogs outside when river running fast without a lead. They could get swept away.

  • "We all enjoyed Riverside cottage, myself, my husband but especially our Westie."

The cottage was comfortable and the owner was welcoming and helpful. However the Wi-Fi did not work whilst we were there, we asked the owner who did try to sort it but still didn't work. It didn't spoil anything as we were out a lot as the weather was good but it may have been different if it had rained all the time.

We have been dealing with Plus net for a few days trying to remedy the situation. It appears there was a major loss of coverage across the area. This seems to have now been resolved. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Riverside cottage, especially location next to the river was amazing."

There were few things that we found could be better. One of them was cleanliness. There were several spiderwebs around the windows including skylight and place was full of spiders. The window in second bedroom (two single beds room)wouldn't open, difficult to ventilate and cool room. The biggest issue we found for family stay by the seaside was that the cottage didn't have a facility to wash and dry clothes. With 2children and daily visit to the local sandy beach it proved to be quite a challenge to hand wash everything. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The location was very quiet, privite and only 20minutes walk from the beach.
