The property

This detached former railway station has been successfully renovated into beautiful holiday accommodation, situated in the village of Frongoch about 3 miles from Bala, north Wales.

Whether you're a railway enthusiast or on the lookout for a quirky holiday home, this is your chance to stay in a former station on the Great Western Railway's Bala Ffestiniog Line.

Although the railway line and trains are no longer there, you do get a feel for what it may have been like during that bygone era.

This delightful character property is ideal for a family looking to stay somewhere a little different in a quiet, rural location but within easy reach of local amenities and activities.

Enter the single-storey property into a welcoming entrance hall, off which you’ll find the three bedrooms, family bathroom and the sitting room.

Walk through the sitting room to the well-appointed kitchen-diner, which is finished to a very high standard.

This will be an enjoyable place to cook a meal at the end of a busy day, before relaxing in the sitting room with its wooden beams and red brick fireplace.

Of the three bedrooms, the master double boasts an en-suite shower room, and all three look out over spectacular views of the rolling countryside and nearby river.

The property has off-road parking for 4 cars.

There is also a delightful patio at the back, which was actually the former station platform and makes a comfortable and relaxing place to sit with a drink and take in the views over the nearby countryside.

The former signal house has been converted into a games room with a small pool table and is a great place for the children to play, whilst the adults enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub, the perfect way to end a day of adventures.

The nearest town with pubs and restaurants is Bala, which is roughly 3 miles away.

The National White Water Centre is a little over a mile away, and there are lots of opportunities for walking nearby.

Hen Stesion is the perfect place for anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to stay somewhere with lots of character.
